So which phrasing of the first 4notes would you choose - and why? 😁 tell me in the comments!😜 what has more power? The rest or the fermata in your opinion? ❤
In my opinion, the sequence of the 4 notes intensity is: 6 - 5 - 5 - 8 (the stronger is clearly the 4th note, but even the first one have a little accent) [modificato dopo una notte di ripensamenti...]
When I learned it on piano too, I couldn't decide so I did both : treble doing first note stronger, bass doing 4th stronger, I never played it in front of people so I don't know it that sounds good ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯
I'd be the odd one here and make the 2nd note slightly more accented, barely audible difference but still a difference. Just enough to mark the beat. Like the way you pronounce "a little more". Possibly slight accent on the last note. Second time a tad slower. If I conducted an orchestra I would like to have a diminuendo on the half notes. You get that whether you like it or not on the piano...
I grew up in a town where a guy named Slava was the music director of our local orchestra. His full name was Mstislav Rostropovich, and he was also pretty well known as a cellist. I got to see him conduct live once in a romantic outdoor setting when I was in HS. I invited a girl I had a crush on to see the concert with me, but she had just had her wisdom teeth out so she couldn't make it. I had an extra seat for my coat to watch him conduct the 1812 Overture. True story. When you and this NEW Slava were performing, I was listening for your synchronized sniffs, but then I realized the piano was studio mic'd, so there wasn't a way to hear the sniffs. Anyway, you guys were fun to watch, and you did a great job working as a four hands duo.
Always sniff loudly, got it! Thanks for the humor and sharing another challenge. My conducting teachers used this concept to help us understand how to lead musical groups with entrances after a rest, of course we were not allowed to make sounds.
It must have been an amazing experience… a 4 hands challenge!! My grandma would be delighted if she could do it with me! Congrats… the performance was awesome!
The music sounded great and you guys definitely had fun learning this! Would love to see another rendition of four handed/orchestral music in a 1min/10min/1hour challenge!
Great job! It must be hard enough playing 4 hands with someone you know well, but when you don't know each other that well you have to learn each other's communication style while you're also learning the piece. It seems like you overcame the challenge though 😁 Also, lots of respect for taking the time to take care of your body; I'm learning classical guitar and my teacher is super insistent about stretching and making sure you're comfortable, because when she was in uni she used to play for hours even when she was in pain and now she has lots of neck and back problems.
Tolle Videoidee! Großartig (und aufwendig) geschnitten! 👍 Mir gefällt Deine Energie! Hoffentlich dauert es nicht allzu lange bis zu Deinen nächsten Konzerten! 🎹
Before watching this video I would've said the power lays in the fermata, but now I'd say it's in the rest . . . no, wait the fermata . . . the rest . . . no, definitely the fermata . . . no, it's the rest . . . guess I'm not really sure right now; ask me again tomorrow . . . always such a pleasure to see Annique where she has so such *_fun_* at the piano and how great her sense of humor is . . . hearing her laugh when they were talking about the double-sniff, I can't help but laugh too 😄 . . . thanks so much for that
Regarding the sniffs, you're supposed to play the lines, not snort them. It really came together by the final performance, but I'm sure if felt wonderful for it to Beeth-over. Remember, there are no tempo and note mistakes, only rubato and spontaneous jazz cadenzas.
I think that Annique could share much more about advanced technique as she used to do with the Etudes. That's what made me interested in her channel in the first place.
Hey, you're an amazing pianist. i love your videos, and as a grade 5 pianist, i watch your videos for tips and just for fun mostly. the way you sightread so quickly is so cool. could you do a challenge on fur elise reimagined by alexander joseph?
I believe you are correct that it is the rest, rather than the fermata. Your demonstration of how you thought it should sound reminded me so much of Barenboim in a masterclass describing a very similar phrase in the 1st movement of Appasionata.
BAM bam bam ba loved this video so much you continue to impress me with tour adaptation skills, always able to make something work even if it’s two people doing the piece for the first time!! 😍
"hope you enjoyed it" - Yes, I enjoyed it. I was just "conducting" that alongside (well, I was a conduit for the music, I guess). Not knowing what I'm doing, but it felt great anyway!
Richtig schön gespielt❤nur eine Frage zu Chopins Etuden.Würdest du lieber beim Prozess dabei gewesen sein oder jede Etude von Chopin so verstehen wie er
Hallo Anique!
I'm pretty sure they do ship to the US, not sure yet how to switch to English, but it's pretty self explanatory, you pick the size and color and enter your address :) thanks for your support!
That is a really complicated transcription. It is 37 minutes of hard piano with many difficult technical pieces in the 4th movement and even the 2nd and 3rd movements. These movement are way better than the first movement and the 1st movement is way overrated. And it is not all in c minor. Some movements are in a flat major and c major. (Edit the piece is played solo by professional pianists and they are playing duo to make it easier)
I'm quite sure she wouldn't know the existence of different transcriptions for this piece and simply was happy to play it from any official publisher score. No need to that judgmental, this is a fun exercise.

Or we together 😅

Hi, next time can you try Liszt - Libestraum n 3 ?
that's entirely fun to realize hearing you singing a melody from beethoven symphony
Glen Gould has recorded. a very nice interpretation.
Thank you guys. I really enjoyed your performance.
The emphasis is definitely on the half note, but subtle. the leading eights should be though of as pickup notes.
“The pause is the loudest”
You clearly understand this piece better 😅
You have to try ballade no. 1. I struggled quite a bit with the coda.
What is your camera/audio setup? Do you use an iPhone, or Canon? And what type of mic (shotgun?)? Thank you!
Hey, should u try 1 min, 10 min... Rhapsody n 15 by Franz Liszt.

Can you please do a 1Min, 10Min, and 1Hour challenge on In Dahomey by Percy Grainger! I would really appreciate it!
Could you do the next 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour challenge with the "Wrong note" étude by Chopin ?
Could you playa liebestraum no 3? Please❤❤❤❤❤

Ooh could you do Mendelssohn piano concerto No 1 3rd movement?

No, that's another Sonata.
symphony 7 movement 2 next please :)

Wow, I’m learning this! Crazy to see you doing it as it’s a random arrangement
nice hello C:
I don't like Beethoven but i like very much his chamber music, nothing else, nothing on piano, nothing with orchestra.
Can you play (animenz) vogel im kafig
There were so many pianos there. Why not each of you grabbed a different piano so you didn't bump into each other? Was it on proposem :p
Can you play the entertainer in next video
Hii😊
I'm surprised to see you ask "really?" when he stated that the bass usually takes the pedal. isn't that the standard way for pieces for four hands?
Not necessarily 😊 it always depends on the piece - and you can also switch the pedal while you play:)
Kannst du bitte auf Deutsch Hallo antworten❤(ich liebe deine videos😊
Well dun.
Is this the Liszt transcription?
Good question! We are still inquiring about the transcriber...
Hy
Doing this with 4-hands 😬
People in your community are way too PC to miss that "heads" correction. I'm going to be that guy to draw attention to the low brow.
There were enough pianos in the room - why don´t you take one piano each ?
would give more physical room for each.
Because pieces for 4 hands are specifically written to be played on one piano…
This is a piano duet transcription not a piano duo transcription. Clearly, you know nothing about piano playing.
I wonder if your practice would have been more effective if you had used two pianos.
the first comment 🎉🎉❤😂
Hell nah
Imagine practicing and playing piano for years, and then not knowing how to play symphony no.5. That is insane.

It's not a piano piece in the standard repertoire, why should she know it?
