In one of the episodes of "In the Soop" Jhope revealed that when Jin's dog Jjanggu died, Jin sobbed and was inconsolable. He had spent 12 of his growing up years with his beloved pet.
The silver voice of Jin and the way he can convey emotions is just chef's kiss.

Regarding Jin's Sugar Gliders, the first one passed in 2018 and his name was Eomuk. Eomuk and Odeng lived with his parents at the time. Jin has mentioned that he got a phone call from them that Eomuk tried to leap off from a height that was too tall and landed wrong, unfortunately. Since, Sugar Gliders are very social animals he got another friend for Odeng, named Gukmul. But, in 2019 Odeng passed away after slipping off his cage, which is when he wrote Tonight. His dog died of old age tho. As far as for his third Sugar Glider, Gukmul his status is unknown. Fun fact tho both names Odeng (Japanese) and Eomuk (Korean) both means fish cake and Gukmul means soup of course Jin named them after food.
You can hear how much he loved his pets, like they were children to him. Whatever Jin sings is perfect to me.

I think this is the one where he sings about losing his pets. his dog and his two sugar gliders died within a year and Jin has talked about how sad and hard it was.

When you first hear the song, it may seem like Jin is singing about losing a relationship or reminiscing about one of his old girlfriends. But no, the song is actually about Jin's love for his pets,Jin made this song in honor of them,in Korea it even ended up on an animal TV show, the music and the wonderful and sweet voice of our Jin are so beautiful. It's a shame that it was for something as sad as losing his pets so beloved.🥺😢Words cannot describe how much we love him. Thank you for existing Kim Seokjin.🤗💜

I remember he wrote this song for his dog and spent many times arranging the melodies. There’s a Run BTS where they all work with dogs and this was right around that time, so at least Jin got to relax with the dog. Jin’s silver voice truly comes through and can feel the emotions! I was torn apart when my last dog went and now my other dog, I feel is my family. Thank you so much! 💜🫰🏻🇨🇦

When you hear the back story about the song (a song dedicated to his pets that passed) it isn't a stretch to say that he didn't have to rely to much on his acting to pull this one off. He sings this with his pets in mind which lets us hear his deep attachment to his beloved sugar gliders and his dog.
I would rather Jin sing this song live all by himself! His solo songs are where we get to hear how great a musician/singer he is ❤
Thank you for this reaction, John. Jin wrote this song for FESTA 2019 in memory of his beloved pets. I love the simplicity of the instrumental accompaniment which allows his silver voice to shine through. Missing our precious Moon so much!

I think because it was a gift to Army and only recently hit streaming platforms a year ago. It’s truly lovely and such a touching tribute to his lost pets. 😢

It's such an incredible song and that too for a first composition. Do look up his covers and BTS' soundcloud stuff. I LOVE Jin's discography imo all his songs are what u could call classics. There are songs w/c do well in charts but is memorable for only that time being and there are also songs that are classic that it might not win no. 1 but is timeless u know? Unforgettable and even for a looong time, the message, the music still hits u like Epiphany & Awake.
I cry for jins poor heart he pours out about his loving and losing his pets, he recorded this on tour in his motel room also. I remember him bringing his sugar glider to practice and it was sooo cute...when he returns hes supposed to be putting out an album so im waiting for it....love when jin and jimin are together.jin always makes jimin so happy with his dad jokes and jimin loves them...

I came to comment and see someone say he is singing about his old dog. I heard previously that it was about his other pets, a type of flying squirrel, called sugar gliders. Maybe the song is for the grief of losing any of them. I think the delicacy of the notes and the sensitivity of his voice here is more suited to the gliders.
It is a very nice and personal song.

I really like the song from his playlist, Autumn Outside the Post Office. It starts out kinda slow and then switches to a rock beat in the last part of the song. I love it every time I listen to it and would love to hear your reaction. He really has a lovely “silver” voice, as they say. His playlist on UA-cam Music is great-all his songs. Epiphany is great, but I particularly love the demo version.
