In just a few weeks, we will be attempting an Iron Butt Challenge (1,000 miles in 24 hours). This video covers the preparation of the FZ1 for a trip like this!
Blaze Bags (out of stock): www.cyclegear.com/accessories... - Авто та транспорт
The only thing that would annoy me would be the fuel tank range (150miles if lucky) on a Gen 2
I added bags like that on my FZ 07.
They work great, easy to take off when not in use, so thieves to take them.
I always hated having a back pack on.
The back pack would pull on my shoulders what riding.
The wind was always pulling on me.
Is why o hated having my recording camera on top of my helmet.
The wind would push against the camera and make my neck be in pain after a long ride.
I'm very happy the way the bags turned out. Makes it so I don't have to wear a backpack for any long trips. Very convenient.
Absolutely love the Fz1's, kind of curious if these would fit/work on a Cbr1100XX
That's a pretty sweet setup!
Thanks! Very excited to try it out.
I'm actually looking for a set of these saddlebags myself. Should be a good trip!!
They were not easy to find at all! lol. We'll keep you updated on the trip!
hello, about the changmenet of the risoma handlebars, did you feel a big change compared to the original one? does it affect the cables or did you change them too? it is if yes, what is the reference of risoma please, I think you have also changed
Smoked black transparent wind deflector in a large against the wind, you are better protected against the wind especially at the level of the rib cage and the head? THANKS
Hey there! I actually purchased the bike with the Rizoma bars already installed so I can't really share how this compares to a stock setup unfortunately.
I have the same saddle bags with a Yamaha logo for my 2015 FZ1. They do work well.
So far I love riding with them. Can't tell they're there and they hold a decent amount.
I did 840 miles (undocumented) in about 12 hrs on my 09 fz1 (Oshkosh WI to Chattanooga TN) I had the Cortech sport bags that worked but there was some tire rub. Those mounts and bags seem much sturdier! I did this without a throttle lock and man I was sore lol. You have it set up pretty good! You will not be disappointed in touring with that bike!
Awesome trip! Thanks for sharing the experience. I love the Chattanooga area. I'm sure you found some great riding roads down there, too.
@@FocusedGarage I was visiting family so I didn’t get much fun riding down there but I did it in a weekend because I could! I took two days on the way home it was much nicer 😂
Haha yea those long days can really get to you! Luckily for us, we're taking a day off from riding once we get to our destination.
Do you know which size Nelson rigg tail bag you have? Sport, lite or touring?
how wide is your handlebar and witch model is it exactly? you like it? mine is less wide.
Beautiful machine.
Thank you!
Also proud owner of 06 fz1! I have same motech bags. Bottom of My right side bag tends to contact with exhaust with added weight so be cautious! What throttle lock device did you decide on?
Thanks for the heads up! Went with the Kaoko throttle lock. Video coming soon on that.
Hey I know this is an old video. I was just wondering what brand headers are on the bike . Thanks !
Dale Walker Holeshot headers.
Planning to try this on my fz1.
Any tips for better fuel economy or to increase range of the bike
Cruise on the highway in sixth gear and stay out of the throttle lol. You'll be easily able to 120+ miles per tank. If cruising at a steady speed for a long time, it's not THAT bad on gas.
@@FocusedGarage i get max 190km till the fuel light goes on... (while driving like a grampa) but mines is dyno tuned for power .
Can you please help a Fazer lover understand if he can transform MT10 into Fazer? Can it be made to be comfortable enough for two up rides, long tours as well as short ones, can the ride even be compared in your opinion? I love Fazer, and I don't like them discounting it so trying to see if MT10 is hidden Fazer beneath... 😮
You can make a MT10 comfortable enough for touring! I have seen many people doing more comfortable seats with larger windshields and luggage making it a decent sport touring motorcycle.
Feel like with basic modifications (seat, screen, throttle lock) these bikes are cozy enough for the occasional 4,000 mile week?
I'd say that they are. Everyone has a different tolerance level.
What type and size are your handlebars and did you have to change any cables ??
The previous owner installed the Rizoma bars so I cannot say for sure.
Any good seats?
I bought a gel cushion but even after a while my a** hurts
Look into Sargent, Eddie Dirt Road, or Corbin. I've even heard the Yamaha OEM comfort seat is decent.
@@FocusedGarage Thanks bro.
Ill check those out .
What plate mount is on that FZ1?
That is actually the only part on the bike I'm not sure of, lol.
Those bars look a lot wider then my stock bars.
The Rizomas are wider than stock, I believe.
Did 1340 miles on my 2021 zx14 in 24 hours. Only thing that bothered me was my butt...
Time for a upgraded seat haha
First
That you are!
