  • Hi, it's time to change the Gainmaster 5/8 wave for another vertical ,so I thought I'd try the sigma HF 360 with a 2 radials, one to improve 40 meters and one for 80,but unfortunately I have to wait another week for the radials to arrive, but in the meantime i got the radios antenna tuner modified as you can see it now tunes in from 5 to 1 down instead of 3 to I ,personally find it very useful improvements as he can see on the videos. Thanks for watching. FOR MORE INFORMATION..WWW.VENHORST.NL

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. In regards to what the engineer said about the DX10 being better... The DX certainly has good performance, but the menu system is convoluted and the dial/button design around the VFO is a complete disaster if you have large hands/fingers.
I personally find that the DX10 has a "warmer" audio than my 7300 (and 590SG) that no amount of EQ fiddling can fix. This warmer audio is an inherent sound of the DX10 that either falls within the listener's register or does not. My older and somewhat damaged ears (too many night-clubs in my youth I suspect) prefer the brighter sound of the 7300, although I suspect younger ears might find the 7300 "thin" sounding compared with the DX10.
So I would say it really depends on what is meant by "better". 73

Sigma 360X How did you fix the 1, 35 metre steel whip at the top? How deep inside? There is no mention in the manual of what to do...maybe for SWR adjustment how?

I'm watching your clip and it's really interesting. I have the feeling that the tuner on my 7300 is not functional at all. It grinds, grinds, but it doesn't beat my swr even if it's below 2.5 or less. The station is new and I really don't know what to do. I would appreciate any information. 73 from S50SI

Can you auto-tune the nearest frequency that you WANT to transmit on that has 3:1 SWR and then after tuning go to the frequency you desired and at least have decent SWR? Due to not being able to tune over 3:1 SWR you can at least tune to its limit nearest your desired frequency.
