if we do somehow get a remake of this, i wonder if we'll get the real Jennifer Hale and not her incredibly convincing sound-alike. thanks for uploading this btw! sometimes you just wanna relive it, not replay it :p
Hello there! For a year and a half there were no new walkthroughs. This video is going to change that. Here's a walkthrough that I've been working on for 10 days, which includes capturing, editing, rendering, documenting. The scope of this video is: Ending 3 with all Rick choices, highest difficulty, no damage, all area items and plugs, most dinos taken out, all locations shown and files read with all points of interest checked, fast inventory management and all cutting-edge graphical enhancements like PGXP, widescreen and 4K.
One thing that always baffled me.. When comparing the different regional versions of the game, the audio sync is way off for the NTSC version. This can cause audio cue issues, like parts of the next dialogue gets carried over to the end of the current, or the music tracks and sound effects doesn't line up all the time. The PAL version however is spot-on (it is also the version that I know best)
Not as of now. During Choice 1 you go to the underground and end up going to the large lift anyway. During Choice 2 you just escape to the large elevator B1. During Choice 3 you move to 4:10:33 Special Weapons Storage to pick up the Initializer and Stabilzier. And proceed installing them on the generator same way as on Rick's path. During Choice 4 to get the ending 3 you'd have to visit the heliport before regrouping with Gail.
Capcom have published video policy updates which might prevent me from doing that. twitter.com/CapcomUSA_/status/1346729487266885632 As of now waiting for clarification. As of now the wording in the policy seems to say that they don't want no commentary walkthroughs.
"The giant creatures that emerged just after the experiment have given me much inspiration." *cut to a scene of Doctor Kirk in his personal bathtub playing with a pink Pteranodon and purple Triceratops*
hah, at the very end of it all, i noticed that the bomb sound effect at 4:26:16 is the Smash Bros Home Run bat sound. so when it blows up, all i can hear is "GAME!" right after it, in my head.
Right now it would be used copies. In this case it's the PS1 version running via Beetle HW PSX core in RetroArch. Japanese PC version with Classic REbirth patch would have a very similar experience. As of now there aren't any ways of getting brand new copies aside from maybe PSN on ps3.
a) You don't have Key Card L. b) You're standing at the wrong side. c) You're standing at the right side, but are not reaching/facing the slot correctly. d) Gail died and you have no one to ask for help. (joke)
Do you have a playthrough tutorial of the game? I'm thinking of playing it again on my ps1 but really could use a tutorial walkthrough to help me through it possibly with commentary to explain things
No, I don't have a video that covers the basics, but I can answer most questions you'd have about the game, assuming I see a notification for the comment. Best practice is to post a new comment separately. In terms of gun play the game gives you a handgun, but in its initial form it's not advised to use it as is, as it's too weak. The real deal is the shotgun, which you get soon after and is the main offense weapon. Same as in Resident Evil, it's best to clean up rooms through which you'll need to go multiple times and there are a few ways of doing that. Either permanently taking out raptors or putting them to sleep and doing your business. Of course, a newcomer wouldn't be able to possibly know which rooms to clean up, but this video shows it. The mixing in this game is rather straightforward. You can either make darts or healing items. Darts are good for combat, as you can get "free" shots when the raptor is sleeping and is on the ground. Healing items for recovery, but if you play cleanly them you won't need many and you can make something useful out of them. Strongest darts (L++) combined with Res Pack (recovers you if you die) combined creates poison darts, the strongest weapon in the game, best for end-game dinos. One shot and except for bosses, they're dead. That's a few things that immediately come to mind.
@@DfactorLongplays Wow appreciate all the advice and tips dude, most people wouldn't have even replied let alone give me a basic run down of everything. I'm actually looking foreward to running it I got an original LCD PSONE screen last month which connects to my console and its great quality so definitely gonna give it a go since I have Dino Crisis 1 and 2. Oh I also forgot to ask, how do you save the game again? I remember playing it as a kid just like with resident evil it took me so long to figure out how to save the game
@@FreeThinkAlways There are unlimited saves. Same as in Resident Evil there are save rooms, but no typewriters. You simply enter a room and as soon as you try to leave the game will prompt you for a save. The only downside is that SOME dinos respawn once you reload a save, even if you've killed them before. That's why sometimes it's best to leave them alive for as long as possible and use laser fences to your advantage.
You can make in-door environments look decent, as they're mostly composed from square-shaped objects. However, doing a full 3D jungle would look fairly appalling on PS1 and not as photo-realistic. That's my conclusion.
In first fork you'd go underground first, but you'd have to go to the large elevator anyway. In second fork you'd have to run past all the dinos. In third you'd have to go to the storage unit to pick up ready parts. In last fork you get to choose of Gail dying or getting the best ending, depending on if you visit the heliport first.
@@DfactorLongplays oh it means downgrade graphic from DC1, hehehe . . . , from my point of view, in this video, the graphic of DC1 comes with higher "anti aliasing", Regina looks smoother in figure. but the gameplay I think it much more challenging than DC2, so much puzzle to solve and you have limited variant of weapon and ammo plus the weapons is not as powerful as DC to Kill the Dinos, I dont imagine how Regina to kill and survive if she met Blue-White Ultra Raptor, hahaha :D
Only over a thousand videos to complain on, because that's how many have a watermark on them. And around the same amount for aspect ratio, since it's the most common one in the world. Good luck!

I bought this game for $0.89 when GameStop was clearing out their PS1 inventory permanently. I don't think I've encountered a better deal.
The ending cutscenes with the helicopter and T-Rex was beyond epic!

Hi Dfactor. How big is the source file size for this video if you don't mind me asking?

Rick's voice actor is Donkey Kong from the cgi cartoon...

The choices are the same across all platforms. This video is based on PS1 version on PC.

This is exactly how a playthrough should be. Meticulous, detailed, but always perfectly efficient. You're very good at this, mate!

Maybe making another one before April lands.

The first game had fully 3D environments? And second changed to pre-rendered. Why?

Such a sik scene when the trex is chasing Rigina through the flames...
is Dino Crisis 2 able to wide-screen format on PC/Laptop?
No, because DC2 has pre-rendered backgrounds. Pictures, if you will. It means they will simply be stretched.

Beetle PSX HW core.

Blame people that re-upload videos without permission\credits, if they didn't exist there would be no reason to add watermarks.
I love this game, it even scarier than re2
