Each bead is an individual work of art! Making the beads start with the same base bead and adding the unique finish treatments changes the size. Check out Potomac beads videos showing the actual production lines in the bead factories. Amazing how much work goes into each bead!

I always work with a magnifier, and even with 11's poured out of the same tube (same color, coating, everything), and even from Japanese manufacturers which are the most consistent, I can clearly see different sizes to the beads on my bead mat. If I'm doing freeform netting or a "randomized" pattern, that's a real plus. But for structured pieces, it means I'm looking very closely at every bead I add. Thanks for this video Kelly!

Dear Kelly, I have learned the lesson of this video, over and over - many times to my chagrin. For example, a 3mm Czech Pearl is generally different than a 3mm Swarovski Pearl, (or 4mm, respectively). Also, 3mm (or 4mm), Czech pearls can be different among themselves. I cannot speak to other sizes. When I work with either kind or size of pearl, interspersing them in a design with Miyuki 11s or 15s, I have had some patterns not work out as they should. For example, if I am making a bezel for a rivoli, a circle of Czech or Swarovski Pearls and Miyukis, can be very different starting circles. I too, ended up pulling out my handy digital measure, and discovered such itty bitty differences (hard to see just looking at the pearls side by side on a mat), that do not seem like much when considering one pearl. Nevertheless, I have ripped out many beginnings of bezels, because the difference in pearl sizes can result in a round base of pearls and Miyukis being "waffle-y," versus fitting together nicely to form a solid bead/pearl foundation. I have found this true with "the revered" Miyuki beads alone (depending on the coating), and as you demonstrate, with Czech beads. So, thank you for providing further validation! It is not always a difference in beading tension! - although this can be another factor in how beads "weave" together.

I ran into this same issue with super duos. Both were labeled Czech glass beads, 2.5X5 mm. I used up the one and needed more to finish a bracelet. I bought more but at a different place. I finished the bracelet but it wasn't until after that noticed the newer beads looked odd against the original ones. The newer ones were more bubble shaped. Lesson learned the hard way.
Beautiful bracelet. I did a wrap bracelet but my beads were horizontal, not vertical.

Boy, love those vibrant colors. I didn't see where you mentioned the bead choice you used. Is the color of the Gemduo Violet Gold Rainbow or Gold Rainbow Copper, or something else? Also, the Firepolish - a multi-color? Thanks, Kelly.
