For me, there are two major issues with our products. They have fragrance/perfumes and/or the products are stored in plastics. I love this video. I don't see enough people calling out these issues.

A girl after my own heart! 🥰 I’ve been incorporating DIYs the last 2 years, and the process to go completely natural regarding products has been very gradual. And now I literally use 6 to 7 ingredients. I agree with you! I hope more ladies come to this conclusion as well, especially if they suffer from scalp issues. 💕💖

We sound so similar lol, I love that. Wow, 2 years is a long time, I commend you for that. I'll definitely be doing DIY's for good, especially because I'm seeing the benefits - it's also peace of mind. It's inspired me to look into other products that I can replace. I have a DIY face wash and now I'm going to try a DIY shower gel using African black soap.
It's so true that keeping the ingredients simple is so much more beneficial. Oh, and the health of my scalp has improved immensely from removing toxic ingredients from out of my hair care routine.
The more I learn, the more I shall document and create videos on topics like this with the hopes of showing others that this is possible.

I started the natural journey 13 years ago. And of course starting buying into all the black owned products. I started having brittle dry and severe dandruff. I couldn't even touch my hair in public because I would spray dandruff everywhere. It also stopped growing past my shoulders. Then I stopped all the avocado, rosemary and coconut oil infused products. Most of these oil are mixed with soybean oil. We have natural oils on our scalp! I threw out all the oil infused stuff and bought some simple Dove shampoo/conditioner. Dandruff stopped, itching stopped. I dont use leave-in either. Too much oil and weight on the hair and scalp. My hair is growing now. I chopped it to start over, but I can see the difference. Yes, too many ingredients.

@@TheAymoneShow For me personally I no longer use clarifying shampoos. This is because all of the products/ingredients I use on my hair are all 100% natural and organic so the use of clay and herbs works very effectively at removing any product build up. I found however, when I was using synthetic ingredients/products on my hair, I needed to clarify with a clarifying shampoo which stripped my hair and would increase the need for regular trims.

Just be mineful organic, homemade, or diy products also create carcinogens and toxic by products depending on what you mix and the pricess you mix it. Like one example is burning almonds for eyeliner creates coal. But also carcinogens and even lead. So by mineful of how you produce your products. Also keeping homemade producs to long can produce un wanted bacteria, mold and even formaldehyde.

From personal experience, noticed how the product is gooey covered with smells that are of unknown origin. In addition to this, the added 'natural ' chemicals cause so many problems that its not even funny. To me, it's a no brainer any product that has water first followed with butter is a non-negotiable. I’m definitely a firm believer in do what works best for you hun. All the ones I tried have synthetic fragrances in them and those contain other chemicals within them that aren’t listed so I don’t personally trust that - especially because I noticed when I use products that contain fragrance they dry out my hair and leave it feeling brittle after a couple of days which lead me to having to trim more regularly, but again that’s just me so please do listen to your hair and continue to do what your hair likes and loves😘

HEALTHY EATING HABITS EFFECT HAIR "GROWTH"!
SIMPLE MASSAGES INCREASE BLOOD FLOW AND STIMULATE "GROWTH"!
PRODUCTS CAN DO SOME GOOD FOR HAIR AND SCALP AS WELL TO KEEP THE SURFACE OF THE SCALP CLEAN AND CLEAR SO GROWTH CAN OCCUR THO.
REGULAR HAIR TRIMS ... "PREVENT" SPLIT ENDS .
SPLIT (ENDS) CAUSE THE UNRAVELING OF THE (WHOLE HAIR STRAND) DOWN TO THE ROOTS ,
THINNING THE HAIR AND DECREASES YOUR ABILITY TO .....RETAIN LENTH.
IF YOU DIDN'T USE SHEA MOISTURE, BUT YOU DID (TRIM) YOUR ENDS EVERY 2 MONTHS ( JUST A LITTLE)...
...YOU WOULD (STILL) SEE HAIR "GROWTH" ANNNND WONDERFUL LENTH RETENTION. YUP!
SPLIT ENDS......IF NOT CLIPPED WILL CONTINUE TO SPLIT ALL THE WAY DOWN CAUSING WHAT PEOPLE REFER TO INCORRECTLY AS ..."STUNTED" GROWTH.
IF ANYTHING ITS STUNTED .."LENTH RETENTION" ........NOT STUNTED "GROWTH".......LOL

Hiya, I actually have a video going live today at 7:30pm BST showing a detailed video of one of the ways in which I deep condition my hair, I also explain the benefits of each of the ingredients I'm using. They'll be more videos in the future relating to other ways in which I condition. Hopefully you will find them all helpful.
With regards to moisturising, I'm very old school lol. I use my glycerin spray for hydration, then I seal that in with an oil (usually Jamaican black castor oil) and my whipped shea butter. That's literally it. Sometimes I'll also seal using flaxseed gel as well. I keep everything DIY and it's working out really well. More videos on this coming soon.
Thanx again for watching and commenting and if you have any other questions please do feel free to let me know. Have a blessed Sunday💕

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear this. I totally understand as there was a time when my hair was coming out in clumps. It got to the point where I thought it was normal. Please look into perhaps using more natural ingredients on your son's hair, the amount of toxins in natural hair products is honestly ridiculous and the unhealthy ingredients are not needed within the products. Breaks my hear to hear of things like this happening to people which is why I'm going to continue to do my best to raise awareness.
I'll also be uploading lots of content in the upcoming weeks about holistic hair care so hopefully this will help.

Most of the “black owned” hair products are no longer owned by the person who started the company. If you look it up a lot have been sold to large non black companies. 😬

    • @MindfullyRooted
      @MindfullyRooted  Місяць тому +1

Yes, I have seen this. I've also noticed the ones that used to be black owned and are no longer do their best to keep the public believing that they are still black owned. Of course with a bit of research it's easy for us to find out but they definitely don't make it clear that the products are not black owned anymore for obvious reasons.
Thank you for pointing this out. I appreciate your comment😊

@@ahkeeantahkeeant8096 she’s speaking on formulated hair products and the chemicals in them. In particular those marketed as “natural” hair products . A lot of the companies that were black owned but were sold to large corporations and they are pretty quiet about their companies changing hands. They are usually kept on with a title. However the company is still being touted as black owned but they are changing ingredients and the sourcing of the ingredients. So everyone who uses “ natural” hair products should do the research on the “chemicals” in store bought products whether the company is indeed a black owned company or a formerly black owned company. Her topic is about doing Your research on ingredients. Which is smart especially if you are having issues with your hair or want to avoid them. Synthetic ingredients can be a problem with hair and health. I thought it was a good conversation.
