    Don't forget the front license plate bracket before shipping out. California is a front plate state.

    Very nice package, and i like the setup
    In the future would you be able to show the flash pattern for all light stages?

    Obviously I was wrong but in addition to the front red steady burning light, I thought all CA emergency vehicles had to have an amber flashing light in the rear as well.

      No, just 1 forward facing red light steady burning

      @CJM What CVC requires that? Im only aware of a CVC that "allows" flashing amber, but none that "require" flashing amber on a peace officer's vehicle. The solid red is the cvc required warning light.

    • @rhermes7399
      @rhermes7399 4 роки тому

      @CJM Agreed... for Red. No such requirement for Amber, except for officers of the court who are not peace officers. I don't see too many meeting that definition in my part of Cali.

      A flashing amber would be nice, as studies conducted show that traffic is more likely to move over.

      I didn't know this either, but apparently all lights do - their reflector is set up to spread the beam out left/right so if you tilt it sideways, it throws it up/down instead. StrobesNMore did a great video explaining it - ua-cam.com/video/c_nYLqD6jsQ/v-deo.html&feature=emb_title

    Front facing stead burn does not need to be on when front emergency lighting is not active. I.e pulled over on the side of the road and rear warning active. Secondary units at traffic stops. Etc.

      They've obviously had some bad experiences in the past with their previous installers from what Mark said towards the end of the video. Probably wanted to try someone new, and since 911 Rapid Response publicizes a lot of their work, they probably felt like they were the right fit.

    What is the CA requirement, again?

  • @jer789610

    Is there any reason that they didn't want steady burn blue with the red to the front? Just looks a little odd with the lack of symmetry.

    • @mitch1348
      @mitch1348 3 роки тому

      CA only needs steady red. IIRC - it stems form a CA court case from year and years ago, where the defendant was able to argue that he did not see the red flashing light (likely an old rotating beacon) on the pursuing vehicle, because each time he looked back, it was in-between flashes (or so he claimed). As a result, CA agencies adopted the steady red burning light.

    • @jer789610
      @jer789610 3 роки тому

      It's a requirement in the California Vehicle Code to have a steady burn red visible at 500 (iirc) feet. I know it's not required, but some California agencies (like LAPD and LASD for example) have a blue steady burn on the opposite side for symmetry, while other agencies (CHP and evidentially Modoc SD) have only the red steady burn. I was just curious if there was a benefit behind having only the red vs having a more symmetrical red/blue steady burn.
