Half deaf, three quarters blind, almost skeletal, few teeth, serious old-lady-nails, covered in benign growths, has 'absences' and has to be jump-started with a gentle touch and my second longest serving friend. I've never thought of her as my dog, you don't really own Salukis, but she's shared my life for so long she can have whatever she likes now. At her age any consideration of a healthy diet is irrelevant and I just go for calories and whatever she can and will eat which is mostly human food. She's quite happy and as long as she's happy I'm happy. When she goes I'll certainly miss her immensely but I'll never feel I was short changed.
