UCLA College of Letters and Science Commencement 2012

More than 16,000 students, family members and loved ones gathered at Drake Stadium on June 15, 2012, to celebrate the College of Letters and Science Commencement ceremony. The theme of this year's Commencement was "Transformative Leadership." Entrepreneur Jessica Jackley, co-founder of Kiva--an innovative peer-to-peer micro-lending website--served as keynote speaker. Chancellor Gene Block presented The UCLA Medal to Professor Emeritus of Surgery Paul Terasaki, a UCLA alumnus who transformed organ transplant medicine by devising a method for assessing organ donor and recipient compatibility.
