- This video is on Transamination and Deamination.
Transamination involves the transfer of α-amino group of α-amino acid to an α-keto acid to form new amino acid and a new keto acid.
The enzymes that catalyze transmission are called aminotransferases or transaminases
Deamination is of two types 1. Oxidative deamination and 2 Non Oxidative deamination
Thankyou for all your efforts this video's are really helping me to clear all concepts related to biochem and vry hlpful for for my semester thank you sir👍👍
Glad to hear that nida. Please spare a few minutes and do spread the word about the channel among your batchmates and friends
Sir the definition in this video says particularly transfer of alpha amino grp of alpha a.acid but gamma amino group of ornithine is also transaminated for instance
Why these 4 Amino acid can not undergo tranamination reaction??????
I was tried of searching this topic and it's here after my exam... ,😿
Slides avail hn ?
Excellent video
Thank you 😊
Sir incase of amino acid is it necessary that after every transamination, the Glumate will be the end product? or there may also other amino acids like Asparate /Alanine?
Yes glutamate is the collecting point for the ammonia...
@@Biochemistrybasics Sir, then how am I supposed to make other amino acid through this transamination? cant I make any amino acid other than glutamate?
@@asifkarim4240 glutamate is the most commonly formed amino acid.
For synthesis of other Amino acids, most common amino acid i.e, glutamate will undergo deamination and other amino acids will be synthesised..
@@asifkarim4240 Through transamination other amino acids are also synthesised by most common one is the glutamate, that's why generally study only it's formation...
That's the reason
@@yuvrajsinghshekhawat7250 yes that was my confusion. Others are also formed but we studay glutamate as it is the commonest
Amazing explanation
😊🙏
Nice video
Thanks dear
very nice effort 👍👍
Thank you. Keep loving biochemistry and do spread the word about the channel 😊
Sir can you please share rafi biochemistry textbook link pls sir
You can buy it from Amazon. No soft copy is available
Okay sir thank you
Nyzz clss ..thq sir🎉🎉
Thanks dear
Very nice explanation 👍👌👌

Describe mechanism of plp in transamination.....
If lysine were transaminated, it would cyclize into a toxic non-metabolite
If threonine were transaminated, it would dimerize into a toxic non-metabolite
also transaminases CANNOT BIND lysine or threonine
Proline does not have alpha amino group so it doesn't undergo Transamination
PLP is the active form of B6. It act as Coenzyme for the Transamination reaction
Thank you for the clear explanation
Most welcome dear
