Thank You for the Video. I've been living with the same problem for over a year. I've ordered the "O" rings and will rebuild the control unit. All other vacuum lines look good.
@eemorell It's amazing how it works once you fix it. Makes being in the truck a lot nicer. Still a crappy way to control HVAC, i think it should either be mechanical (cable operated) or electronic (actuator motors). Through vacuum is just... stupid. Lol
Fan only on high is a classic sign of a bad blower motor resistor. If you have this type of HVAC control though, there is no resistor. It's all controlled by that unit. So in that case, the unit is bad.
This is awesome, i didnt realize how easy it was to take these apart
@@thevortec983 yeah definitely worth fixing!
This is helpful. Rather than buying expensive parts, it could just be some crusty old O-rings! Great video
Thanks! And yes it's crazy how expensive these units are as an assembly. Literally could be 100x more than the pack of o-rings haha

The push cupholder in the dash is a pretty easy fix as well, your spring may still be in there to glue or rivet back on.
@thevortec983 not worth trying since the left track is also broken
@AutoFixYT dang
Similar to my 2004 Grand Marquis. Thanks. Great video ! Hope it works for me this weekend !
Yeah all Fords with this style climate control are gonna operate the same way.
it did work ! Now I have to figure out why my fan only runs on high ! O rings in the controller were the issue for my 04 Mercury Grand Marquis

Will this work on 2018 Camry
😄
Yeah, if you succeed please make a video to prove it
@@AutoFixYT thank.
@@NotSoHandyCarGuy lol
So what is the brown crumbly stuff on the ends?
@@clyderobertson8099 no idea honestly haha
@AutoFixYT do you think it seal up anything? My situation is my vents are weak!
It would have been nice to know the vent deal before I took mine out.
So I just did mine and everything works except for the defrost. WTF?
That's kinda weird considering defrost is default, meaning if there's no input or vacuum at all, it goes to defrost.
@ Clearly I have vacuum as everything BUT defrost works. Actuator / Blend door? Would you venture a guess?
You didn’t think about the check valve.
Vacume broke at fire wall
