Dating apps have destroyed social interactions and normal commmunication between people in so many ways that thesis could easily be written about the subject
Social media in general has destroyed social interactions. That combined with unrealistic expectations. People are inlove with the idea of being in a relationship. But when it comes to actually doing the work and putting in effort they fall back and don't want to commit
Hello Palm 🌴, I really want to retire in Hua Hin can you please help me with a service there that will help me with this process. I will pay you for your information and help, I am from the U.S. I have been looking at the visa I need and there is no problem with documents I just want to make sure everything is 100% . Thank you for everything you do I really respect your Culture.
Thank you so much for your kind words and the Super Thanks, I really appreciate your support! 🙏 Retiring in Hua Hin sounds like a wonderful plan. Since you already have your documents sorted, I recommend reaching out to Facebook Group 'Expats in Hua Hin' They can guide you through the process or recommend some agency. Thank you again for respecting Thai culture, it truly means a lot. Wishing you all the best on your journey to retirement here! 😊
Well, i enjoyed all of those descriptions and i never heard of the names you gave but they made me smile. There are the same types in europe with different names, so same same but not quite same. All in all it makes me so glad I have a phone that's in a drawer and only gets switched on when i need to use the banking app.
Dear Ling noi, how instructive today. When thai people asked me if I am hungry or if I ve eaten, I completely misunderstood till today. 😮 However, thx for the entertainment. The mentality seems different or maybe the times have changed. Please check ppal. Sorry about the decreasing amount. Euro seems to get in free fall. See you soon, Santa K
It depends on who’s asking about being hungry! 😅 If a lady says she’s hungry for you at night, it might mean something else entirely. 😉 But generally, it’s just an invitation to eat for real. Thanks so much for your support no worries about the amount, it means a lot! 🙏
🤣🤣 love the "iam hungry " quote you use very funny. Just enjoy any relationship you are in they all have advantages and disadvantage, just pick the one that suits you.
Thank you for sharing the inside baseball for Thai women’s thinking on this topic. It hadn’t occurred to me that gals busy with work might still want to have some fire with a man exclusively. Just not so serious and complicated as full time BF GF leading to marriage and all the responsibilities that come with that. I was listening to an expat vlogger the other day talk about this and I wasn’t sure I understood him, “she has her own apartment and I have mine and we get together for food or fun or outings occasionally.” It seemed a bit too casual and how can you trust someone? Well, of the 4 relationships you mentioned, the exclusivity and genuine friendship of FWB seems to me as the only one I could risk and enjoy. I mean, zombie, situationship, and open relationships would just be too much because if I love a woman I don’t want to risk heartbreak 😢 In a way, FWB may be the ideal approach when starting new. Not so much pressure to find “the one” and yet potentially it becomes just that.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I get what you mean, FWB can offer a balance of exclusivity and friendship without the pressure. Clear communication is key to avoid complications. Appreciate your insights!
The bottom line is , as long as 2 people are in agreement with each other intentions then no problem .....Some people are ok with the freedom and benefits of being single , so they figure if they can date and get the attention like they are in a relationship without the title then they will go for it cuz anyone can walk away without it being to emotionally attached .
Well said! As long as both people are on the same page about their intentions, it can work. Some do prefer the freedom and flexibility without the emotional weight of a full commitment. Communication is key in any setup!
Friends with benefits is probably the best because if it does turn into a serious relationship, it will probably last a long time because the two people were friends first.
It literally says benefits in the name.. it might happen cause you have money. If you would lie that you don't have money... You know the rest of the story.
fwb lab test is only good for one time. I'm not ready, means their looking for someone better but you can be their fwb until they find someone else. One problem with the fwb is someone develops feelings over time.
@SwedishGlobetrotter I think you completely misunderstood what Bob Marley's patois lyric "No woman, no cry" actually means (it's commonly misinterpreted). It doesn't mean "not getting in love saves you from heartache". Bob Marley is actually addressing a woman and saying "woman, you don't need to cry, I'll comfort you". But while we're on the subject of Bob Marley, I think he has one of the best lines (afaik just from an interview not a lyric) about relationships that I know. "Everyone is going to hurt you. You just have to decide who is worth suffering for".
Bob Marley May he rest in peace and no longer be hurting. as a man we know, that everybody that can will try to get from you. it's up to us to say no. But some people are worth hurting for.
From my experiences knowing friends here in Thailand, married Western couples who come to Pattaya ALWAYS break up. 100% of the time. Just too many mad people here. Personally I just never understand a non comital type of relationship, it’s just impossible. Stick to one or move on.
I have a serious question. Do thai people even know what a relationship is? I mean, for a (real) Thai-girlfriend, it is only cheating if the partner knows that there is another man or other men's.
When my wife and I move to Thailand we want a FWB. A normal lady working a normal job. We can hang out with, travel with but also have intimate moments with.
@@ThaiThoughtsmutual respect, clear communication, and shared values all take time. most people today are not willing to put the time in. they're not willing to put the energy and the effort. too many people after the age of 30 have been hurt and burned and are guarding their hearts. in order to have the opportunity to see if you have those shared values you have to be open you have to be ready and you have to be willing. and above all you have to have time because that will tell you if it's true or not. how much time? that depends on each one of us. 11 months into my relationship with my feen, I think I know enough to make the right decision. I hope you're find the right person Palm. Life is always better shared with someone that you care about. Sawatdee khrup
Each one of these relationships have destroyed “normal” “meaningful” “loving” relationships. I’m like you Palm. None of these interests me at all. Any hint that a girl wants or has been in any of these in the past is huge RED FLAG for me. I’ll keep searching for Serious Only!!
All of these so called 'modern' and 'trendy' relationship statue like FWB, Situationships, open relationships etc... are all an absolute waste of time/energy and money from my perspective. They always seem to leave people feeling bitter, upset and resentful if the person doesn't move the 'relationship' on in the way they want. Traditional relationships that have always worked since the beginning of time are the best in my opinion. I hope that Thailand doesn't change too much in that you all try and copy the West with everything especially with so called 'modern' relationship dynamics.

Yes, I am hoping to start 'Friends with benefit' over there but still not know how to find or how to have it?
Why not just pay then? Isnt it the same in the end
"Pay to play" is a fun place to start while you look around outside the bar scene for a higher quality partner.
It's easy for women to find, because men keep wanting that. For a man, it's hard to find a woman who wants that.
Friends with benefits is not uncommon in Denmark.
Thanks for sharing your insight! 🙏
I need a relationship Friends with benefits
Good excuse...I am not ready.

But the way Palm describes it, it's not friendship to begin with. A true friend, with or without benefits, doesn't "disappear when the sun comes up".
It literally says benefits in the name.. it might happen cause you have money. If you would lie that you don't have money... You know the rest of the story.
Big simp😂
@@mattdouglas1050 That's the difference between FWB and AFWB (Actual Friends With Benefits). Relationship = Friendship + Ultimatums.

It's true that sticking to one person or moving on is often the best approach. Appreciate you sharing your perspective!
I think ....therefore I am!
Friend with benefit relationship only in the night ?
Not how I define "friends with benefits" either as such more or less completely leaves only the friend part.
You get the idea.
You know it is over when they say "I am not ready".
True, It’s hard, but sometimes it’s better to move on when you hear that.
open relationships are just friends with benefits but they want to show it off (embarass themselves)

What kind of relation you prefer?
I prefer a relationship based on mutual respect, clear communication, and shared values.
I like the same as you prefer

The categories used to be called "dating", "going steady", "engaged" and "married". The behaviors are nothing new, only the wording.
Normal girls don't go on dating apps.
Unless "normal" means something different in Thailand
It’s true that dating apps can attract a mix of people, but many 'normal' girls use them too, especially in Bangkok.
Wow, to Much Drama for me that sounds exhausting. People love Drama LOL i'ts not for me.
