    we actually own a pockit plus, opening/closing it really is hard during the first few weeks, but eventually became smoother after a number of usage

      That's good to know! It was so hard to work with, but I'm glad it gets smoother. It was a serious work out getting through the video. Lol.

    I purchased the original. If it comes to carry EVERYTHING up on a plane, through airports, that weight has to be the lowest possible. Btw. I discovered an even smaller compact stroller for less, (BabyJoy), but it was heavier. So, with your kid in your arms, stroller on your shoulder, lightweight wins. Being a mainly indoor stroller the shades just don't matter. Paying 30-50% more for recline....no.

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  5 років тому

      Hi Eszter, thank you for your comment. I agree. It's not even a fully flat recline and the recline is a bit fiddly anyway. Neither of them are particularly robust strollers, so I'd go for the Pockit, because it's better value.

    I have the original...I LOVE it! So compact!
    When you open them, it's like shaking the wrinkles out of a towel or blanket!
    I paid nearly $200 American dollars for mine...under $200. I am from NYC...I bought mine for a doll hobby, but for a real toddler, I'd go with the plus because of the recline. There have been instances where children have suffocated because their wind pipe was cut off from not reclining...but not in this carriage...it happened in car seats. I am in no way condeming these older models. I just thought the recline would be safer. Unless the child is a bit bigger in height.
    Great review though.

      @ParentingCentral  5 років тому

      With the recline and risk of suffocation, this is why there's seats that are recommended for babies over 6 months and some prams that are suitable for newborn, because they don't have the strength and head control to be sitting upright. For what it's worth the semi-recline on the GB Pockit+ is still unsafe for newborns and babies younger than approximately 6 months - unless using a capsule, in which case you still need to be mindful of that risk if baby is in car seat for more than a couple of hours at a time.
      Both prams really are more suitable for older babies and toddlers.

    Hey everyone! Just an FYI that the GB Pockit is back in stock. I'm not sure if or when the GB Pockit+ will be available, but the GB Pockit is available either in black www.babytrain.com.au/p/gbpockitairallterrain2019stroller-138163 or blue - www.babytrain.com.au/p/gbpockitairallterrain2019stroller-138162 at Baby Train.

    Hi, great review, thanks a lot! We own the pockit, and I must say, I´m absolutely happy with it! We purchased it some months before the pockit+ went on the market, and I was already thinking whether getting the pockit might have been a mistake (reclining option). But now I´m convinced. After a year of travelling usage, even our second son (5) still likes a rest when our toddler (2) decides to walk. No problem at all - sizewise. You also get a lot of practise folding it. Do I understand correctly that the pockit + seems to have a less upright seating position when not reclined? That would also be a reason for me to go for the original. -- With a newborn though, you have only one option. There is also a compact fold baby cot available now. So it needn´t be a car seat for a newborn (but only for pockit +).

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  6 років тому +2

      I'd say the upright position is the same on both versions of the GB Pockit/+. But good to know there's a newborn cot for the Pockit+, that's really cool.

    End of video answered my question. I like the idea of folding stroller that also holds a car seat, but if it isn't that sturdy to use everyday ( we do go out alot on the bus, so stroller is needed, but don't travel a lot ) then this isn't for us.

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  5 років тому +1

      Oh awesome! I'm glad to help. If you're wanting a really compact pram that takes a car seat have you looked at the Baby Jogger City Tour Lux or Joolz Hub? They fold up neatly, but are still nice enough "city" prams. Still not all terrain, but compact enough to throw in the boot for shopping trips or footpaths.

      Cut to 7:46 in this video you'll see how I went with unfolding it too. I've heard it does get smoother to open with use - apparently it's stiffer when they're new. So hopefully yours gets a bit easier too!

      Unfortunately not the Original Pockit. Just the Pockit Plus - it's compatible with the Maxi Cosi Capsules. I'm not sure if/when the Pockit Plus will be available in Australia again though.

    I found the plus on amazon for the same price as the original. Would you still recommend the original over the plus?

    • @ParentingCentral
      @ParentingCentral  6 років тому +7

      For the same price I'd go for the Plus. Because it has the semi recline so it's suitable for naps, and a little bit wider seat and basket are good. It's still super light and compact, even if it's not *quite* as small as the original. I would personally get the Plus.

      I had a go with this style of hood extension www.babytrain.com.au/p/protect-a-bubsingledeluxe3-1sunshade-137385 and it didn't really work because the overall pram is too small, it went on, but covered the handlebars as well, which made it awkward. It seems like more www.babytrain.com.au/p/outlooksleeppodsteel-128828 might work. Though my concern is that the existing hood doesn't seem substantial enough to actually hold up the shade.
