"Smashed Into Pieces" is the most classic Silverstein song in my opinion. The first song I ever heard with screaming in it that got me into this kind of music when I was a kid. Also here for the obligatory recommendation of "Walls" by Emery lol

Silverstein are one of the greatest bands to ever exist imo. When it comes to clean, catchy, heavy, talent and all around skill.... they're unmatched. They get better with age too, it seems. I love their new stuff as much if not more than their older stuff

This song always hits me different, I have been clean from opiates since 05/08/14 and every time I hear this it takes me back to the struggle of getting clean. Love this band and a powerful song to me
Nothing takes me back to pre sober times quicker or more deeply than certain songs like this.
That transition beginning at 2:40 and ending around 3:03 is one of my favorite bits in emo music history. The guitar sounds so smooth.
I'm 47...my oldest daughter who is 28 got me into this band...you can really feel the songs they do...love this band!
Brand New, Thrice & Senses Fail are all a must!!
You must listen to the band Thrice, all their albums are masterpiece and you can see their transition between emo to alternative. You can start with the song Deadbolt following with Image of the Invisible and finishing with Hurricane!!
Silverstien will never get old. You should check out Protest the hero- Blindfolds aside or Thrice - Bloodclots and Black holes

Literally my my favorite band growing up. Saw them live a few times they are amazing.
This one is so awesome live.... They let the crowd sing the last part.

local band, this and Call it Karma plus the acoustic versions are very nostalgic.
This is one of my top faves 🔥 i rock it on every new guitar I get to break it in, acoustic or electric, its a banger 🔥🔥🔥
If I remember correctly most emo bands had a regular singer and another guy doing the screaming but this guy did both. Seamlessly.
I'd recommend "Aquamarine" by Silverstein. It came out more recently, but it still has the same sound and vibe.

I’m only 20 and was never into music like this..but knew Smile in your sleep from NCAA baseball 06 game on the ps2 that I played in elementary school.. always loved that song and all the music on there. Just now trying to get into this kind of music seriously now that I’m getting older, but I loved the reaction and analysis..it’s really a great song.
You should definitely check out more silverstein, they're one of my favorite bands. Unlike many other bands from that era they have only gotten better with time in my opinion. I would recommend Your sword vs my dagger and smashed into pieces for their older stuff, and retrograde and sacrifice for their newer stuff.

I've always believe their song Giving Up from their first record is still the most emo song they've done. My Heroine and the whole Discovering the Waterfront was leaning into post hardcore stuff unlike When Broken Is Easily Fixed, which is def a perfect emo/screamo album of that time.

Emo/screamo was characterized by loud and soft dynamic, often building up to intensely chaotic parts where the singer will scream, cry, and generally involve himself within the song. Real emo or screamo aren't just post-hardcore bands
