😇And what a beautiful large head you have 🥰 So cute...
Thanks man, I was feeling kinda defeated because I didn’t have the success I wanted (it’s my first go at gardening) I do well with house plants so I thought what the hell...anyways, thanks for the vids, keep killing it.
This topic can be redone this with your choices for this year
Nice didnt know you had a website
5 plants to start in your country, environment, climate. Not everyone lives where you do.
Casually mentioning his childhood trauma while discussing basil 😆😅 *sending hugs*
Yet he is so handsome and smart💙
Big heads on men are attractive.
He grew into it very handsomly!
I agree @Anouk, I caught the ‘I’m healed but I remember’ with the childhood trauma! 😆
Love how you are thriving and teaching us gardening methods and skills! 👏🏽
Jealousy is a mf’er! Bless up!
@Boston Guy an oddly specific joke though 😅🤣🤣
"There's no point in not trying." My new favorite quote.
I didn’t know the Property Brothers had another brother.
Lol
The property Brothers are actually triplets
Hes more handsome than Property Bros.
They do and he's emo
@@user-kw4xb5vd4l omg right?💗

Thank you
Ive just planted some black beauty mini watermelon in a container and will grow them vertically on my balcony. Its going to be my experiment for this summer. The seeds have sprouted, I hope the plants are good!
@@susiex6669 good luck! I'm growing Sweet Jubilee watermelon in my garden right now and it's getting so big!!
I have always planted carrots and beets in mid July for canning they are much sweeter when harvested in late autumn. The earlier planting we eat fresh. This plan has been very successful for us.
I love beets so this is a great recommendation! Will try this!
Dude! This is EXACTLY the type of info I need, even if I may try other things because I'm stubborn. PLEASE do this every month, forever 💓
The last point you made at 3:50 is super important.
Even if its not the right growing season grow it anyways and try it out.
You will know what the plant at least looks like, and you know conditions when it will be stressed (too cold to hot).
You might be very surprised by what you can get away with growing where you live!
I agree. And if you grow some of the newer plants in a container, you can always take them indoors if frost comes early. I bought inexpensive grow lights on Amazon so if one of my planted containers arent quite done in the early Fall, Ill place them inside the patio doors or in the kitchen and use the grow light if needed.
Perfect timing. I just prepared my yard for gardening. I was hoping there was still time. Fyi our phone are listening to us, because this post popped up in my feed today. Just saying yall.
They listen to my thoughts too somehow
👀Careful now! Don’t wanna end up like Snowden.
You simply searched or looked at something related on a platform that shares data with UA-cam. Happens all the time to me after watching UA-cam videos and then going onto Instagram(for example).
I was talking to my friend about board games. I couldn't remember the name of this one game so I described it to him and he told me the name. About 2 hours later I was scrolling through my news feed and an ad showed up for that game. I didn't use my phone to search for it, there was nothing in my phone related to board games. Just a conversation I had with a friend, and then suddenly... Kind of creepy.
@@bryanh5097 super creepy. Something happened like that to me too and it wasn't seasonal guess like this video.
Love this outlook and attitude about growing! We need not limit ourselves to three or four months out of the whole year. There are truly so many possibilities, no matter where we are. Thanks for spreading that, and always thinking outside the box. :)
Thank you for being an inspiration to me being a new gardener! I was going to give up planting since I've always felt that I'm trying to keep up and running behind the times of planting etc.. but what you just said about keep on trying really made me feel a lot better and.... I will keep trying and planting just to see what happens! Blessings to you!!!
Going go try to maybe a bunch of herbs.
Thank you for sharing your suggestions. This is my first time gardening and appreciate every suggestion given.
Good point. Especially for newer gardeners the worst case scenario in planting late is you learn more about that plant so when next year comes you will be more successful.
I literally just planted basil, lettuce, beets and melon...Then this video popped up in my suggestions! 👀😅😂😱
Love this idea! More options of later start plants, I would also love to see some suggestions or plans for succession beds you've tried. Congrats on the new home!
My hubby told me about Papalo and I was like what!? Never seen it or heard of it and I'm mexican! I was pleasantly surprised by this handsome man. I will grow some now.
July 2021 and I just found out about a whole bunch of great plants I've never even heard of before! Thanks!
basil is a great tip for planting now. we grow it inside year round and love it!
Fantastic!
This is timely Kevin! You are answering a question that I asked myself yesterday. I will head to Menards and see what seed they have left.
I once grew cannabis outdoor late in July, didn’t get the best weed but still worked
I just planted some Minnesota midget cantaloupes last week. Your garden is awesome! Thanks for the great videos!
I always grow basil . I love it. I make tomato/basil sandwiches, pesto, add it to my water, to pizza and to my cooking of course . I can’t wait for my tomatoes to ripen!!
Thanks for sharing. More series like this please... what to plant to get ready for a season or upcoming season, etc.
Gardening is such a good place to get peace of mind!
This is the first video of yours I'm watching. I needed a photograph of the things you wanted us to think about. Other than that, nice and important topic. Thumb up and I subscribed.
Big heads means there's more room for knowledge! You're good bro
I’m new! What a nice, short, informational, and relatable video. Subscribing.
Thank you so much for these tips. I can't wait to try the papalo and tiny watermelon. So excited
MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS PLS, I ALWAYS FORGET WHEN TO PLANT WHAT
What a great idea! I could really use one of these for every month!!!!
I just planted some cucumber, bean, and pumpkin seeds this week. I was injured at the beginning of the spring season and am just now well enough that I can clear space and plant a seed or two every day. I am a firm believer in "why not try". At worse, I may lose a few seeds I already have, but I gain more by getting outside in the sun and getting a little exercise.
Thanks for the recommendations. I thought I would have to wait until next year again. Its good to know you can still grow things going into the fall.
👍 Great episode as ALWAYS. I ❤ my garden and y'alls in this channels community. I get a plethora of ideas and knowledge from here. Thank you 🙏.
I have spinach, tomatoes, tomatillos, and others growing out of our compost from last year's seasons, that we spread along my garden this spring. Last year combining forces with all the food plants this year is making for a colorful July 🌱🌼🐝🍉🍅
Thank you! I love experimental gardening and you just inspire that side more. Great recommendations! 😊
Is it a secret code that the video’s time is 420? A crop to grow in July...420.
I second this
Thirds from me!
...in the shade it’s perfect clone weather ...
I was born on 4/20. The year was 1979. Btw... 420 was also Hitler's birthday😭😭
Not if you are growing outdoors. It will flower too late when it's rainy and cold and get bud rot. Indoor you can grow any time of year.
1:45 that is growing very well and delicious cilantro lemon zest flavor!
Timely video as I was bumming on my cilantro bolting again! Thanks!
You know the crazy thing.. YT recommended this to me a year after in July.. nice
Good thing this video is there. I live in LA too, so I know it is relevant. TY papamama
I'm surprised you know about Papalo! You definitely earned my like and I just subscribed!
Thank you for the encouragement !!! I was sooo sad that my early season garden plans haven't turned out the way I hope because... Life... And being a new lazy gardener but I really want to grow my own food!!
OK! I am not the only one! Thank you so much for your post.
My favorite phrase is "If at First, I don't succeed......Then I Try Again" I am going to try restarting my Watermelon plant. The first one wasn't doing so well. I had 3 in one large pot, and it became root bound. Like you said, the worst that will happen, is not trying at all....or something like that. Thank you for your videos. I'm learning a lot in what to do so this next batch can grow better.....1 plant, 1 large pot! 😁
Omg!!!! I love popolos! Didn't even think about growing them ... I mostly eat them when I travel to Mexico! THEY ARE DELICIOUS!
Gabriela Vargas 👋😃✌️Papalo, muchacha hermosa ❤️
Also, biiiiig cilantro fan here 👋 👧 and i have a very real love/hate relationship with how this wimpy ass plant bolts so easily ( haha). I will say, though...coriander seeds dried up, ground up, and used as a spice is one VeRy flavorful bonus from the bolting...so I really can't be too mad!! Lol.
Anyway though!!
So....POPPOLO ?! WHAT!!
HOW in the heck have I come this far in my life and this is the first I'm hearing of this???!!?
*/pulls out my handy dandy notebook*
Hehehe :-)
Hey -- thanks again for all that you constantly share with everybody , good sir! Cheers .
Thank you for summer fun planting ideas
I have two different type of basil plants but I’d like to grow lettuce leaves basil, too! Nice haircut!
I live in Missouri. Summers are brutally hot, winters are cold. I love Swiss chard. At the end of the year, I’d mulch it and let it overwinter, uncover it in the spring and get a second crop of early greens. Then it would bolt.
Thank you for sharing your ideas.
I'm a new subscriber and I enjoy your videos.
The Mexican in me screaming at the Papalo recommendation 😂 love it! 🥰❤️💯
I might give those beans a dry. We love green beans. I started some half runners and for whatever reason they are doing pretty meh right now. I grow them every year and always rotate my crops. We had a crazy spring/early summer where it was literally winter temperatures one day and 90+ degrees the next. My grand parents always used to can green beans and of course they passed that on to me.
I have a spot in my garden that will be vacant as soon as it stops raining long enough to dig my potatoes up. I also got some lovely compost waiting to be applied to said garden.
Exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you!
I never thought to hear about papalo outside of Mexico... that's it, subscribed! ☺👍
Never even heard of it in mexico. Where at in mexico?
@@arthurragan1332 mostly in the center of the country, unfortunately not all taco places/restaurants offer it, coriander is more know and used. If you go to a local grosery store sure you'll find some
@@DancerSakura I lived in Michoacan and Jalisco for 10 years, never heard of it and I am in food buisiness. My wife is from Mexico and also doesn't know. I'm going to look for seeds online, sounds cool
Perhaps she never visited a local market (los llamados mercados o días de plaza) it's most likely to find it there. It's nutritious but a little bit bitter.
www.elsoldemexico.com.mx/doble-via/quelites-verdolagas-y-papalo-en-peligro-de-desaparecer-por-su-bajo-consumo-4666403.html
@@DancerSakura we would do all our shoppingin the tianguis every Tuesday. I would go to mercado abastos every week in Guadalajara because I managed 6 restaurants. Maybe they had it and I never noticed. We also lived in like 6 different places. Anyway, I just ordered a pack of seeds on Amazon
Oh snap you know about papalo. My grandma loves them, she snuck some in from Puebla 😂
Potatoes can be sowed now in July and harvested late fall/early winter before snow comes! Atleast we do that here in Sweden :) also Kale! Kale can grow even when frost has come.
Swiss chard is so so good. We cook it with sautéed onions and add our favorite tomato sauce … mix with farfalle pasta (or your favorite). ~ Maria
Papalo is my summer favorite!!!
Thank you so much for reinvigorating my green thumbs!
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing this info.
Love your videos!!!! It’s like an old friend is talking to me
Your head is beautiful, that's what make you to be you, no one else can be you. YOU ARE EXCELLENT. Be joyful and stay away from the HATEFUL.
Thank you so much for your videos
Lol me too called “big head”🥺😄 great video thx!
Great info, thanks
That's so true, might as well try instead of losing time!
Excellent info, thank you!
Awesome video loved the tips
I wish you would toss in more up close shots of the plants you are talking about as you chat about them. It would help me grasp the ideas you are bringing up. Just a tip! Thanks for the good info though.
Cilantro for summer growing: culantro. It tastes like cilantro, but not as tender of a leaf and has a stronger flavor; they do not look the same, and it grows like a weed. Cubans use it often.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Beautiful Video and thank you for sharing !!
Love the advice! Thanks!
I think your head is the right size , some people are just so jealous and hateful when they’re young ! I’m going to try some of the tiny little watermelon . Thanks!!!
Great video bud. Always a lot to learn. Let’s see if Jim Duffy turns you into a pepper head like the rest of us. I’ve learned there are peppers for every one. Over a thousand verities and growing every day.
AND... your hair's on point. Thanks for the tips.
I might give the golden midget watermelon a try. I was gonna try summer crisp lettuce because the vegetation on my tomato plants, pepper plants, and herbs is lush and a very deep jungle green, but I might have missed my window unless I can find some started already...plus I only have a patch in my garden maybe about the size of a car door left to work with anyways because I'm gonna plants a patch of flowers in my garden with my daughter. I just did a small garden this year, tilled by hand, and put A LOT of work into it. I got 9 tomato plants that are healthy and full of green tomato bulb and flowers, 1 bell pepper plant, 2 hot Chille pepper plants (I had a lot of pepper plants wilt away from something they didn't like around mid June), I have a 2 1/2 by 6 foot patch of onion sets, a little area with onion sprouts I'll use for sets next year amd habanero sprouts I'll move indoors in September, a little patch for herbs; so far just Parsley and Oregano, then I have a small patch reserved for flowers and a small patch for one more crop. Definitely gonna try and get my hands on the dwarf watermelon u mentioned if possible. Next year I plan to do double the garden space. Thanks for your videos, they have been helpful to me in only my second year ever doing a garden on my own and first time in 6 years.
Thank you Kevin! ❤️
Omg at first sight I thought you didn't have any pants on lol
Your head seems perfectly sized to the rest of you....I get the scars though... young people can be especially cruel...I experienced that myself. I appreciate this video... new raised beds gardener this year and I was itching to plant more but thought it was too late for anything! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the tips. I think I'll go and buy some chard plants tomorrow to replace the lettuce we harvested.
Can't wait to add to my garden!
I planted pumkin seeds and they sprouted July 28 and I got sweet basil two bell pepper plants and tomatoes already fruiting at the store
I was surprised that you didn’t mention growing ginger. I just put it in a Ziploc with a paper towel after soaking it for a bit outside since it’s hot, it sprouts and then I bring it back inside where I can control the lighting better.
Great job kid!!!
Beautiful info ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for posting the photos of lettuce leaf basil. I was curious how big it can grow. I love it when you mention your fave varieties to grow. I would love if you could tell us where you buy your seeds. I have had trouble finding seeds for some of your recommendations.
I really like the red Malabar spinach & New Zealand spinach!!😋👍🏼
great suggestions
I planted another round of cucumbers, winter squash and lemongrass and they're coming up nicely! Worst case, they won't have enough time, best case they will 🤷🏿♀️. Never heard of the cilantro alternative, thank you!
You bet - good luck!
Pumpkin and other melons grow well right now in Texas.
Thanks for the info...
Such a dream boat😍😍😍
I just started some cactus and succulents 😍
Papalo is pretty good. I've seen people selling their harvest, and the plants where really big and leafy.
In this video, you look interview ready(minus the blazer). I like it!
I was worried I shouldn't have sown more dragon tongue beans this late in the season, I'm so relieved now! Lol. Now I know there's real potential for squeezing in an extra harvest. Most of them sprouted today along with some Lima beans :)
With April, May, June and Half of July shot..I am scrambling to get beans, zucchini, cucumbers, and Swiss chard in. I am growing some lettuce indoors, and will start some spinach, bok choy and cress next week.
Go go go go go!
Thank you, i am glad i found your site - can i grow these in pots? or in the ground - God bless you for sharing - Houston, TX
In Belize (south of Mexico) we use Culantro as a Cilantro substitute.
Today a heavy hailstorm destroyed all 3 of our gardens... so... 😭 thank you for this inspiration, I will try again
That is frustrating. Gardens are so much work.
Jeff Steadman 🙏 It actually ended up much better than I thought. Almost all veggies survived it. We lost half cherries and plums but some remained. Roses are done though 🤭 My Ruth Stout experimental garden survived it, miraculously, almost without scratch.
How about another segment on bugs eating plants. Holes on my mini eggplant leaves. ☹️ my purple beans leaves have white spots. Double 😔😔
