@@mappybc6097 well I am playing ff14 now just bought the complete edition I am not this edgy person who love dark stories, dark games doesn't make them better but I love when they are in the game at least I hope ff16 doesn't become too dark

Rob just genuinely has just a warm and welcoming presence. The whole team is so likeable but Rob is special I swear.

Same. Unintentionally said out loud "ooo, Rob'll be delighted" and my fiance was like "who?".
What i noticed is that some of your character's attacks resemble the summons. Like the phoenix wing uppercut and the titan like arms that appear when you punch.... Augmenting your attacks with summons maybe?????

Edit: maybe augmented attacks wasn't the right term. As pointed out in the reply. I'm thinking more the likes of kh3 and its keys that comes with its own moves
Doesnt look like it. It does have the same pattern attack but the animation is different. I see how he uses that phoenix uppercut and ended with crouch looking. While the Titan's arm, he is still standing in it.
@@fraenznoa5508 ok i see that, sorry for my wording, maybe "Augmented attacks" isnt the right term. What i mean is like in kingdom hearts with the different keys and stuff (aquire a key - or in this case a summon, get these movesets) or a variation of that. Maybe. We'll see in the future.
Maby it's a paradigm shift based on summons.
i sort of like the idea of it maybe working a bit like nero's devil bringer attacks in dmc
you had a lot more control over the battlefield with it, being able to pull, push, etc foes around quite a bit more with it.
ohh Rosie, never play Final Fantasy type-0, that game is not Chocobo friendly
Makes me so mad that wasn't made on console with a big budget because it looks really good but it hurts my eyes. I can still play 2D games because many of them stand the test of time, but 3D games not so much with some exceptions here and there.
This is what i was thinking about. If you learned one thing from that games trailer - dead chocobos. Lol. Although you kill a fair amount in ff14 too

Possibly Garuda was also revealed, due to the character using wind Talons at one part of the trailer

About combat, you seem to not have known at the time of the video that the battle director is Ryota Suzuki, veteran designer formerly at Capcom who has worked on Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon's Dogma.
This is pretty exciting, and a good sign for the quality of combats in FF16.
the fact that this is being developed by the team behind 14 is very exciting and we can trust this game will come out in near future
Why does the summons look very similar to FFXV I could swear that was Titan.
Rob is right, it is indeed right that Crystals regain their lost role in the Final Fantasy lore.
The combat system looks fluid, but yea again as Rob said, I'm looking forward to that FFVII-Remake style combat system it's the right balance between action and turn-based rpg.
@ShaneO the crystals are all over the main series ever since the first FF
They weren't given back that same level of importance they had from the old FF.
It looks like they could be place holder character models. Shiva looks very last gen.

@ShaneO It reminds me of another FF game ... 4 in that one the elemental crystals were literally the foundation of magic in the world or something.
I'm as excited as rob and rosie! can't wait for my favorite franchise!
I have to reinstall Final Fantasy XIV again to do something with all of this excitement!

Thoroughly surprised by this announcement, can't wait. I get FF12/14 vibes from it.
Looks great, can't wait to find out more and when it comes out. We've only seen 4 summons so far. Can't wait to see what Bahamut and other regulars like leviathan and Odin look like.
About summons, I liked the ff12 the most, The 13 espers and their farming was so great, it made the game more epic, those summons were the best!
Super excited but can't help but notice Rob barely let Rosie speak 😂 Let her do the next video to make up for it! Maybe discussing how the trailer outfits seem to match historic FF job classes??

From the looks of the trailer certain people are actually the summons and they become them. The boy looks to be Phoenix and whoever the guy that was all fire seems to become Ifrit.
That's kinda what I got from the trailer. It sounds like that the summons are people or bonded to people. So maybe the the attacks are augmented or special attacks are available only for certain summons. Also brings up the question if the main guy will have multiple summons, since it looks like he gets a few different attacks.
It is like in Final Fantasy XIV, some people can became an eikon (a primal).
@@WillSoyk it was said in the trailer that an eikon (didn't know about this, I thought it was just icon) was summoned.
It was so amazing seeing it, right in the beginning "is it? no it couldn't be, but it looks like...omg it iiiiiiiis" 😱

I'm absolutly thrilled by this news (and the trailer!) and can't wait to get my hands on it...
This'll be one to watch for me. I don't know enough about it to get any firm hopes or expectations yet, but it's reassuring to know that Tetsuya Nomura's not involved.
For me the official existence of FFXVI actually overshadowed the release date and prices of the system itself.
When you open a presentation with the NEW Final Fantasy then everything that comes after that for the next few weeks or so is just like "Yeah, ok... But Final Fantasy XVI is coming so sit back down because THAT is the hype."
I didn't have same goosebumps as FFXV and the remake of FFVII. Hoping Square Enix will change my mind.

@playstation access the last few final fantasy have been about crystals, it’s in the name they gave to the series of final fantasy’s: Fabula Nova Crystallis.
I’m extremely happy that FF16 is coming, but I’m even happier seeing how excited Rob and Rosie are. It’s so heartwarming.
Man it was such a surprise to see it i jumped up out of my seat. Of it is ifrit in the trailer he looks so badass.
I waited to buy a PS4 once XV was released, and got the Luna edition. Looks like I will be waiting for XVI to be released, before getting a PS5.

Forgot where I saw it now but read a person who was largely responsible for DMC 5 combat is working on combat for this and you can see some influence.

Yes God forbid anyone employs creativity to come up with a new setting. We definitely need more of the laziest most overdone setting so far.

The beginning of FF Type-0 really did the chocobos dirty. That was some good PTSD.
to me the combat looked a bit like in Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom where you maybe encounter the monster in an overworld but load into an arena to fight it. It might just have been to show off some combat but the fight scenarios felt very arena like

It is absolutely not a launch game. My guess is 2022 or 2023 because they’re still focusing on VIIR.

I have learned so much about Final Fantasy ... i knew tools , accesorries , weapons and items 😍👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻summons 😍👍👍👍Shiva - Ifrit , all summons in FFXV 😍👍👍👍very nice
Not played any of this series since 12 as I only played it once and absolutely loved it. I used to replay each game at least 2 or 3 times up until then so have been holding off progressing beyond it until I play 12 again but life has been getting in the way... I think I need to clear my schedule for a few months!! Bring on 16!!!!
I loved the look of the summons
Hoping I'm not the only one that with the medieval atmosphere, what looks like knights and the mention of "Arthur" to immediately think "knights of the round summon"
I can do you one better with the combat system, they snagged the DMC 5s Battle Director for it so it's going to have similarities to DMC, with obviously more RPG elements to it.
I mean you can already tell it's much more DMC like than any other FF game.
I wouldnt say thats one better..that makes it worst in my opinion anyways
@Frederico Then play or watch Dragon Dogma's combat system. It's incredible, and because this is an RPG I am pretty sure that the combat will be closer to that than DMC(the same guy was the battle director of both)
@Frederico If you think that games like Dragon Dogma and FF7R have less strategy than FF7 or FF8 or FF9, then I don't think you have played all of them because the variety in approaches, strategies, movements and enemies are superior in those "mindless" hack'n'slash. And I love all of these games.
Just say that you prefer turn-based combat, that is valid, but what you just said just proves that you are blind by nostalgia. Just compare scorpion from FF7 OG and Remake, and if you still think that FF7 OG is more strategic...
@Frederico I mentioned Dragon Dogma and FF7R because the battle designer of FF XVI was the battle designer of DD and FF7R is a FF, so they are more relevant examples that ARPG can be strategic and that FFXVI is gonna be strategic for sure

yup eikon, it is the true name of primals in ff14. pretty much kinda feeling like this takes place in the ff14 universe. in ff14 A character summons shiva using herself as a vessal for it. Which seems to be happening here.
Something tells me that you have to destroy the crystals in this game, rather than restore/use/save them.
I'm getting that message too. Sounds as though the people no longer wished to have their lives ruled by summons and crystals no more.

Speaking from experience for PS3 and PS4 console, I highly suggest those of you who buy the PS5 just for this game to just wait 4 years before buying the PS5. By then the console will have a new form factor and FF16 will just have come out.
i may have misinterpreted this but when i watched the trailer it seemed like certain characters were turning into the summons, like the kid (joshua?) turned into the phoenix, and one of those men they showed at the beginning turned into ifrit. i think? so maybe the game shows the origin of the summons?

I hope it’s a massive living open world full of cool stuff and lots of reasons to explore. And I hope there’s lots of summons and cool fighting. And a good story...I’m excited

I saw it and for some reason IT really reminded me of Final Fantasy 4, which makes me super excited!
The second I saw the chocobo I knew Rob would lose it.

Also, you mention them in FFX, but I think more to the intro part of FFXII and Type-O.... The war with the Archadian Empire in XII... and the intro scene for Type-0 ((if i'm remembering right... got a headache and its hard to think.... plus haven't gotten too far in that game yet))

Final fantasy games are slowly turning into tales games...not that I'm complaining.
live action does not equal tales of. ive played every ff and almost every tales of, comparing 15 to any tales of is just plain wrong. if anything they are just becoming more Dark souls/Kingdom hearts

Never played FFXIV but have always been a huge fan of the series, this will be a purchase to be sure.
Missing out man. Not much of an MMO fan prior but FF14 changed that and its very beginner friendly to those entirely new to the genre.
I know this video is just things we know, but im only 50% sold on this. The combat looks fluid, but i still prefer old school turn base combat. Or final fantasy 13 ATB system. While fluid is also good, its my least favorite of the final fantasy combats. Also we havent seen any, but what about party members? Will we have them? Will we control them? Cause 15 really dissapointed me because we only had 3 party members and you couldnt play as them
i was leaning towards getting the ps5, this has made my mind up 100%. A release date would be nice as of now neither console will launch with any game i need to play day 1._.

I feel FF games have leaned too far in to the moody melodrama recently and the plots get a bit too convoluted. And I hope the combat is fun, I wasn’t keen on the combat in 15 there was too much teleporting and spectacle with no substance.
I agree. I hope they do something similar to the FF7RE. I'v had loads and loads of fun with that combat system.

Battle system is by the guy who did dragons dogma before he did dmc.
And FFXIV team has the best storytellers and voice actors. Just watch a few cutscenes from ffxiv.
And they are fast. I won’t be surprise if it release 2021. This is like a vacation for them.
You know I'm a sucker for turn based Final Fantasy but the idea of a single character action rpg like this is really kind of exciting!!! I don't know, just feel like the series is in good hands right now.
