I think we have explored the real-world Batman enough and it is time to move on to a fantastical Batman in the DCU. Reeves' Batman would be out-of-place, underwhelming and underdeveloped in the DCU.
I get the perspective that the Matt Reeves Batman is ‘too grounded.’ But, I think that version of Batman could grow into the full world of a DC Universe. We saw this happen with Batman The Animated Series on through to Justice League Unlimited. Batman in BtAS starts with Catwoman and terrorists and his story ends in JLU with him fighting Darkseid.
yea i get Gunn has been filming all year for Superman starting in february then peacemaker right after. on top of looking at scripts and getting them ready to shoot like Supergirl, lanterns and clayface but i think once they have a script for BATB then there will be a new director maybe

They can just do a time jump on The Batman 3 and introduce metahuman mentions on The Batman 2 and say that was the beggining of Bruce's acting like Batsy. But idk if James or Matt really wants that, seems like something that David Zaslav would ask them to do. They can't flop this time, they have to make DC profitable, the DCEU and 2024 WB's calendar bleed so mucu money.

Gunn debunked that. James Gunn stated and I am paraphrasing here, that he contemplated it at the start and he would have been stupid not to think of a way BUT he is committed to having both DCU and Elseworlds as separate entities. It just gives alot more oppurtunities to tell other DC stories without a Cinematic Universe chain. Marvel should be taking notes. Not everything needs to be connected. My favourite comics at the moment is the Absolute Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman stuff. And damn it would be cool to see those adapted to screen someday.

I agree 100% with Campea that James Gunn has to get Andy Muschietti under control. But I disagree that this looks bad for the new DCU. If Muschietti is let go from directing the DCU Batman, I think DC fans worldwide will be celebrating. Let a more capable director helm the brave and the bold. Muschietti's sensibilities are more in line with a project like Booster Gold or something like that. I would rather James Gunn himself write and direct Batman: Brave and the Bold. This movie is just as important to the new DCU as Superman.
I'm betting that James Gunn decides himself to direct The Brave & The Bold himself and he'll probably take a break in directing after that. He did say he was directing Superman to set the tone and "start" the universe and in many ways, it seems like James Gunn has a very specific vision for his Batman story (Bat-family, Damian Wayne) he will probably let other people direct other movies but those 2 heroes are in many ways the two tallest pillars of the DC universe. They are foundational heroes. If you can get a good start for both of them it might be easier to edit and course correct them to the finish line with other directors in the sequels.
Moving WWE to Netflix sounds cool, but I think it might hurt their fanbase, especially in places like India. WWE has been on Sony Entertainment for over 20 years, and that’s how most fans here watch it-on cable or streaming. Switching to Netflix could mean losing a lot of viewers who aren’t used to or can’t access it easily. WWE really needs to think about how this change could affect their international audience
not gonna lie, I enjoyed Movie 43! It's not 1 of my favorite comedies or anything, but I found loads of the shorts funny, my favorite is the Leprechaun one with the Duke of Hazzards Boys & Gerard Butler. also John, James Gunn directed the last Movie 43 short, which was the Cartoon Cat one with Elizabeth Banks & Josh Duhamel! (saying that James Gunn never directed something You dislike, he sort of did, which was a segment in Movie 43)

What the Batman situation worries me is that how official is it that he’s even working on it. If he’s not even sure when they are filming is there even a script?
Heres the thing. Everything you said is irrelevant. Nothing to be worried about. Nothing is filming currently while things are wonky. Nothing to be worried about because this means things are being settled before filming. Which is a positive. Rather now than later into production or so. This is what bothers me about leaks and rumors. This isnt our issue. We shouldn't know about this. None of our business really. We as fans needs to relax on this sorta thing.

After watching the Creature Commandos finale, I dont care what anyone says, that is a flawless seven episode masterpiece that brims with emotional depth of masterful character development that does it under 30 mins which most movies struggle with. Never doubt James Gunn.
If Marvel really wanted to knock people's socks off, they should reveal who will play T'Challa in secret wars during the film, not in an announcement or trailer.

The only other ‘controversial’ one is Last Jedi but I wouldn’t say that a Madam Web/Kraven film. Those two films are such an extremely low bar that the closest I can compare it to for SW is Rise of Skywalker.

It's all confusing because on one side matt reeves didn't say no to Robert joining the dcu he only says if it only makes sense. While Andy says no he will not and than comes out and says he hasn't spoken to gun. So obviously plans are changing, and conversions are being held regarding the batman merging to the dcu. They easily can make the batman a prequel and for people who say he's too grounded. Batman started out grounded fighting gangsters and crime bosses way before the fantastical vilians appeared. Batman the animated series didn't have supernatural vilians until later on in batman's years. So it's obvious andy has no idea what's going on, neither does matt reeves but it is really obviously conversions are being held atm.
I hope Andy doesn't make the Batman movie. I like his work aside from Flash (hate that movie) but I think it's a bad fit hope they fire him from this project
@MrHughMungus i think the story is terrible and poorly told. Found the action boring, climax of the movie is bad and the cgi is awful. The only things I like was the scene were Barry says goodbye to his mother, Keaton Batman and some of the humor I found was good.
The DCU is already a giant mess. I love James Gunn, but I think he really bit off more than he can chew. Clayface as the third movie?? Really?? I don't care how good the script is, it is a terrible idea. Sony tried to make an entire universe on Villian movies without their respective superhero involved, and look how that turned out... Now DC is going to try and do the same exact thing??
If you haven't seen the script or a finished film, you can't say if a Clayface film is a terrible idea. People said a Penguin series was a bad idea and that turned out great. The point is that good ideas can turn out bad and what sounds like a bad idea can end up being great. People are too quick to rage about everything Gunn is doing before we've seen anything.
