That smiling Jean Grey headsculpt could be passable for a comic Mary Jane honestly. Pyslocke, Black Cat and Elektra need to be done on this body mold as well.
Nice figure. Mine is scheduled for 8/8.
$50 is too much. Should be 34.99-39.99, considering the extra head and flame effect.
Mafex should only be $25.99, it includes lack luster accessories and no phoenix.
What do you mean? I got her for $35 at BBTS.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork they posted the wrong piece and then corrected it
@@a7xtherevrend Eh, she's still $35 on my page.
Hope we get a psylocke in that body mold
They didn't use the same legs because Carol is the girl at the squat rack, and Jean is more of a Pilates girly.
Ok, I thought the same about the firebird. Looks exactly like those weighted bird toys. I’m not really feeling the design of the bird. I felt like they could’ve made it huge like the Diamond Select Phoenix.
I think it's the first time we are going to get a figure cheaper in Spain than in the USA.
Iba a comentar justo esto!!
Absolutely want this
Please explain why you guys need that butterfly joints and ab crunch for female figures?
Ab crunch so female figures can crouch over and get into different poses. The butterfly joint allows the arms to go back which is great for fighting poses.
@@MCUcollector24 can you make a video comparison of a non butterfly jointed figure and non ab crunch figures?
I can understand the need for double jointed elbows but shoulders and ab crunches are too much
@naturalmystic1262 I wouldn’t make a dedicated video just for that. From the articulation segments you can see what more the figure will be able to do
@@MCUcollector24The butterfly joints and ab crunch look ugly. At least Phoenix and Ms. Marvel can hide the ab crunch with their sashes. The butterfly doesn't give enough articulation to compensate for how ugly it looks. They look like marionettes. Ms. Marvel hides the butterfly joints, but they had to cut off Phoenix's design to fit it in. The Dark Phoenix mold is the best.
@@naturalmystic1262I agree. Maybe some characters that need super articulation, but Phoenix is being sold to be on that bird stand with her arms spread out. So all the extra joints aren't going to be used. If it were Elektra or Spider-Girl, I'd understand.
"Exclusive" Warbird has boot sculpt, something they could've done for this phoenix?
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?! - Hasbro
I saw another reviewer saying they had to figure out that the bird actually clips into the flame somewhere
I really like it, though I wish she had the more John Byrne giant curly mop of hair.
The headsculpts, specially the "possessed" one, felt very reminiscent of the movie Jean, from the 00s.
Probably my favourite tbh 😭
Jean doesn’t need legs like Warbird. She’s never been a muscular or voluptuous character.
Jean’s always been thick my guy not sure what comics you were reading lmao
@@Pinksugarcandykinda she’s a lot more skinny compared to other marvel female heroes
@@itzBMG incorrect lmao idk what comics you read but Jean’s always been a thicc character she literally was a swimsuit model in the 60s
Would the Mafex Phoenix fit in the effects stand?
I’ll have that figure in a week or two to check.
@@MCUcollector24 Thanks!
Juggernaut wave was 2016
They should've had warbird on this buck but with the disc hinge neck instead of that ball joint.
Does anyone know how disassble the phonenix after it's been locked with the bottom part?
Phoenix “boots” are part of her body suit… they not actually boots. That probably why they didn’t use Warbird legs
It is boots, but as per action figure production the metallic yellow is the plastic, and the green painted color on top. The Warbird figure has an articulation in a lower place, and black might be easier to paint on top of plastic color without having differences. If they were to do the same with phoenix, the whole upper leg would have been green plastic with painted mettalic color (they don’t do that) or would have all yellow plastic with green painted on top on the whole leg, instead of just a small place, which they always do. It is prob a production thing, still you can see differences between green plastic and painted on the figure
@@rodrigosantoro1037no i have always took it as part of her suit… just like her Jim Lee Yellow suit that have the The feet and suit connected
@@antoniobanks-tazzy yeah, I feel you, but it’s gloves and boots, it’s Dave cockrum description. I wish they used warbird ones 😭😭
They’re boots
Is this like a common misconception? I didn’t think anyone believed this until this figure came out and everyone has been questioning why they didn’t use the Ms. Marvel body 😂
Think I'll get two and use the red suit in one :P A Phoenix stand off hehe.
Bruh imma use that base for my human torch.
Yea still doesn't justify the $50 price point
Remember some people collect MAFEX and pay $100 for a smaller but similar toy with some pair of hands and 2 more heads, I don't get that price justified either, times are crazy now for this hobby...smh.
@@Lycano23 MAFEX has better build quality and often times better sculpts as well as better paint apps along with the inclusion of Soft goods when necessary. That's why Mafex is higher price point. When you buy a Mafex the majority of the time it will be THE definitive version of a character in 6 inch scale. Where as with Hasbro, yeah they are cheaper but build quality, paint, sculpt and articulation aren't on the same level and you'll have to end up buying an updated version of whatever character every few years where as with Mafex you pay once and that's it since it will not get any better than that anytime soon.
@@omegashenron8 I may agree with the soft goods, but Hasbro stepped up their game with quality, sculpt and paint apps big time. To me, Mafex price point can't be justified, it's just an expensive brand for the sake of it, I rather hear someone say "Mafex is to me what Jordan or hell, Louis Vuitton is for people in the toy collecting community, I buy it because it makes me feel of x or y status" more than trying to convince me that the differences are huge when they are not.
Mafex doesn't justify $100, this one much better and half the price.
Mafex can't even bend more than 90 degrees...
40-45 MAX was fine but i did preorder her twice and then cancelled coz i don't collect comic figure and other figures are already locked in and the fire effect is nice but tink hasbro might give them same to her live-action version too to milk it out🤷♂🤷♂
17:40 It's the wrong hair color, but I think the Zombie Scarlet Witch head on one of the Dark Phoenix figures and in front of the Phoenix Force would be a pretty sick pose. If they do another Dark Phoenix, they should include a Zombie Jean head.
16:53 I think they put Jean on the tallest of the super articulated female bodies. She's supposed to be the shortest of the three; four if we're counting Sharon. If Warbird was on Jean's body and Jean on Warbird's, the three would've been correctly scaled according to their listed heights; Warbird (5'11"), Black Widow (5'7"), and Jean (5'6").
Exactly, and she doesn´t need too much articulation, Phoenix is a mind powerhouse, evil Phoenix articulation was already good for her.
I hate to say it, but I do not like those Jean heads. They don't look like Jean as Phoenix to me at all. She has way too much eye shadow on on her regular head too. Not a fan of the gloves and boots not being sculpted at the tips.
I keep going back and forth if I want to get the Mafex version instead. Though, I would probably get this one just for the phoenix fire.
Juggernaut wave was 2016 because that's the year I got back into Marvel comics.
Also, it's overpriced. They're charging us the same amount for Ghost Rider's motorcycle as they are for a chunk of plastic.
Awesome review 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Green is way too dark
I couldn't care less about the figure.
I just want all the flame/Phoenix parts.
I like more her older faces in this case, smile face just didn't work this time. This figure has a higher price just for a extra head, that doesn't work with the character.
The body mold is amazing, the Phoenix accessory too. With a better green, this would be such a perfect release.
Still amazing tho, I just wish the green was more comic/show accurate. But it is still amazing release. A red variant for her Dark Phoenix form would be so cool.
Yeah, $50 is too much but today I found her at target for $35. That was more acceptable to me
Not bad.
I feel like the X-men ‘97 figures are pretty much in line with comic figures, so they’re comparable IMO.
"Wolverine is probably taller than he should be"... see Deadpool & Wolverine "comic accurate" Wolverine scene.
It was such a silly scene. They're acting like comic/show Logan has dwarfism, or would look bad if played by a shorter actor, which is not the case at all.
I got the impression that the implication was "It's either comic inaccurate, or it'll look bad", and I disagree.
I guess the older Marvel Legends Jean Grey heads won't fit onto the neck post of this new Jean? I really hate this excessive eyeliner that they give the unmasked female characters. Makes them look freakish (see GI Joe's Cover Girl figure)
Given now the inflation and pricing for toys, it's acceptable. Having said that, this is a good set for sure.
Damn ty for calling old female legends for what they truly were "Monstrosities" lol. Aside from the Retro Rogue and Ms Marvel I avoided female ml's like the plague up until the shriek body tbh and even then..
Shriek mold was fine for Phoenix, fulll articulated mold like this one, works better for Psylocke, or Elektra.
I want to see all female figures get this upgraded body consistently all my jean Grey's and even the hellfire club females can't stand on there feet
