Thanks DW for this, this actually made me cry. The odds stacked against talented people in Africa is enormous, making it to an u17 team alone by itself is tough considering that Ilorin although a big city does not have selection advantage as 5 other cities in Nigeria. Thanks to all that believed in him in Liverpool and keep finding opportunity for him to shine. I am really rooting for him to do extremely well in the Premier league. This actually made me cry especially the part where Union Berlin fans were singing his praises.
Taiwo has been invaluable to Forest. The fans and the club love him, he is very much appreciated, and he kept us in the league by scoring 6 goals in four games. Taiwo is a beast!
Nottingham Forest is an incredible club with the most unbelievable atmosphere, Taiwo will take so much energy at this club. Steve Cooper will make him an even greater player!

That was really an insightful piece on Taiwo Awoniyi. I cant wait to see him show what he can do for my club Nottingham Forest, The City Ground is loud and he will Thrive wearing the Garibaldi Red and he is going to be a superstar this season

I'm so encouraged by Taiwo Awoniyi's story. He's such a resilient player who never thought of giving up even when things weren't working out well for him in Europe. He eventually found his breakthrough and I wish him the best of luck in this phase of his career. Good luck to Nottingham Forest as well.

Taiwo Awoniyi's story shows unbroken faith in God and perseverance coupled with a core focus on achieving remarkable success in spite of all odds. Great piece as usual from the proficient stable of DW.

The road to success most time is paved with obstacles and only the strong will survive. Thank you DW for telling the Taiwo Awoniyi football story in this beautiful video. Most Nigerian sports media platforms hardly do this kind of research on our stars playing professional football all over the world. It's sad that he is leaving the German Bundesliga and FC Union Berlin that helped him blossom into the proper number 9 he has been known for since his time at the Golden Eaglets team of 2013 that won the UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup. I wish him a great scoring spell in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest.
