A very special thanks to Jay, who was able to edit this episode especially well while I was sick and barely able to assemble the footage.
Watch me build the NdeM RS1 here: • The Joy of Kitbashing:...

I really enjoy your channel featuring your layout. It's a breath of fresh air to see the type of railroading you enjoy to include all of the scratch built structures. It surely beats the Appalachian coal hauler railroads that dominated the model press for the last 40 years!
I also appreciate your background as an urban designer, which I think is fascinating.
There's one more thing you forgot to add to your town's center, A hobby shop!
Who makes the Ford Falcon station wagon?
It's an Australian 1/87 model by the questionably named "Road Ragers" they make a bunch of excellent Australian domestic market Ford, Holden, and others.
Absolutely astounding. Esquina is really starting to take shape on your layout. Perhaps I should really start to take notes to apply some of those tips to my fictional Southern Pacific branchline that I’m currently working on.
That'd be great fun. I highly recommend digging around some valley town Sanborn Fire Insurance maps to get a feel for what street grids, building and zoning types surrounding the parts of the RR you want to model are like. The Library of Congress has scanned a majority of them here, just plop in the state + county and then search for a town that might fit the bill: www.loc.gov/rr/geogmap/sanborn/
Really wish they did that Scherzer Bridge in N, I need a couple of those.
Two options: I bet emailing them and requesting it may result in them coming out with it. If you need one in a pinch, AHM did produce a cruder one in N a while back, you can find them on eBay
Absolutely incredible work! I love the detail work around the church, and the lettering on the businesses.
What have you used to model stucco on your structures? I’ve got a church (Lamy, NM) that I’d love to build at some point.
Thank you so much, Jeff! I go into detail how I do stucco (I use Mig products concrete paste) and the technique for application is included in this video I did a couple of weeks ago. I hope you enjoy this too: ua-cam.com/video/ry9CGwXrVTk/v-deo.html
@@InterurbanEra Very good. Thanks for the link. I'll be sure to check that out. I've not gotten into Mig's products much yet, but I've been impressed by everything I've seen. I saw that you used them on the road too.
Regarding the roads, you said that you used a black foam board for the base for that? Interesting. It looks like you sliced off the top layer of paper, yes?
@@KSRailfan yeah! I took off the top layer of paper. Worked surprisingly well!
Awesome video and channel just subscribed
Glad to have you aboard!
Amazing as always!
Thank you SO much! I can't wait to share the next episode as well, stay tuned!
