Istanbul is the greatest city in Europe without any doubt.

I expected much more of Topkapi palace when I went there, the palace of one of the greatest empires, the ottomans, and it kind of sucked. The rest, beautiful.
I'd actually say it'd be London, even today. It's a major financial centre, multicultural, prestigious, historically important, and well known worldwide. Not only that, it's fairly centrally located compared to, say, NY or Beijing.
This is my first visiting in Istanbul. Tonight 18:00h I travel with Metro autubus to Istanbul from Ruse, Bulgaria. I hope to have a good time and experience :)

Great city, great country, if you are a tourist there though, do yourself a favor and don't try driving yourself. The way traffic works is so sporadic and just crazy that you'd end up crashing your car the first day
