A Night In Miniopolis - Urbz GBA/DS Lofi Chill Mix

- This is a loop of two of the most relaxing songs in the game Urbz for GBA and DS. I'm thinking of putting together a bigger mix of some of the best songs from this game, depending on how this first video is received. I hope you enjoyed the beats, whether you were here for the nostalgia or just looking for something new.
Copyright Information:
The Urbz: Sims in the City were developed by Maxis and Griptonite Games (GBA & DS), and published by EA Games in 2004. All the music in this video was produced by Ian Stocker.
I've been loving reading through everyone's comments on your memories and love for this game, it really warms my heart to see just how many fans are out there. I've said I considered doing a follow up to this mix, but it isn't wasn't that easy because of copyright issues, and just life (to be honest I'm just glad this video stays up). I'm so glad I got this many people together to post about their experiences with Urbz and lofi, thank you so much for sharing!
Now a question for the fans, which is your favorite Urbz character? Its a game with so many wild characters!
To me personally Dusty Hogg has always put a smile on my face whenever I read his reactions to conversation topics, and Gramma Hattie is also up there.
damn i wish i could answer to your question properly but i always played the spanish version of the game and they had wildly different names there, but if i had to guess my favorites would be krystal and the shady italian guy XD
this game really is stellar, same for Bustin' out, but Urbz was just an all round better polished experience.
I usually play yhis game like once every 2 years
@@HeatmanMKIII Same, it's like a yearly trip back to simpler times, revisitting old places and meeting up with familiar faces.
I love Lottie Cash
I speak for all 50 of us who actually played this game when were younger, a most sincere thanks.
W
At least 112 of us
What about the millions who ripped it and played it on an emulator? 😂
This nostalgia hit me like a truck, goodlord.
It's so awesome knowing that there are other people who fondly remember this game. I only know of one other person irl who has even heard of this game
Ian stocker did this OST so well..
not just this one, he made quite a lot of GBA & DS OSTs. Like Narnia, Pirates of the Carribean, Harry Potter and more. Check out his channel, it's like a trip back to childhood
Ian Stocker was an absolute genius, he did soooo many good OSTs for licensed games around that era
Lofi before Lofi was invented! You sir are bridging a 15 year gap here and I'm all for it!
@LOSTWANDERER you suck the fun out of things
the soundtrack of my life
Géniale ta vidéo sur le jeu d'ailleurs
Comme nous nous retrouvons ! J’avais bien dis que les Urbz sur GBA était génial :p
l'OST est incroyable ! Toute mon enfance.
maaaan i remember just going around the map with the hoverboard or the bike during the night just to listen to the tunes
this game brought so much fun and good memories when i was little, i'm so glad that i can finally find people who appreciate the same things as me
Everyday i hope that someone will remaster sims urbz and bustin’ out to new consoles with new additional content
Imagine playing the remaster on a switch or steam deck 🤤
You’re not alone ❤ united we stand 💪✨ love me some gba urbz
I remember in school my friends and i had rumors about a hidden car you could get. Ever since then I hoped wed get a romhack of the mythical car that so plagued the playground back in the days.
Now i can sleep in peace. Dang, this brings back so many memories. I miss playing till midnight and having to hide my gameboy under my pillow when my mom checks in to see if im sleeping. I remember getting new cartridges just before a long weekend and having the most fun playing these old sims games. I really wish they made more sims games with actual storylines like these. They don't make em like they used to. Thank you for the upload! That's an insta-sub for me.
What if every street light had a speaker and played this after 8pm til 7am and the day time one would play at day like bro I'd be happy as hell to go out lol
I really wish this version had Canon. B.Cole's sax playing. :(
Damn, you're right, that plus some greetings and pigeons flying off would make this the perfect nostalgia trip.
@@AgressivePigeon DOOT-DOOT-DOOT-DA-DA-DOOT, DOO-DOO-DOO-DA-DOOOOOOOOO.....
my mom introduced my brother and i to the game when we were kids after she got a DS for christmas, our whole family started playing and being obsessed with it, we would have urbz nights together during the weekend. it's such a nostalgic soundtrack
….feeling cool as a lake 🎷
This was such a great game. The 90's/2000's vibe, I miss it sometimes
Oh man, the way this was my favourite game on the Gameboy Advance. I didn't have money to afford a proper gaming setup when I was 8, so a handheld console was the best I could do. And this was in many ways, my gateway into the Sims franchise. The way I played this game over and over, and would compulsively leave my Sim hanging in Glasstown at night just to hear the OST in a loop. I'm 27 now, but this still hits so good. And despite being developed for a much smaller system with considerably less capable hardware, this version of The Urbz had more 'soul' in my opinion, as compared to its Playstation counterpart.
I still have this game on Gameboy Advance, DS and as emulated Advance Game on PC. This is a game which if I return it feels like home.
Couldn't have said it better, it really feels like a hometown.
@@AgressivePigeon honestly, most Sims tracks are masterpieces. See Sims 1, Sims 2 and Sims 3 tracks. I still play Sims 3 with a load of add-ons. I think it's the best of the series. On handheld, its Urbz GBA or DS.
i get such an uncomfortable feeling of nostalgia, because this reminds me of the cozy evenings when my family would sit together in the living room, watching tv and me playing this game on my nds. life will never be the same.
I am so happy youtube recommended this to me 😭
Its honestly insane how games like this aren't being remade, still have all my original copies of the sims games. So many developers focus on todays tech to put some Triple A game title out there, when games like this would do fantastic today.
this deserves more recognition
I'd listen to this soundtrack all day. More lofi versions of other songs if you can!
小学生の時にプレイして、人生で一番大切なゲーム
I remember playing this with my sister qhen we where kids, the night athmpsphere of this place was something incredible, such a good memories
God that chicken scared the hell out of me when I was younger
i would kill to have this on spotify for real this makes me wanna cry this is ALL my childhood aeueauueueaueaaaeae
wow this is amazing! I recently picked up my old ds again and was immeriately drawn to this game! As a child I thought the rep groups were an accurate representation of what adult life was gonna be like, haha. Now, grandma Hedwig is my icon (not sure what her name was in other languages than german)
Gramma Hattie, yeah I also used to think being a grown up was all about being a streetie haha, simpler times. Nice choice of a role model, love how down to earth she is
The Sims and Spyro games were my favorite games on GBA.
Bruh I literally love this game to pieces. I've replayed it a total of like 5 times and I'm currently playing through the GBA version for the first time. It's nice to see some form of content for it online!
-I'm making fanart of characters from the game cuz I just need more content of this game in my life...-
I'm so glad I found this, it's been so long since I've played this game! Wish there was a discord group specifically for this game just to vibe with others and talk about the rep groups hehe
Make one!!
Probably the best game I played during my childhood. It feels good to come back every once in a while and listen to the OST. Truly a masterpiece. Ty for the upload ^^
So true! I loved the bayou and the college and decorating my home!
Handheld sims games were great, at least, bustin out, urbz and 2.
Hello! Such a lovely group ❤. I never cared about this as a kid, but later in life I traded on ebay and would usually play all games to see what they were like and check they worked...
But I played this game all the way through the story and the music was so chill already. I forgot about this game until it came up in a UA-cam video, then I searched the ost and found this. This music is so amazing, the prefect balance of upgraded while also true to the source material.
It just needs a 'heavy rain sound' version now :D
OMG!, i never thought that something like this could exist... Thanks.
If you make the same with other songs of this game, i will be so much grateful.
This is one if my favorite games.
Greetings from chile.
Glad you enjoyed. Sure, I'll make a new mix, stay tuned! This game also holds a special place in my heart, allways happy to hear from someone else who played it.
The game was pretty ok, but the soundtrack glued it to my brain for years.
They need to make another spin off game that’s as good as this and Bustin Out.
I knew this was special the 1st time I herd it ✨ glad I wasn't the only one 😅
Still love this game
This was my game.
Finally, inner peace
If this ever gets a remake somehow I'll cry manly tears!
Thanks for the mix ❤
My favourite character is the milkshake ninja (I forget if he even had a name 😂)
Bro... bless your heart. I hope you get everything you wish for in life and u end up happy. I had no idea anyone did this. I love this game and it has quite the nostalgia effect on me. Thank you again.
This game was so good ❤
Ah yes, when we used to hear this song
I very vaguely remember playing this on my cousin's gameboy when I was a kid. It was one of the coolest games to me.
I never played the game, thanks to youtube algorithm I can enjoy this banger, when I hear this song I can imagine living in 90's New York, just like 'Hey Arnold' world.
This was the first NDS game I ever played. Over a decade later, the OST still slaps. I remember being mesmerized by Glasstown at night when I was a kid.
I got this video randomnly recommended and holy shit, the memories, the many hours spent in this game, reading guides on how to beat it, replaying it in the DS version... this game had a lot of love and i'll make sure my kids get to play it too.
Been playing the DS version through an emulator on my phone and it's great, used to play the GBA version as a kid so it's nice that I can play it again
This is the best omg 😂 I never truly played the game but my brother played and I would sit and watch for ages. Watched a bunch of play throughs few years ago.
This game seems to bring bros together. My sister was the one that got it, awesome pick sis. Really heart warming comment, takes me back
12:00 we all had a great childhood
Thank you for this. Urbz sims in the city for GBA was literally my childhood 🥺.
I just recently checked out the ds version for the first time ever and I'm happy to say I'll be diving in for another playthrough sometime soon. I doubt I'll be getting stuck as I rememember the entire game so well 😊
que nostalgia me trae este soundtrack de cuando jugaba los sims urbz en el emulador de gba que juegazo dios mio era este y el se toman la calle. se extraña mucho esta clase de juegos de la saga de maxis
Please PLEASE make more of these! I miss the urbz so much 😭
Already at the time I found that this music gave off something relaxing and nostalgic, what a pleasure to listen to it again ❤️ It makes me want to go back in time when I was a child.
I could cry. This game is my home 😭😭
oh this was made for ME
My favorite tracks from that legendary game
AHHH this brings back so many memories❤❤
I played this game for the first time a few months ago... and this makes me want to replay it
One of the best games I've played. So much content packed into a ds & gba game, and the soundtrack was always a mood during the day and night, nice vid
This is so relaxing & nostalgic at the same time. I used to play the GBA and DS games when I was younger. Wholly obsessed with them! I recently got a steam deck and have been contemplating emulating Sims 2 GBA, Bustin'' Out, & The Urbz...the only question is do I play the GBA versions, DS versions, or both? 😆
I played this game on a emulator and i love it soooo much
This is something I never knew I needed until now
I LOVE YOU THX FOR MAKING THIS
Let's get this video to 500 likes. Seriously, I love the GBA sims games and their soundtrack, they were my childhood and i appreciate that more people is giving it the attention it deserves
I’d do anything for a remake of this game
L'effet est magique 😇
Doctor Moore :Hi~goodluck
This game slaps
このゲームの興奮を超えるゲームにまだ出会えてない
Thank you for making this. Nostalgia for days
very relaxing 🌃🎶🔷️
Well..... the nights are really bad now
this is awesome
Is the city of Urbania based on Minneapolis? I’ve always wanted to go to the place based on this game and hopefully live there someday like the Sim that I played as!
this is such a good mix thank you
love it so much
Where is the art from? I love it, Urbania is my favorite location.
Just a couple of filters and tweaks over a screenshot from the game. Great choice, Urbania really has it all
B U C K E T
Something about feels just a tiny bit lacking without a moment of saxophone playing here and there...
can you give us this in hd for wallpaper bro
The soundtrack in this game goes harder than Drake driving through a school zone
