Love your video. If you use the temperature probe and you want a steak that is well done and one that is medium rare I’m going to assume the probe goes into the medium rare one. And you would remove the medium rare steak first. Does the ninja continue to cook the other steak after you put the top back down or do you have to do some sort of reset to continue the grilling?
Yes, first add probe to the medium rare. You can then remove and insert the probe into the well done piece to continue cooking, but you will need to select the well done option so it knows how long to continue to cook for. Hope that helps!
I love the fact that you focused mainly on the food and grill and not all of these stories that drag on forever. You actually cooked quiet a bit, things I was interested in, you covered everything. Thank you so much! I’m going to go to Costco and buy one now. Your video and cooked foods convinced me of it, as I was debating wether or not I should get one and if it would be worth it. Again, thank you 😊❤️ Liked and subscribed.
Ninja should pay you to make a demonstration video as what you have shown is MUCH clearer and informative than their own UA-cam or website videos/manuals/etc. Many thanks!

@@MeemReviews l got it in on Tuesday but have been too sick to open up the box. Just saw your video about cleaning and the grease problem and wonder if I should send it back. It’s also bigger than I thought it would be.

I think I have been researching for five hours!!! I'm so ugh🤪 from it. I'm in Australia and most of the air fryer advice is from America. I was down to this Ninja air fryer or the PowerXL 6q 500F. The Ninja won out due to the coating of it and cleaning. My son will probably use it more than me but I will definitely love it for what I cook. Thank you for your effort and time in this review ❤😊.
Thank you for your review. I got mine as a Christmas gift and your video helped me to get started using it, good tip on cleaning out the internal parts before first use.
You're welcome! Yeah, everyone is so excited to jump right they always forget to clean these things first. I've done it in ALL my videos, the amount of dirt that comes of these when they're brand new. Shocking!
Thank you so much! Such a great informative video. I found one of these bad boys on sale for $79 and was thinking of picking one up. Thanks to your video I’m definitely going to get one. Thanks again for taking the time to cook a variety of different foods. 😊
Hello love the video. I'm a soldier and this appliance has saved me so many times. I have stayed in many barracks rooms where there is no stove top or oven. I have had my NinjaFoodie for over 2 years and I love it to death. My biggest gripe is that once you really start using this thing a lot you will begin to get crazy grease build up even with cleaning it and once you start to get that hard grease it's nearly impossible to remove. My flash guard has spots were the opening are clogging don't get me started about the grill and the roast pot. So putting an aluminum tray inside it and then will line that with tin foil just to prevent even more grease havoc. So how to I truly remove the grease? So I can once again use it as it was intended.
You can try soaking your splash guard in a mixture of water, white vinegar, baking soda and dawn dish soap it will get the grease out very well. Use hot water. Use it as a paste for the other parts with a cloth.
@Eximoz I have now discovered Vim or Cif (depending on where you live its called by a different name) that really helps get grease off using a scrub brush so you don't scratch the tray and roast pot. Stay safe.
Thank you very much for your review. I've been looking to finally get an indoor grill/air fryer to replace my trusty but time to replace George Foreman grill (I've had it for years!). On the strength of your review and another UA-camr that also reviewed this grill, I am going to buy one.
I am new to your channel; I love your video. I have been looking for an air fryer that does it all. What is the highest temperature this Ninija Foodi goes up to for roasting, grilling, and air frying?
That's awesome! I'm so glad I could help you decide. I love mine and use it every day! Please consider purchasing from my Amazon affiliate link at no additional cost to you, just a small commission for me paid by Amazon. amzn.to/41nWHqg
I would recommend a coat of oil to prevent food sticking. I used Canola oil spray, but you can also just brush the oil on if you don't have a spray bottle.
Are the baskets coated in non-stick materials? My understanding is that non stick is no good after about 350 degrees before it starts releasing chemicals due to the heat.
I’m wondering 💭 f it has a bigger cooking surface than the 7qt gourmia air fryer (both at Costco). Also - this one has fewer temperature choices (goes from 375 to 390 - no 380 or 385). Is that a problem?
Surprisingly it's about the same, considering this is 4QT. since this is rectangle shaped I find I can lay more down, for example when I make burger patties I can fit in 4, and in the Gourmia I can fit in just about 4 patties too, or 3 big ones. Re the temperature, honestly, there isn't a huge difference between, you don't notice it. I cook mostly on 390 or 375. food comes out perfect, i think these are the optimal cooking temperatures. Hope that helps.
The heating element in the XL unit is not as large as the one in the original smaller unit, somewhat of a ripoff. You can't cook a larger chicken in the XL because the pan is not as deep.
The large, solid pot should be in place for all modes to collect the grease. It looks like you put soapy water into the silver pan; that is not a safe thing to do. Keep the big pan in there while cooking, then remove and wash it, not the stationary silver pan.
I find roasting it for 30 mins on 390F, then lower the temp to 375F for 10-15 mins (depending on the size of the chicken) works best, the outside won't burn and the inside will cook to perfection with no pinkness. Hope that helps!
I used 350F in the video with the thermometer, but now I don't bother with that. I like to roast it for 390F for 30-40 minutes depending on the size of the chicken. Comes out perfect and crisp! You have to try a few times to get it right!
Thank you for this review. I recently bought one as an impulse buy and so far I used it to make homemade fries, which came out awesome. Going to try chicken breasts today.
Hello. Have you had any problem with your Ninja touch buttons so far? I have read some UA-camrs complaining about unresponsive buttons (particulary the temperature up and down arrows).
No, the thinner piece would've overcooked otherwise. You want to take the thinner one out first as soon as it is done. You can always move the probe to the thicker piece afterwards, but since I have good judgement, I decided to save myself the trouble!
One comment on clean up: I would wait for grease to cool, then wipe first with a paper towel or pour into a can, then wash, or you may end up with an unwanted plumbing bill from grease build up in you pipes...dts/usa
if you wanted to airfry instead of grill the steak? I don't see why not.. just lay the fries on half side of the basket and the steak on the other, cook at 390F, but your fries will take about 10-12 mins, steak all depends on your liking so you will have to remove the first cooked item and then continue cooking the other item. hope that helps!
Awesome review!!! But just a helpful hint...u don't leave the thermometer in the meat while it's inside. That'll will ruin it. You're supposed to just stick it into the thickest part of the meat/poultry to check the internal temperature.
Thank you. Ninja have designed this so the temp probe stays in the meat to let us know when the internal temp has been reached rater than us guessing it, takes the guess work away.
The inability to nest the baskets and the grill for storage is super frustrating. I haven’t used it yet but was contemplating returning it just for that reason. Such a bad design flaw for something that could have easily been done.

I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
Love your video. If you use the temperature probe and you want a steak that is well done and one that is medium rare I’m going to assume the probe goes into the medium rare one. The heating element in the XL unit is not as large as the one in the original smaller unit, somewhat of a ripoff. You can't cook a larger chicken in the XL because the pan is not as deep.
Oh, interesting! Thanks for sharing! Wondering why it's called XL.....
The large, solid pot should be in place for all modes to collect the grease. It looks like you put soapy water into the silver pan; that is not a safe thing to do. Keep the big pan in there while cooking, then remove and wash it, not the stationary silver pan.
Thank you, but no, that's not what I did, not sure where you think you saw me do that.
Shame was see how baking would work. Looks decent size for a family of 4. Which is what I am looking for most not big enough usually for 2.
you can easily get 4 chicken breast pieces in. It's suitable for 2-4 people i think. depends on quantity you cook, there is also the XL size.
Thank you. Great job!

How long did roasting the whole chicken take?

How would you even roast a whole chicken in there the pan doesn’t look deep to fit a whole chicken

You don't need to. I never have, cleaning is so easy anyway, it's non-stick.
How long and at what temperature you barbecue the whole chicken ?
I used 350F in the video with the thermometer, but now I don't bother with that. I like to roast it for 390F for 30-40 minutes depending on the size of the chicken. Comes out perfect and crisp! You have to try a few times to get it right!

if you wanted to airfry instead of grill the steak? I don't see why not.. just lay the fries on half side of the basket and the steak on the other, cook at 390F, but your fries will take about 10-12 mins, steak all depends on your liking so you will have to remove the first cooked item and then continue cooking the other item. hope that helps!

I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
yes, I agree it's awesome!
