ua-cam.com/play/PLDg94Ykjf-y8EqS-YYC-Lmc48_0wmfqm4.html This is the second "marathon" video I have uploaded, I made a playlist so you can find these easily. Each video will have several videos grouped together from the beginning of my homestead. Several people thought the last marathon video was new, which must be confusing. These are my first videos from over three years ago. lol, enjoy.

I would have some type of mulch, going on. I'm in the high desert, in California; and I have been using some old hale bales, leftover from a backyard weddings. Really cheap, if you had to buy a bale, but covers a lot. Just a suggestion. Love your vids, keep up all the hard work!

Maybe you can disassemble the house and use the wood for compost/firewood/hugoculture bed.

I've already watched most these videos so I just put this on while I clean up and I'm just drawn in... I cannot wait to dig holes in the desert. Your videos are helping me manifesting my desert venture. I'm gonna be so on top of my shit then I'll finally be alone with the desert and the Source

Hi John.. I’ve been away for awhile & doing catch up lol.
I do a lot of canning of anything I can 🤣. I’ve canned a lot of meat in the past when my guys were hunting. With chicken it’s the same. I just put raw pieces in the jar & pressure can… it makes its own juice👍 nice for the pantry also 😉
Things are looking good ! 👵🏻👩‍🌾❣️

You should host a homestead workshop!!! You are so entertaining and knowledgeable! I’m going to order your products so I can get my AZ homestead up and running as soon as I get there.

If you want volume you may decide to plant Roma tomatoes and yellow squash. The squash works best if you make a mound of dirt and plant it in. The plants can get 4 ft wide, and say 2 rows of 4 mounds, youll constantly be harvesting. Just something I did in similar soil. Keep up the great work! I enjoy watching the progression of you greening the desert, well, your land. Its turning out great!

You're correct. If I only ate less food. That's the most difficult part for me. I get a lot of physical activity. I jump rope and hit the heavy bag every day too.

John, think about what you said….. you are a big man. Your bone size looks to be large so you need meat to cover/protect them. You do get a lot of exercise.😳 maybe try just walking from your property to end of road & back each day. Walking works the entire body🚶‍♂️😉. Like I said, you’re a big guy & your body needs that food 🥘 so if you stop eating your body will store up fat to use when it’s not sure when it will get food again.
Everyone’s body is built different & metabolism also. You grow your own & eat healthy. Also STRESS has a lot to do with how our bodies function. We each have our own uniqueness. I’ve always loved the unique aspect of life 😍
Food wise, try several smaller meals during the day.
I hope I’m not offending with my comments 😔. I think you’re doing a magnificent job with your history & current way of living. Sometimes too much time to think 💭 lol.
Sorry about the book 📖 Just know many of us are extremely proud of you for what you have accomplished 🥰. 👵🏻👩‍🌾❣️

I would go as low as you can, 8'. That way, the thermal mass above the pipe, will be massive. But, I'm not digging, you are. Either way, I think your idea about how it works, is on point. From the videos, I've seen. Your concept is correct. Good luck. Love your spirit.

I'm no expert, I've seen people use barrel's of compost in greenhouses to warm the air, distiller's to add moisture, and underground gardens to keep plants cool. Don't know about thermal stuff. I've used old single pane glass windows to heat up greenhouse - (80-120 degrees as long as the sun shines even in winter) ive even used polycarbonate smoke color to give sunlight but to keep it cool also (I like this best just expensive ) and I've used solar heaters & ceramic pots with candles (pain in ass & cost a lot for candles) sorry can't help just wanted to mention things I've done, might help. Good luck

Since you have wind, can you use pvc pipes to get the wind that way no need for fan and you wont need to dig deeper than 1 foot

My husband and I are in gila county. I was curious where you're at roughly? My husband wanted to homestead years ago and bought 40 acres in navajo county, vernon az. the wind was too much and he sold it. We now just garden on a third of an acre in central az. You are an inspiration. Love to see how self sufficient you are. Wow.
