Icom IC-7300 wide band modification

Pentru modificarea frecventei de emisie la icom-7300 aveti nevoie de urmatoarele scule :
1 statie cu aer cald
2 surubelnita
3 lupa

For modification of the emission frequency at icom-7300 you need the following tools:
1 Hot Air Station
2 screwdrivers
3 Magnifier

Excellent...this video shows by far the best job ive seen done with this modification in respect of clean removal of the diode.
I did not have the confidence or the steady hands, instead i just used a small pair of nail clippers and snipped the ceramic component, then cleaned it out.

Very dangerous way to unsolder those two diodes, it's clear that the solder of all other diodes in that matrix are lose and rolling so for the sake of long term security that hot air blower won't be used unless the hot-air tubing at the end be thin to blow air just to the diode been removed. It's better to use a 20W solder iron.

I'm a novice and know better to use a fine tip soldering iron. It's not even my radio and I was in disbelief in thinking how much solder flowed and made an unintended connection..!!!

C`est juste un micro, on peut certes le brancher sur l'icom 7300, mais il faut adapter les pins.

hello, what is the improvement achieved by removing the second diode? I've seen several tutorials and all just remove the first diode from the left below as you do and nothing else. Thanks a lot.

I bought the IC-7300 radio European version - I come from Poland, the firmware version 1.30 was loaded, and now I updated to version 1.40. how to unblock bands and broadcast on all bands on my radio version? which diodes should be desoldered?

Hi Guys i have done the mod bit of a tale of woe, looking at the line of diodes, i took diodes 1 and 3 out in the line, unfortunately diodes 2 came out as well, maybe i need a smaller soldering iron, the only problem with the second one in the line being removed that i can see is it wont transmit on 4 meters now, everything else seems the same, it wont tx above 30 mhz or much below 1.8mhz, i still have the diode but its just too small for me to get back in without loosing it...it transmits on all the hf bands and CB etc, so it has worked it's just 4mts wont tx any more, 6 meters is still ok...i cant see that the diode does anything other than not letting it tx on 4 meters, still rx on there ok....from Fred g4vvq Uk.

is the band wide from 2.9 khz open to 6 khz?

This change unlocks all bands blocked by the manufacturer, for example CB 27 mhz (citizen band)

I have an Ic-9700 that was made for the Asian market. It won't let me transmit because it's out of the band for the U.S. Does anyone know if I can modify it to use in the u.s.? Regardless if it's all band or not
