@@JustAGuyProduction you don't know anything about me other than my name, so I'll let it slide you called me a casual gamer. However, I basically only game in my free time and have been deep diving into Star Wars since I was six years old. The lore is there if you care to look for it. Besides, who cares who actually makes it? EA's release on the Star Wars IP means studios big and small can take a run at a lightsaber game, and they can put as much or as little care into it as they like, though skimping on an intrinsic part of the concept of lightsabers just screams "we're just here for the money." This might come as a surprise, but you can work on both the look AND feel of a game before releasing it if it's a project you give a shit about. Finally, who tf shits on cosmetics??? "Yeah I want less personality please" lmao

I'm legit baffled that you keep saying casual gamer like it's a bad thing. Games are supposed to be played for fun, if you have fun being a try hard then good for you but if someone else wants to play differently that's an equally fine way to play. PLAY being the operative word.
I spend most of my free time playing, and I'm an absolute sucker for cosmetics, doesnt make me a worse player.
By that logic if you do anything but wear the most practical clothes you can possibly get in real life you're a casual human? Have you never bought anything you didn't have to just because you like it like *le gasp* a video game?!
OK last thing i swear, the lightsaber customization thing is an absolute must for a good lightsaber game. It's not a just a casual gamer thing but a lore thing. As they said lightsabers are canonically incredibly personalized weapons. If you think that that's something bad then you're a casual star wars fan and should be ashamed, any hard-core fan would be able to tell you the deep personal meaning behind every lightsaber color.
Theres nothing wrong with either of those things. As for that being why indie devs wouldn't go for it, that's retarded, if the game is good people would play with or without lightsaber options and frankly it's not that (relatively speaking, i definitely cant do it) difficult to make a few modular models that someone can swap in game. But again, if the game is good people will play anyway, though casual gamers are what tends to keep games afloat so I hope you dont think just the hard-core players can fund the industry if the hard-core drive them off. Games are made for the masses not the few.

DLCs being little more than cash grabs is a pretty valid argument to be fair but 1 that doenst make me a casual, 2 even if I am...I don't even know how to defend that cause it's not really something that needs to be defended, no I don't take most games all that seriously. I do play obscene amounts everyday so not sure if that makes me a "hardcore" gamer or not and honestly not sure I care either.
My current fav game is elden ring though and it has none of the problems you're stressing over so there's that.
All I can get from your posts is that
1. You think casuals are bad
2. You think focusing on cosmetics is bad because it reduces game quality.
I doubt we'll agree about 1 but as for 2, I'm a sucker for cosmetics but I dont play...many...crappy games just to buy cosmetics in. And I've never bought a loot box in my life.

Videos like this make me wish VR technology was to the point where the NPC's could actually push against you and give meaningful resistance to the player because right now they just get butchered by someone with effectively infinite strength.
Well, blade and sorcery is still in early access, maybe one day that’ll be a thing.
Just a suit that will restrict your limbs movement in precise 3d way according to signals from the game

That, or every suit would need to be tailormade for the individual, which would be expensive.

I didn’t notice this before, but the lightsaber blades don’t cast shadows. Wow. The makers of this mod actually paid attention to detail.
lightsaber blades do cast shadows though. We can see that in the movies and games (like fallen order). So it's canon. Also they're made of plasma which can theoretically cast a shadow.

Plasma doesn't cast a shadow typically, candle flames, lightning, etc.
Plasma is a gas that has had electrons stripped away allowing electric current to flow more easily. Whatever substance became a pasma does not become opaque by becoming a plasma.
@@pressstart2640 seeing as how my field of expertise is literally plasma science I think I know what a plasma is. It *can* cast a shadow under some circumstances. It's not impossible. It's just not common for visible wavelengths.
But in the context of star wars plasma blades in lightsabers absolutely do cast shadows. Whether that's believable or not is up to the viewer. I'm just saying it's not entirely unfounded to believe that they could do so.

i trully envy our grandchildren. if we do not destroy would the games they will be able to play might be better than real life itself. i truly believe that in 50-100 years technology will allow us to create games on level of ready player one imagine lightsaber fight on omnidirectional treadmill in vr world between people. it would be legendary and im so jealous i will be to dead to experience them
Bruh give it like 5-10 years
We already have weak low key versions of pretty much all that Ready Player One tech, so with the acceleration of growth in mind, it's definitely gonna take waay less time than that, probably around 10-20 years if we factor in the fact the tech needs not only perfecting, but it also has to become cheaper and more accessible, and it all won't matter without the right software as well
Always remember: Switching to your lightsaber is 10x more effective than reloading.
It's amazing disney or ea don't have the creative mindset and balls to make a jedi vr game as satisfying as this.

For it to be possible they need to ad mod scripting. They were gonna do that for the U11 update but nope it has not arrived.
