The battle with the C2 Corvette and Ferrari..wow!!! The Jaguar couldn't keep up on the straights...fantastic.
I never thought I would see an E type running around with Ferrari, Maseratti, Corvette, Cobra, Alpha. What an incredible spectacle, I live in a country where these machines are rarities. This race takes place every year, is one or has several stages. If I had money I would go there to watch it live. I'm from Brazil.
Don't talk about it do it Goodwood car races are in the most beautiful parts of UK. You wont be disappointed. Goodwood has an air of bygone days about it that cant be matched.
The way they slide and move around it's like they're dancing and battling and it's beautiful it's art in motion ladies and gentlemen
Hella awesome channel name!
@@chrishamilton2559 thank you ☺️💙
@@oscargallardo287 Bias ply tires. They are like racing on balloons.
Very few people can do this. Those who can are far and few between and have an edge over everybody. Its natural.
Now THAT is racing!!!
Now this is what I call racing.
Just the driver and the car, no telemetry, advice ir instructions from the "team" back in the pits, no traction control or other nonsense!
More racing action in one race than you will see in a season of F1!
The best battle here actually doesn't involve a Cobra. It's that on-board view of the E-Type chasing the Corvette & Ferrari pair, always losing ground to them in the straights, but then making it all back up with later breaking & superior balance in the corners. And then that heart stopping moment at ~11:40 when he tries to get around the GTO, only to get cut off, spin, and nearly be plowed into by the second E-Type following. It never ceases to amaze me how hard these ancient, beautiful & fantastically valuable machines get driven around Goodwood. What a delight.
Chris Harris is the driver who spins there and that incident is shown at the driver's briefing as a guide to what not to do at that corner :)
Absolute magic! To drive these icons this fast, this hard, knowing what they are worth- just amazing!
This place puts me also in mind of Reims in France. Its still there just waiting for somebody to breathe into it again. Look it up on the Internet.
More, please! These races are the finest in the world, Lord March!
This is racing in its purest form, no diver aids, not traction control, launch control, LSD's etc. just the driver and a machine and what do we get? good old fashioned overtaking.
an E racing in anger is one of the few things I never thought I'd see in colour
You could be fooled into thinking this was from 1965! Look at the first 4 cars and the setting. Wow, this is great!.
I love the fact these beautiful beasts still race and are not locked away in a museum!
Great, great racing. This is what I wish IMSA and WEC GT racing would be like.
What exhaust noise . Takes me back to my youth when I had 4 TVR's in succession in the mid . late 80's
Oh I miss this...how wonderful!..
Look forward to these every year, proper racing and car control
Shame there isn't more of it, in this day and age the cars do most of the driving
Absolutely love the Jags. They're just so cool and fast, not to mention the sound is glorious.
4:14. "Look at that traffic jam!" Yes that is a traffic jam that I would NOT mind being in!
One of the most beautiful things to see in this world
Racing on the edge like it should be Driver skills Dominate!
Time capsule, great to watch
11:40 seeing the spirit all of them put in it, somehow I don't think the driver that span started complaining "the bad guy didn't let me trough!!!! disqualify him!!!"
Great chanel....... many tks, great drivers
Thank you for these wonderful deals do terrific old machines. One thing that always disappoints me about these Goodwood videos is that you never between episodes to tell us how the race ended.! These videos would be so much more enjoyable if we knew the result of these wonderful duels. It would take a little extra effort but the conclusion of each episode , would bring things more to life. Thanks again for these videos. Best wishes.
THAT, WAS AWESOME
proper racing this is!
I saw an e type racing the other day and God damm it sounds good
Real auto racing! Very good!
Great racing O didn't think our cobras and vettes could keep up with a 250 gto
That was A W E S O M E 🙀 🖤🤙
Interesting Sunbeam Tiger, looked like a fastback
Awesomeness
Millions and millions of dollars sliding around,Amazing
Thats what i call sports car racing.
I've never tried shifting left handed, that would take lots of practice.
Gold pure Gold
The on board footage of the 2 DB4 GT and the e type crash a few years ago was far more terrifying than that.
SPOILER ALERT.
all three cars survived unharmed. But it made my stomach clench watching them almost destroyed.
how does one become a driver in racing of any kind of car class? In Nascar it seems to be family/friends/who you know. Then you have stuff like this, GT, F1, etc..
I like the LeMans Tiger.
11:37 does the guy spin because he didn't heel toe downshift?
The Cobra sounds like a 289. Not the 427 big girl. Lol
The Stingray had soooo much racing potential... If Chevy gave it just a bit more support... things would be different.
Wow.
12:06 what a turnip lol
C3 Corvettes are a handful but fast in the right hands.
Well, that's Jochen Mass behind the wheel of one, and we can see how effective it is!
holy crap...are those real GTO's? a real lightweight E type? even if replicas, those guys are not kidding around...in possible million $ cars.
They were all the real deal.
❤
Così si guida!!...💪💪💪💪💪
The driver of the Daytona slid out to avoid contact with the GTO. (2nd clip)
What Daytona?
@@paulcaswell2813 think he's talking about the bit at 4:11, with the Daytona Cobra and Stirling Moss in the GTO at the chicane.
super
And these are all the real deal vintage irreplaceable museum pieces being treated like groupies!
Not entirely sure the drivers have read the latest regulations regarding DRS zones. 😎
Also, they need to stop the throwing of bananas, Mario Kart style.
👍👍👍👍
The sawing of the steering wheel slows down the lap times.
isnt this classic the cobra with superior power and less down force and the jag which has balance
None of the cars have downforce, the only thing they could really rely on is handling and acceleration round the corners, their top speeds down the straights, and their brakes before the next corner. The Cobras had better acceleration and top speed, but inferior handling compared to the E Type Jaguars, and Ferrari GTOs. Handling also plays a part for the braking department, the cars with better handling could brake later and could be more stable under braking, though in the end, everything depends on the man behind the wheel.
@@jcgabriel1569 so youve racer classic triumphs .. Talk bout feel .. They jar ur teeth outta ur head
@@jcgabriel1569 Well said!
If they had known that those Ferrari's in 99 would be fetching north of 60 million they wouldn't be racing them I would think
They do race them still
If they hadn’t raced them they wouldn’t be worth 60 million
👍🏎👍
Never mind predictable and thus boring F1, this is REALLY exciting racing.
I'd agree with the people telling me they could never drive a Tesla because they'd miss the engine sound actually drove one of these babies, but no, they drive minivans with 12 speed automatics and traction control... haha
Bond mobiles 😎🍸
Sorry to say..but there are no 'cobras' in this race.....maybe some ACs but no real cobras raced @ goodwood
Talk about a rich man's game, good grief. I think the last 250 GTO sold for around $70,000,000. Cobras, Daytonas, Jag lightweights and a Grand Sport?!?! Wow!
hilborninjection rich man’s what are you talking about, these cars are reproductions, you don’t have to be a billionaire to afford a reproduction
@@Keo What am I talking about?!? Um, how about the 1964 250 GTO that crashed in 2017. Not every car is a reproduction. Some are original cars, rebodied. Don't be a jerk especially if you have no idea what you're talking about.
The GTO that was nearly touched off by the Lightweight is genuine enough - the car's owner, Anthony Bamford (hence the APB 1 plate), is worth a humble $3.8bn. The GTO's value is 'small change' to him!
No reproductions are permitted at Goodwood. And the entrants are in by invitation only.
Get of the bloody screen
10:41 one of the worst sounding engines ive ever herd, sounds like a clarenet or a chello
