I honestly appreciate you so much for this , i had a hip replacement last year and I'm trying to get myself into golf but have been feeling silly , your videos have helped me calm my mind and feel much more confident , thank you
Hi Shayain: I enjoyed watching all 4 of your GAPS videos. I have been playing golf for 50 years. As I am getting older my fitness level has affected my flexibility and strength and I am falling into bad habits. It is always good to get a refresher My handicap Index has moved up from 3.4 to 13+ Thanks, Zav PS. your dad told me you were a golf coach :)
Wow a 3.4 is pretty impressive!! 13+ is also very good. I’m sure a lot of people wouldn’t mind that :) my dad makes an appearance in the putting video 😉
Went to the driving range this past Sunday. Met a couple young people out for the first time to hit balls. The young lady asked if she was addressing the ball correctly. So, I decided to help her and her male partner. After helping, they wanted another lesson next Sunday. I took their contact info, went home and found your UA-cam Channel. I sent them your info and told them to subscribe. If they pay attention to your instructions, I'll do you a solid and check their progress each week. :)
In Latin American dance class we call that knee bend “soft knees” in other words, they are not locked or bent but softened. Its great to have someone video you to learn this stance correctly. Many thanks again for a very helpful class.
I have found that starting vertical, bending at the waist gives me my proper ball position. With your shoulders, arms and hands tension free it’s where the club head touches the ground. Then relaxing the knee’s slightly and I am good to go. Proper foot knees and shoulders alignment all come to you with practice and thinking about it during a swing confuses the mind. Love your clear and simple breakdown of the basics.
What in particular? Take a look at the videos in the descriptions there should be one on GRIP, Alignment and Aim and Stance. If that doesn´t help let me know.
@@CoachShayain thank you for your reply. Since I'm learning, I'm also trying to buy a golf kit to practice with that where the problem is. What I understand women need golf kits that are lighter and probably shorter shafts if you are of 160cm height? but how does one decide - how to buy your first golf kit and what kind?
I've always wondered how to create the necessary space...some hits seem to be quite a struggle and unnaturally uncomfortable...tilt and push your hips back before bending the knees...check!
Great Video Had Shoulder repair had to learn new swing to play the game again but having trouble with my driver my rhythm and tempo is way off back swing really fast can't figure out thanks
Sorry to hear that about your shoulder. With the new golf swing that you learned was it with a certified golf teacher or have you been trying to figure the new swing out yourself? Also don´t be too hard on yourself, the driver the is the hardest club in the bag to hit.
thanks yea partial rotator cuff repair took a while a certified golf teacher has me using a half swing as we speak had to go from steel shaft to graphite from my 9.5 driver to high lofted driver with more forgiveness with new swing slice was crazy somewhat better now but not where i want to be short game is better longer clubs giving me a fit driver 3 wood had to ditch my longer irons for hybrids thats working out nice overall once i get off the tee box which is a nightmare hhahahahha i do pretty good getting my self out of trouble but i find myself playing clean up most of the round i can believe that about the driver what a pain thanks
The amazing news is that you are back out on the course with a few tweaks. Which is absolutely amazing !!! I wish you a speedy recovery and keep me posted on your progress.
thanks playing my best golf the last few months got fitted for a new iron set hl4 tour edge iron-woods hit them better than taylormade or callaway irons go figure got my driver Callaway Rogue draw driver now set at 10.5 since my swing speed is lower swing tempo under better control was swinging way to fast i think my brain was telling me i got to swing harder since i only half swing (what a struggle) not the case local instructor is working with me seeing great results thanks for the reply and your videos they have helped a bunch
will you help with chipping? i always best hands forward but had recently seen a video about how hands forward eliminates the loft of the club. also shoulder rocking and less hands? help!!
Hey Jessa.... I will be doing a video on Chipping, keep you eye out for that. Yes, if when you push your hands really forward it does change the loft of the club. In my example I am showing you off the tee box with a full swing that at address with your hands forward is what you want to look like at impact with your hands forward as well. Keeping in mind everyones swing looks different. Which is why you will need to go and practice your irons and see if having your hands by your left thigh at address works for you. Keep me posted and let me know if you have any other questions.
Best way to practice your Golf Posture is in front of a mirror at home. Let me know if this video was helpful.

Thank you! I am feeling a lower back strain so I need to work on a comfortable posture.
Proper posture has so many nuances in golf that can make or break the game! Good tips :)
Yes that is correct!!! You can always practice at home in front of a mirror :)
I'm new to golf. Thanks for helping me with your video. Ron Lucas

Hi coach, I’m confused when to use the driver, 5 wood and hybrid! Thank you
Good stuff again! Thanks for the step by step guide, I like the 'push hips back' part, it helped!
Happy that it helped and thanks for watching.
Perfect swing posture is pretty much like a deadlift 😆! Hip hinges, not squats! Very helpful tutorial!
That is a great point :). Thanks for watching.
Just found your page and love it!!!!
YAY Ann! Thanks so much. Let me know if I can help with anything!
Great stuff, will definitely work on it.
Make sure to push you hips BACK!!! Common mistake I see all the time.
@@CoachShayain I've definitely been guilty of the 'squat' 🤣🤦🏻♂️
We all have at some point in our golf journey :)

I think this sport is so difficult! Congrats on practicing it!
Most sports are difficult if you want to get good at them. Practice, practice, practice :)

So so helpful!

can I repair a spike marks before I make my shot?
If you are on the green yes you can. Make sure to mark your ball ahead f time and then you can fix all the spike marks you want :)
Is there a place to send in videos of this so my wife and I can assure we are properly executing the posture technique
You can send them to me on Instagram instagram.com/coachshayain/

I feel like idk what to do with my arms. Like my swing itself. I am brand new to golf.

Just relax and stay with it. Try not lifting up. But the real trick is slow and steady ;)
