    So which phrasing of the first 4notes would you choose - and why? 😁 tell me in the comments!😜 what has more power? The rest or the fermata in your opinion? ❤

    • @frankorusso
      @frankorusso Рік тому +2

      In my opinion, the sequence of the 4 notes intensity is: 6 - 5 - 5 - 8 (the stronger is clearly the 4th note, but even the first one have a little accent)
      [modificato dopo una notte di ripensamenti...]

    • @zurdium
      @zurdium Рік тому +1

      The fourth note needs to have more power for sure

    • @superkiment9531
      @superkiment9531 Рік тому

      When I learned it on piano too, I couldn't decide so I did both : treble doing first note stronger, bass doing 4th stronger, I never played it in front of people so I don't know it that sounds good ¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯

    • @marramtes
      @marramtes Рік тому +2

      The 4th note is the strongest for me: Pa Pa Pa PAAAAA 🎶

    • @altoclef6688
      @altoclef6688 Рік тому

      I'd be the odd one here and make the 2nd note slightly more accented, barely audible difference but still a difference. Just enough to mark the beat. Like the way you pronounce "a little more". Possibly slight accent on the last note.
      Second time a tad slower.
      If I conducted an orchestra I would like to have a diminuendo on the half notes. You get that whether you like it or not on the piano...

    I grew up in a town where a guy named Slava was the music director of our local orchestra. His full name was Mstislav Rostropovich, and he was also pretty well known as a cellist. I got to see him conduct live once in a romantic outdoor setting when I was in HS. I invited a girl I had a crush on to see the concert with me, but she had just had her wisdom teeth out so she couldn't make it. I had an extra seat for my coat to watch him conduct the 1812 Overture. True story. When you and this NEW Slava were performing, I was listening for your synchronized sniffs, but then I realized the piano was studio mic'd, so there wasn't a way to hear the sniffs. Anyway, you guys were fun to watch, and you did a great job working as a four hands duo.

    Always sniff loudly, got it! Thanks for the humor and sharing another challenge. My conducting teachers used this concept to help us understand how to lead musical groups with entrances after a rest, of course we were not allowed to make sounds.

    Great job! It must be hard enough playing 4 hands with someone you know well, but when you don't know each other that well you have to learn each other's communication style while you're also learning the piece. It seems like you overcame the challenge though 😁
    Also, lots of respect for taking the time to take care of your body; I'm learning classical guitar and my teacher is super insistent about stretching and making sure you're comfortable, because when she was in uni she used to play for hours even when she was in pain and now she has lots of neck and back problems.

    Before watching this video I would've said the power lays in the fermata, but now I'd say it's in the rest . . . no, wait the fermata . . . the rest . . . no, definitely the fermata . . . no, it's the rest . . . guess I'm not really sure right now; ask me again tomorrow . . . always such a pleasure to see Annique where she has so such *_fun_* at the piano and how great her sense of humor is . . . hearing her laugh when they were talking about the double-sniff, I can't help but laugh too 😄 . . . thanks so much for that

    Regarding the sniffs, you're supposed to play the lines, not snort them. It really came together by the final performance, but I'm sure if felt wonderful for it to Beeth-over. Remember, there are no tempo and note mistakes, only rubato and spontaneous jazz cadenzas.

      That is a really complicated transcription. It is 37 minutes of hard piano with many difficult technical pieces in the 4th movement and even the 2nd and 3rd movements. These movement are way better than the first movement and the 1st movement is way overrated. And it is not all in c minor. Some movements are in a flat major and c major.
