Forgot to mention the pull-up cues. My personal opinion is to put your flight path marker in between the min and max pull up cue lines (These are the horizontal lines on the ASL{Azimuth Steering Line} The big one is the max. The smaller one is the minimum) before you launch. This will give the HARM its best chances at reaching the target.

Hi! I like it when somebody is able to summarize a complicated topic in a few sentences, step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and make it easy to learn. I am now learning the F-16 in DCS, and I don't have the luxury of unlimited free time, I have 4-5 hours a week to play. I watched all your "less than 60 sec F-16" videos and I find them extremely helpful. Researching and reading hundreds of pages of manuals are boring and time consuming, you saved me a lot of time which I can spend on actually play the game. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Great video - recently subscribed and like the 60 sec series - good visual aids with the red boxes and super helpful. Not sure if you have done one yet but a quick reminder of how to share and accept targets/SPI over datalink in F16 would be handy - I keep having to find that one in a Wags update that is full of other stuff.

If it’s not too big an ask, could you do a tutorial on how to set up your flight on datalink?
I know you can do it in the mission editor so all your wingmen appear as a different colour to the rest of your friendlies, but I’m having a hard time finding out how to set that up in a multiplayer server through the jet itself.
Would love to be able to send wingmen mark points - I know how to do that with whatever random the game decides to set my wingman as, but I need a hand figuring out how to tell the jet who my wingman is.
Absolutely will be doing this! When. . . . ED implements it. Currently, it's there (The settings exist in the DED), but doesn't actually work properly. In fact, even if you set it up correctly, and then send a data packet, it goes to all F-16's in the entire server. Eventually ED will have this built, and when they do, I will be doing a tutorial on it, because I'm anxiously waiting for it as well. I'm waiting for it to work because it is hard to create an instructional video on something and not have an example of it working to show. Hopefully ED will get this done soon!

Excellent Dope will the AGM88 work against S-300? They utilize tricky radar.
Technically as long as the radar signature is present. It will guide to it. However, if it turns off and is mobile and moves to a different location, then the harm will just go to the last known location. So with the grumble, it should.
correct me if im wrong, but if you are flying higher altitudes you get a better HAD track.
Often times I can use the HAD to locate the SAM directly with tpod or very close to the area.
The real challenge here is using HARMs when the opposing force is made aware their emitters are giving away their position to the HARM targeting.
Luring them into firing up their radar is dangerous, but IR and AA also makes Maverick and JDAM visual attacks a risk of their own.

pgm quality from my understanding is the quality of location data the missile has on the radar source for example: pgm 3-4 is it has a general idea of where it is and will probably get somewhere close
pgm 1-2 is its pretty much dead on target and will hit provided other parameters are within spec.
PGM quality basically is how well the emitter has been localised; 5 being the worst, 1 being the best Usually 2-3 is good for firing.

Great video. Do HARMS get shot down often before reaching the target or was I doing something wrong in my brief stint using them a few months ago? I need to get back in the Viper. I'm currently messing around in the Hawg.
Certain sam systems can track and shoot down harms. Yes. The SA19 can. So if you have a SA10 being guarded by an SA19, you'll need to take it out first or it will shoot down every harm you throw at the 10. I believe 11s can shoot down harms as well.

@@redtailpilot If it is a 19, it doesn't have very long range, so you can get close enough to drop a JDAM on it and leave the area before you get to the threat ring. If you have to get within a different threat ring to get to the 19, then you'd have to go in REALLY low and pop up last second. Either way, they can't shoot down bombs. They can't get a lock. They CAN shoot down Mavericks. I've tested this. And 19s will shoot down a MAV. Me personally, if there's a 19, I decide whether or not it is viable to fly in and kill it with a bomb and then get the heck out of there really low and fast, or fire a bunch of HARMS at it from range. (This isn't realistic but its what I have done and see a lot of in DCS).

Absolutely. If you fly around the threat ring far enough (Not pointed directly at the target) it'll get there. Takes a while, but I have gotten PGM1 a few times.

HTS is powers on, Harms powered on, but HAD will not detect anything even when SA3’s are rapid firing on me.

This might be littlebit of offtopic, but what code in HTS/HAD does silkworm batterys radar show on Viper?

This is much more clicks than using the agm-122 for the Harrier where you select maybe 3 things and get close enough to radar and most times it locks on.
Well in the Harrier, you need to have your toes touch the SAM's toes for it to make it to the target, too. Love the Harrier to death but it's not a SEAD platform at all.

I can lock the radar (white) but I am not getting the RED around it. Help.
Make sure your HARMS are powered on.
For the life of me, I cannot get HAD to come on. I have cheek power, Master Arm on. Harm selected. No matter what I try, it still shows HAD as OFF. Any ides? Read somewhere that MSL Override might be on and screwing with things, but I'm not sure where/how you turn that off... or if that's truly even the problem. Any ideas?
If you have the HTS pod loaded on the left cheek station, and Left hardpoint power is turned on, it should turn on. I'm not sure what would cause it to stay offline.
@@BogeyDope maybe it’s a bug then, because it’s occurring in the two HARM tutorials for the Viper, in the Nevada map. So I would think they’d already load you out proper. Visually, I’m definitely carrying HARMS, and can see them in my weapon inv.

@@BogeyDope that was the issue. No, I didn't. That's odd though, as I was playing the HARM tutorial. It's not like they give you the ability to change your loadout in the tutorial missions. Weird. Unless I'm missing something... I am fairly new to this.

Which is better HAS with POS/RUK or HAD??
Others may disagree, but in my opinion. I don't think either is "better" per say. I think it's more of what your use case scenario is. Are you going to a pre-planned way point that has a sam at it? I would use RUK or EOM. Are you just patrolling and looking for SAMs to kill? I would use HAS, or, HAD with EOM. Right now, I use the HAD primarily, when I'm patrolling and looking for SAMs to kill.

Hey. I tried doing this but for some reason my had wond detect any Sam sites. I would get fired on and it still wouldn’t see anything.
Make sure it has power. The left cheek power switch on the right side of your stick. And make sure you have a good INS alignment. If your INS isn't aligned, it won't work either.
