If they did they would be making just as much money as the men do. Simply put, the NBA is just a better product to watch. This is the most respectful, logical, and humane comment I've ever seen in regard to this topic. I've been watching NBA since a little girl. I just became interested in WNBA (considering it's still a pretty new league, not even 50 years old I don't think). NBA players are literal freaks of nature with how big they are, all muscles aside (i.e Wemby & Giannis in his rookie season). It all boils down to differences in genetics at the end of the day. However, there's always a way to approach these kinds of topics without being condescending about it, and I wholeheartedly applaud you for yours.
As far as fields where "women dominate over men in men's fields" there really isn't many spaces where a woman can openly dominate over a man, and he doesn't get offended. But that's just how it is I suppose.
