Update for Dr. Diabolical’s Cliffhanger: the queue looks excellent with the animatronics, theme, and pre-show, but I stand by the fact that besides some of the architecture in the building, the ride clashes with Crackaxle Canyon a bit. Be sure to like, comment, and subscribe.
Well, they are slowly transitioning Crackaxle to steampunk, which is why the name changed from CrackaxleCanyonWesternDistrict to CrackaxleCanyonScreampunkDistrict
@@ThemeParkAvenue lol im imaging a snake preshow but i just can’t. I think it’s fine, just add some gears around the queue and say that a inventor wanted a mechanical steel snake lol
I've noticed for a while at fiesta Texas is possibly the only six flags parks that gets the most love from the company. The theming to this place is just excellent. Everything is organized and this is one of the only six flags parks that has rides that fits their theming. And with the recent re-theme of poltergeist and the Dr diabolicals cliffhanger fiesta Texas may possibly be one of the best theme parks out there.
When you know the history of Fiesta Texas, you realize most of what made it great, most of what is mentioned in this video in fact, should be credited to the gaylord entertainment company that first opened Fiesta Texas in 1992. They also did Opryland in Nashville i believe. They saw the old quarry wall as a good base, then Thought of the idea of Texas heritage as the theme for the different areas of the park. A truly brilliant idea, and very well executed. They made all these areas, and made the OG Rattler and such, then six flags came in around 1996. While i have no complaints with Six flags over Fiesta Texas, and they have only improved the park since, the theming that makes it unique from other six flags parks is due to the original owners.
With Fiesta Texas being my home park I can say that there is a lot to love about SFFT when it comes to theming but as you’ve pointed out some rides have zero theming and it’s very noticeable. For me the biggest and best things about the park is the quarry wall, the atmosphere, cleanliness and the wide selection of rides. There are some really ugly spots, it’s not all perfect, take a ride on the railroad and you will see the ugly spots along the bottom of the quarry wall. Stagnant water, rusty, worn down maintenance areas and many rides really could use a refresher coat of paint.
I worked at SFFT when it first opened. The best parts (most theming) came before it was owned by Six Flags. Fiesta Texas was first an Opryland park and the focus was music.
I do agree that SCREAM doesn't quite fit with the theming of Rockville but however, upon the time of opening the ride, it was designed to be an old fashioned 1950s drive in theater. With the dine in restaurant right next to the attraction, it appeared as a snack concessions. Unfortunately, the appearance slowly went away over time.
The pirate ride used to be a black light Scooby-doo themed ride. The retheming was a bit of a bummer imo, mostly because of nostalgia, but I can admit the pirate ride fits the boardwalk theme nicely. It's both nautical and evokes the tiny haunted train rides you see at traveling carnivals, which a lot of the rides in that area match. The Roadrunner Express has lost a lot of theming over the years as well. There used to be more props situated in the queue and around the ride. My favorite was Wile E. Coyote pushing a huge boulder off a cliff that looked like it was about to fall on the riders.
I have been to fiesta texas before and really enjoyed it. I think it is somewhat comparable to disney. Magic mountain is my home park, and i think some of the places there like bugs bunny world are pretty nicely themed. Also, some of the queue of some rides like batman and wonder woman have a really good theming.
As a native Texan, with German relatives, it’s Spa’s-burg ( like a luxury spa). Not Spassburg, like you pass a football. Just for clarification on the correct pronunciation. Awesome video though.
This park is so themed that I think it shouldn’t even have Six Flags in the name. I think it should just be called Fiesta Texas just like Frontier City or Great Escape.
When it was built it was it's own park. It went by Fiesta Texas. 30 years ago. It's fun to go to especially when it isn't so hot out. There's lots of stores and restaurants to go to. There are also theaters and shows. There is also an included water park. You should go if you're around. It's open most of the year.
Someone needs to do a best theming at six flags parks vid. There are some hidden gems out there I mean Great Adventure has a giant fort that's underappreciated
I am so happy Fiesta is finally getting some recognition for it's theming. If the new asshole ceo wants people to pay more for their parks then we deserve more from them. People pay $150 a day for Disney tickets because the care and theming is next to none. Six Flags has amazing rides but crap theming and layouts. Fiesta really does stand out!
I don't see any mention that this park did not start out as a Six Flags park. All of the best theming was constructed when the park was owned and created by Time Warner and USAA. Six Flags has not really added much new theming to the park.
I'm going to assume that the only reason this park still has good theming is because its a recently opwnd park, and Six Flags hasn't had time to strip away all the theming yet
That’s part of it. Since it was not originally owned by Six Flags, much of the best theming is a remnant of the park’s first few years. That’s said, the new queues were developed by Six Flags and deserve serious props.
They have had 4 coasters closed for weeks now due to “power supply issues”. Wonder what’s going on. We wanted to go but not going to waste money when 4 of the best rides are down.

Definitely looks like a top 3 Six Flags park. Still need to get there, hopefully in the next few years.
Batman’s parents died at a theatere so I always get a good chuckle out of it lmao, smart theming
Taking the theme to the next level right there

It’s definitely up there now. I remember going 10ish years ago when I was a kid and wasn’t nearly what it is today. It’s gotten a lot of love

Planning my first trip here next year. I haven't been to a Six Flags in probably 20 years, it seems like it's a good one!
Awesome!
Six Flags did a better job retheming Poltergeist than Disney did with turning Rock n Roller Coaster into Avengers Flight Force in Paris.
Very true
It went from small to none

Your already at 4,000+ subs. I remember when you where at 1k congrats
I'm from europe and this park is still a bucketlist park for me even when i live around 2 hours from phantasialand
