I've been vegan athlete for four years now. My only regret is not doing it sooner. Meat protein is not only dangerous for the environment and human health but unnecessary and barbaric. @@GodLOVES_you1437 my body went into "adaptive glucose sparing". Look it up on Google. It's when your blood sugar has an abnormally high reading in the morning. But then drops by the middle of the day. So on my HBA1C reading, it looks like I have diabetes. I also think my body was in ketosis for too long and it literally shocked my body. I wasn't eating enough carbs. I don't recommend keto for anybody. Yes, you may lose weight but it's not worth it if it causes other internal medical issues.

Toni, thank you for your inspirational vegan diet tips. I workout but i was lacking in my diet so i started eating a lot greens since the year started especially spring mix. I'm Jamaican so i had to cut back on the rice and peas, curry goat and curry chicken. I love salmon and shrimp so for my protein intake, I drink a 24g of protein powder. So lets see where this go. Im in school for Anesthesia Technology so i want to shape by the time i graduate. Keep it going.

Omg thank you for telling us about dairy free yogurt. I hadn’t heard about before so when I went to the grocery store yesterday I found some. The silk almond milk is soooooo goood. I love yogurt but I have an issue with dairy so this was right up my alley 👍🏾.

I get headaches if I don’t drink enough water too. And do you know what else? If I don’t get enough water into me, because I am older, the lines and wrinkles are more obvious due to dehydration. I’m 62, so it really makes a difference. ☮️💕

Good to know it’s possible to get the protein you need to fuel your body for weightlifting and building muscle. It’s important to not become a “junk food vegan” and to optimize carbohydrates. There are lots of variety and options with vegan. I’m thinking of doing a vegan challenge soon!
