The reason i am so excited for Pantheon. Everquest was my first mmo, My mom and dad were the one's who got me into it, It was how we spent some family time back in the early 2000's. I meet my best friend in everquest of now almost 20 years. The relationships of friends who i have met and also lost along the way have given me joy beyond anything. When this game was announced i had just recently lost my dad and my mother and i thought this would be an awesome call back for my kids who are now over 18 too join us in a new adventure and keep the family tradition alive to play something together. Unfortunatly i lost my mom last october so she didnt make it too see this come to pass. However my kids and i are still super excited to keep up with the tradition of playing an mmo togeather. Now you say well u could just play wow or Final Fantasy or any of the 100's out there. But With Pantheon like everquest it is an old school MMO that has that danger feel that feel that if u accidently pull to many or if someone misses a Mez or a snare you could spend hours trying to recover. For me that is what i am most looking forward too the danger feel and the ability to spend time with my kids so they can see what i went thru in everquest when i was there age. It's all about the family for me.

I am a very long time EQ player. What I love about EQ is what Pantheon is supposed to be. Its supposed to be endless content, challenging, multiplayer, singleplayer, community driven. I want to get lost into the world feel like I’m apart of it. Really have a new EQ I can spend my offtime enjoying with old friends. We are all waiting for pantheon and hope it lives up to brads dream.

Ever since it's announcement, I have been looking forward to it. One, for the nostalgic Everquest vibes, and the fact it was being made(not sure if right term here) by the man himself, the late Brad McQuaid. Some of my best memories of EQ are in the McQuaid era. The fact it is a social, group based, adventure excites me, and getting back to an old school feel. I see so much potential for it to be that solid group oriented, mmo, that can give me Everquest, but being something new, and not trodding through the same old zones, fighting boxes for spawns.

I miss the sense of danger from exploring a huge world. Not knowing what's in the horizon, or what they dropped. What sort of quests were there to uncover. Whether or not the guards would kill me if they saw me.
You just don't get that from modern gaming. I'm hoping Pantheon can help bring that back, and I would enjoy experiencing that first hand.

    Hello there
This game is the only MMorpg I wait for almost 8 years.
It is really my last hope to re feel the real MMorpg sensation in a new world
    Why ?
    - the strategy ( it is not only rushing mobs 4by4 with AOE spell or just double tap dodge to run)
    - the immersion ( the music; the night /day cycle; biomes)
    - the synergy with others (combine skills with your mate; making effective groups to farm etc..)
    - the challenge ( I want to die a lot , even at lvl 1 )
    - the grouping ( not like most of mmorpg ;now; where you play alone like 90% of the time )
Everything you need in a MMorpg and lost for a decade is in Pantheon

So many modern MMOs have basically become lobby games. Queue up in a city and get teleported wherever you need to go. Rush through a linear, one path dungeon as fast as you can. I'm really looking forward to the Pantheon team making a WORLD. I want adventure and exploration. Don't get me wrong, I've had a lot of fun in WoW, but compare a WoW dungeon to an EQ one. EQ's dungeons were labyrinthine and it was awesome. There was no prescribed path, just danger around every corner waiting to be explored. I really hope Pantheon can bring that back.

Completely agree!!!! O look found new town! Look a portal back to hub city… click click… sucks… EQ was great! Travel or could travel but had to find a wizard and spires to even fast travel! Which was not even close to some cities!

I miss the feel of a social MMO. I miss the original EQ. Eqemu and current live is all about boxing. It's not social. Not about enjoying the ride and exploring a new world. I miss that aspect of games. Finding a group and heading into a dungeon, or just open world camp and being a team. Where there is actual danger to just going alone. Not impossible to go alone, but better to work together. Where if you miss one day of grinding you're not suddenly 20 levels behind your friends/guild mates. Teamwork. I miss teamwork.

The reason that I am most ready to jump into Terminus is my desire to feel what It was like to dive into Norrath for the first time. After watching your adventure with Joppa into the spider den, the feeling of exploration and delving into the depths gave me serious Guk vibes and I long to experience a feeling like that again in a modern form. Other areas that I have seen you venture into with Joppa have driven my memory to recall my first adventure away from the Commonlands as a 11 year old circa the year 2000. I was a level 15 Paladin and had seen a slowdown in experience around East Commonlands. I had just come across some Bronze armor so, naturally, having my first Plate armor made me feel invincible. I decided to strike out towards West Commonlands and beyond. I shortly thereafter found myself in a bright forest. As I was running through the forest night fell. Suddenly I was being attacked by hordes of undead. I had stumbled into Kithicor Forest, the site of an ancient battlefield where at night the fallen soldiers return to life to wreck havoc on unsuspecting adventurers. I died, with no map of the zone on hand and no idea where my corpse was. I cried because I was too terrified to go back and look for my body... My corpse decayed with my brand new set of Bronze armor. It is stories like these that I see Terminus has the potential to provide, and I want so badly to share this sort of adventure with my Daughter along with my future Son who will be born in August. I feel without a doubt that the developers of Pantheon are making a world that will make this a reality.

I have been a huge fan of MMOs for many years. I found myself longing for an MMO with less rails and more of that free form game play that we had in games like EverQuest and Star Wars Galaxies. When I discovered Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, I was excited for the opportunity of a new world to adventure in where being the highest level wasn't where the game play really started. However, that would change over time, and while it wouldn't be completely forgotten, I would develop additional reasons to be excited for Pantheon.
The first new hook was cast out by a scholar of sorts in the community that goes by the name of Therek. His readings of the fantastical lore penned by JN Gerhart filled my mind's eye with spectacular tales of Terminus' past and the tumult that brought many of the races to it. I found myself enamored with the lore surrounding the Halflings in particular. At first, I was not wholly keen on them holding the name of Halfling as they are without harry feet and seemed far too wily and adventurous to be Halflings. Their story as written by JN made me reconsider what virtues make a Halfling. It also filled me with wonder as to what other stories JN has laid out for us to discover. How we will discover those lore threads is another reason I’m filled with anticipation for Pantheon.
The ways in which we will explore Terminus to find the lore are intriguing to say the least. The free form climbing is high on that list as very few MMOs have crafted a world where climbing will be as normal a movement option as sprinting and swimming. That isn’t the end of it though in Pantheon. Have a chasm to cross? Your druid group mate may have an answer to that with the help of nature! Feel the soft movement of air coming from a crack in that cave wall? The warrior at your side might be up to the challenge of breaking through! Pantheon is going to give us new ways of exploring the world that will really make it feel like an adventure with our friends. Though we will want to be careful, lest we find ourselves in too deep and under too much pressure.
It may not be the hottest game mechanic for some, but for me it is as cool as a cucumber. I’m talking about the climate system that will add to the sense of adventuring and danger in Terminus. I have a great appreciation that we will want to take a region’s climate into consideration before we set out to discover lost lore and interact with its natives. A world that is more than just a beautiful prop and beckons to those intrepid enough to explore it. That is something to be excited about.
In conclusion, the lore that has been crafted for this world, the unique and fun ways we will be able to explore it, and the potentially dangerous climates we will adventure within the world of Terminus have me excited for Pantheon Rise of the Fallen. A game where you don’t have to be max level to really start enjoying it. A game where you’re free to go . . . onward and upward.

The exciting part about Pantheon for me is the social aspect. The most fun I have had in MMOs lately has been in older ones like Everquest and FFXI. It is fun having the world actually be dangerous and needing friends to help you progress. In modern MMOs, it feels like like it is just one big rush to the endgame, and I don't get that feeling in older ones.

I've followed the games progress since inception and have been excited, I ran EQ back in the day, I am looking forward most to getting back in to an MMO that can bring back the feeling and community that was EQ. I miss the days of going from a squishy ranger to being able to offtank in raids! I have played mmo's since I was in 4th grade, and I was leading 54 and 72 man raids in EQ as a damn 6th and 7th grader! It was the best time of my life, gaming wise, and i've long searched to fill that void! I am on the cusp of trying to get the money together to get some of the higher pledges and hopefully fill that void! Thanks for the opportunite and always putting out sick content man!

I have been following Pantheon on and off since it was announced Initially with excitement and then the rollercoaster ever since. I would of preordered by now if my heart had its way but head always made me stick with my no preorder stance. What I am looking forward to would be getting together some people and actually having a knock-down, drag-out fight to get places but one with a fair penalty system. Tough but achieveable comes to mind like hour long dungeon crawls while having a bit of downtime inbetween the chaos to just chat with people and compare shiny loots.

I will actually be honest and say no, I continue to be less interested in the title and it's for developer reasoning that I get to this. I play and see Embers adrift and their team size. I see me and my one man band and know exactly what is being pumped out of unity and ur5. Don't get me wrong as a game developer I want studios to do well but I already support a few streamers and have learned from you guys the audience I should not be kind hearted. Only mt family give me a inch so I don't have any to give anyone else. Maybe the game play is dynamic and just out of site or maybe its just the top crust of turd floating in the pond. I focus my energy on penance and M&M. Hope it all goes well for you though red. Keep up the greatness.

most exiting thing for me personally is that they are bringing back the social side of MMOs, leveling through grouping creates friendships and bonds with other humans which has been lost to us for far too long, exploring a whole new world with a friend and sharing stories with one an other is something I miss about EQ the most, Thanks for uploading and streaming Pantheon btw

"They changed the freakin layout and it sucks and I hate it."
Seriously. What were they thinking?! 😡
Anyways... What makes me want to play Pantheon is that there are simply no other mmorpgs that have this type of game play style that isn't decades old. Ember's Adrift is probably the closest thing to a new mmo with challenging pve but it's made by a small team on a low budget, so it's not quite as complete or popular as one would like.
Vanguard: Saga of Heroes was the best successor to an EQ style game imo back in 2007. It had a huge world with a lot to cool places to explore, a good amount of classes/races, etc... but has since shut down and can't be played anymore(aside from a barebones incomplete emulator).
I want to play a mmo where I can actually die at lvl 1-5, not be handheld with hours of tutorial/story missions, actually play as a Cleric(so many mmo's now don't have healer classes or will just give mages some heal spells).
I tried Throne and Liberty recently and got to lvl 14 in like 4 hours just doing boring story mission after mission, just rushing from waypoint to waypoint, fighting things that don't even bring my hp bar under 75%. No reason to explore or group with anyone. It's crazy how they make boring single player rpgs and call them mmorpgs now.
Ok I'll stop ranting now. 😅

I want to play pantheon because it looks to bring back the excitement, the danger, the comradery in all aspects. One of my favorites times in eq was the danger of exploring with new group mates and knowing if we died we would lose our progress. This is what excites me tremendously.

I logged around 3k hours playing Vanguard: Saga of Heroes and have made friendships there that have lasted ever since. The reason I'm so excited to play Pantheon is very simple. It's because it's the first mmorpg since VG that's managed to excite me. Don't get me wrong, I've played at least twenty different mmorpgs over the years, but VG is the only one I've ever truly loved. But, Pantheon looks like it has every chance of becoming the second, and I cannot wait to get stuck in and check it out!

Since Vanguard was trash, I hope Pantheon isn't a "Vanguard 2.0". So for all of us OG EQ fanatics, will the real EQ 2 be Pantheon or Monsters & Memories? Let's find out!

Would absolutely love to get a chance to give this a go. Started playing Everquest on my dad's lap 25 years ago and have moved onto every major MMORPG with him.
The stories he would tell about existing in these worlds always captured my imagination, particularly one story about him finding a dwarf player in EQ, alone, by a river bank, who to seemingly no one, put in /say "*sigh*... I'm Sad", and while in stealth my dad proceeded to talk with this guy and ask him about why he was sad, and I feel like I've almost been chasing his high ever since haha. I'm hoping that Pantheon is a good return to form with those natural interactions and player agency

I played Everquest back in the day, shortly after its release for a few years and I really enjoyed my time with it. The way Joppa talks about the game in your interview videos reminds me of classic EQ and it has really peaked my interest in Pantheon. I have really fond memories of playing Everquest with my brother and nothing else i’ve played has felt like it in my opinion.
I thought about buying in to the Watcher’s pledge myself just to experience the game in its current state but I can’t really afford it so winning one of the pledges would be pretty cool but I’m also realistic and realize not everyone can win.
Anyways, I’ve been enjoying your content. I recently found your channel when I was researching playing project 1999, which I am currently playing off and on on the green server.
Thanks and keep up the good work! 👍

EverQuest was my home for many years. My husband and I played during the beta, day one of launch and almost every day for years until I wandered off during Lost Dungeons, though I have revisited EQ and EQ99 on occasion since. I have the original three promotional lithographs framed on the wall of my office alongside various other EQ art and figures.
I played Vanguard during beta and for several years after until it was taken away from us far too soon. It was pushed out the door too soon and did not get the dev love it deserved afterwards, but the roots were fantastic. SOE just never allowed it to grow.
While I've played a LOT of other mmorpg's, these will always be two of my favorites. I have always respected and admired Brad McQuaid's Vision and his works.
I backed the failed Pantheon kickstarter and I've been watching it every since. I was saddened by the loss of McQuaid and everything he might have brought to the industry in the future and I continue to hold a torch in the hopes that his Vision will continue to live on in the development of Pantheon.
That's why I want to play. I love mmorpg's, but even more - I have always loved the works that McQuaid played a part in creating.

I’m excited to get back to what MMO’s use to be. Grouping with people and making friends while killing enemies and saving the day. Pantheon as an MMO has given me so much hope for having a similar experience I had in my youth. For years after FFXI, I truly believed that maybe that feeling could not be rekindled. Following this game gave me so much hope, and recently seeing streamers like yourself dive in has fully rekindled that.
Group play, exploration, death penalty, camping, named mobs, skill up groups. I miss all these aspects that I have been watching exist! I would really love to experience it.

Like others here, I am an OG Everquest vet. I go back to P99 every couple years and nothing comes close to EQ classic. Something about the social structure combined with the difficulty which required players to be interdependent on others is what made it such a great experience. I know this is Pantheon's vision and am just hoping that they can nail it.

Honestly I'm just interested in seeing Brad's sort of extended visuon of what EQ style gameplay could be in the modern day. I expect it to feel more like Vanguard than EverQuest, which isn't a bad thing at all. But as you all know, MMOs are such an inconsistent genre and you never really know until you play one yourself, if it's going to be s new home or not. Looking forward to the rest of that interview.

As someone that started playing MMO's in August of 1999 I need to get that itch scratched with playing a Game that immerses me into the world, that does not have adds popping up or a real life Cronos crap that pollutes EQ. I want a true death penalty for people being knuckleheads and not knowing the game. I want a monthly subscription to weed out some of the griefers and bad actors. I want being in a guild to mean something and to build relationships upon. I want Pantheon. I want a game that require a grind, you have to earn what you get, a keying system of sorts and specific tactics on mobs in lieu of Tank and Spank. lastly, dammit Joppa, I want Halfling clerics. You had an undead area at the Halfling home city back in the day - how would you handle them if not with clerics. Druids would not do it. Change the lore and let me get my Halfling cleric back.

I have supporter access, so I get a week every 6 weeks. In Season 1, I had 2 days that I could play. There are a few things I like (dual wielding Shadowknights and both offensive and defensive targets, combat resources that regen from combat), but what I enjoyed and look forward to the most is the "newness". There is something to be said for logging in without any knowledge of what you are going to see. No higher level toons to inherit items from, no maps, no pre-existing knowledge of where the hubs are. Kind of a lame "favorite", but this is what gave me the most joy the first time and I look forward to continued exploration.

Honestly the reason I play MMOs basically comes down to the simple fact that I’ve been changing the dragon, the same as any other junkie. Except im chasing a nostalgia dragon, trying to relive those feelings of when I first play Dark Age of Camelot, Asherons Call, and the original Vanilla WoW!! I’ve been following pantheon since the news first broke about its existence! I loved going on vox and naggy raids, exploring the plane of hate and fear, grouping up for hours in seb or guk. I've been waiting for years to recapture that magic but no game has come close (other then vanguard I suppose, but we all know what happened there). That is a very interesting question to ask a bunch of gamers. Why do you want to play? Pantheon specifically, but allow me to answer generically. It all started a long time ago in a dungeon... I was a sophomore in high school. Games Club was an official after school activity, where the teacher/Club sponsor was the DM. Learning that you shouldn't make wishes without thinking is something I learned that year among other things.
Fast forward to today. Well, not exactly today, but you get the picture. Most games are built with the concept that you can solo most of the content and that you really don't need to be part of something bigger to get things done and or have fun.
I miss sitting around a big table and discussing how we were going to get passed the traps and then take on the dragon. To be clear, not an ancient dragon, I mean we were low levels. It was more of a drake.
My point is most of the MMOs are built or have been "converted" to single player games. I doubt there is a game out there that you can't run solo to max level. I hope that Pantheon brings back some of the group play. I think it is truly needed.

I actually don't want to win a pledge, because I want Pantheon to be the game I once started mmorpging in. The exciting feeling of not knowing where to go, what to expect and with so much exploration you just giddy around like a kid on Christmas. I am really looking forward to Pantheon being all that. Safe journeys traveler!

I'm excited to play Pantheon because its theme represents exploration into the unknown, on both internal and external frontiers - All the best RPGs I've played instill a deep sense of mystery and wonder, that lasts. My favorite RPGs left me wondering, for years... In fact for the rest of my life, about the meaning in life and the symbolism that is possible for this medium to represent. That's what my early gaming experiences did for me, and that's what I always look for in the next game that will be consuming my time. With the small team they have, I'm not sure how deep the experience can get - but I am hoping the expansions benefit the fundamentals of the game and community, in a way that EQ's expansions did not.

I want to play Pantheon because it looks like it will have the same feeling that I had when I started playing Everquest when it first came out (I'm still playing, by the way). I have been waiting and looking for the spiritual successor for Everquest for many years and I believe Pantheon will be it. I will definitely be there when it launches but I am hoping to get into testing through this giveaway. Thanks for doing this for us!

The thing that's got me excited the most is playing with randos in a new world. The environment in old school style MMOs hits different, and people tend to just be nicer and more relaxed when grouping up and leveling together. Modern MMOs tend to have more toxicity so I only prefer to play with friends, but I never would have met some of them if it wasn't for games like Everquest and Ultima Online.

I have been playing MMOs for what seems like my whole life. EQ was my first love. 8 years in EQ. many friends made, some lost. I followed briefly to EQ2 but it wasnt quite right. I enjoyed Vanguard for its short lifespan. I had high hoped for Everquest Next. So having then seen Brad set out and make visionary realms in an attempt to make his vision come to life, I had followed Pantheon since its inception. A lot has changed for them. and while the spirit of his game is there, im excited to see this thing get up and rolling and see what it is all about. maybe a return to the days of old is what we need into the genre, a reminder of our roots. maybe those games that have fallen before, are grown over and buried for a reason. I dont know, but I am excited to see how this one plays out.

Love to see an attempt to bring back the nostalgia of EQ1 before WOW came out. Hopping it does not come with lagging while on a boat and then getting stuck in the ocean but I digress, lol. I started EQ two months after launch and instantly regretted not getting it at launch. At times I even played on a small 12" Texas Instruments modular laptop on dialup of all things during my lunch break at work while on nightshift (and sometimes during lulls of course). Hope this brings back some of those old feelings again and I can get some of my friends and family to join in this time.

Like many others here, I played EQ when I was in high school back when it was a new game. I got my brothers and my dad into it after a while, and we would spend hours just messing around and exploring. Not "power gaming" or min-maxing, just exploring and having fun. Now we're all grown with families and jobs, we don't even live in the same state anymore. One of my brothers mentioned this game to me and it made me very nostalgic for those old times. I'm excited and hopeful that Pantheon can inspire some of that old feeling.

I'm excited for Pantheon because of the mystery in its world. Having to explore not only the 2D plane but the 3D one. Giving me more to find when I level and can come back to a zone and climb that ledge, dive deeper into the water, and find the mysteries that were previously just so ever out of my reach. I can't wait to explore the world of Pantheon!

I would love to try the game for the old school nostalgia! The same thing often discussed on this channel. The first time I went to a friend’s house and he was playing EQ with a buddy next to him I was absolutely hooked. I was amazed that they were 1. Playing with each other and this wasn’t a console and 2. There were other real players in the world.
I ran home that day, ordered a PC from Dell and not so patiently awaited its arrival.
Like a lot of us, I have been playing MMO’s ever since then just searching for that original feel of sitting down and getting lost in that world. Pantheon seems to me that it has that old school, slow paced feel. However, I am not currently in a place to have the extra funding to pledge.

Thank you for the giveaway! I played EQ since day 1 for a couple of years and return to it again and again. Since Pantheon is (or at least was at the beginning of it's development) filled with the spirit of Brad McQaid, i really hope to get to see the last game he ever worked on. My money is on Pantheon giving me once again the escapism and an immersion into a world like EQ did back in the days. Also, and most importantly, I'm looking forward to find new likeminded friends and nerds, who share this passion!

Thanks for doing this Redbeard, I would like to try and win one of these so here is my reasons for following Pantheon for so long. I started playing mmos when ultima online came out and was obsessed with that game. I started playing everquest in 2000 and made real longtime friends in that game. Eq1 was more than just a game it was something I looked forward to playing with friends almost every day. It was this challenging giant world to explore and you had to have friends you could trust to group with to progress and thats what really made it special and addictive. I see Pantheon bringing back this type of game play and that same type of community where you have to have real friends to play with to really enjoy the game and that is why I am soo looking forward to Pantheon. Its more than just a game to me. Thanks for all the great videos you make and keep it up! Onward and upward =)

I've followed Pantheon for years believing in the dream of a true spiritual successor to EverQuest, but with all the stuff that's happened over the last year, I lost faith in VR and in Pantheon. However, in a video you posted a couple of months about VR opening up testing, you said you got to play the game and could sense the promise in it, that it was the game you've wanted for years, and I really want to have that faith, too. So I want to play Pantheon because I really want to believe in it again.

Pantheon mmo reminds me of everquest when I was a little kid my brother friend introduced us to everquest and it changed our life we played together and I try to be say I am sick so I don’t have to go to school middle school so I can play everquest I always keep the feed quest stategy guid in my back pack me and my brother became really close. Alot of great memories. Every time I load up everquest I think of old times. Now I have a small family now and would love to create that memory with my little baby now. Also the social aspect of everquest feels unquie it felt like real life got to know lot of people and made great friends. I feel like pantheon will be that way as well. I hope pantheon will have a longevity so my son can create memories like I did as well. It’s hard to explain what is dear to my heart. This will be the only game that will truly affect my life.

Let me first say, i think the giveaways you do are great for those games and you need a huge pad on the back for that.
Now, what excites me about Pantheon, and i'll keep it short. I hope this can give me the old feeling of community that EverQuest gave me over so so many years as well as the opportunity to explore a brand new world, made by people who seems to have an idea about what makes a game interesting and fun. New places, dungeons, monsters and challenges and of course, numerous deaths.
