@@thekingofdiy not sure how far along you are on building the 21ft tank, but revealing it to us, and at the same time having both your kids react to it, would be a pretty special video!
Yeah for real. I had to go to college I got out of the aquarium hobby for 3 years and I just got back in a couple weeks ago thought I check back up with the fish UA-camrs I used to watch and wow Joey is doing awesome. Happy for you bro! And yeah I can’t believe how much Darius has grown he was like 12 inches shorter last time lol. I think that was when he got a flower horn or something like that.
I absolutely love, that you've taken into consideration, using sand for bottom feeding fish. It's softer on their bellies and easier to sift through. My bottom feeders love living in sand.
Dudes a beast now! Comes to the gym with me, trains boxing with me...... thinks he can beat me up..... In the next video, i show him he never can! haha
Just watched Tamara’s vlog of her getting her new kitchen stuff and being all excited about it. Then click on your video straight afterwards. Only to see Darius bringing you T’s brand new pot…I was like NO!! that’s T’s new pot.🫣 Bless her she took it in her stride though. Tbh If I were her, I would still use it to cook your food in, but I’d clean first. 😂
When youre moving a fish that could literally stop your heart id think the best option would be the one with the fewest steps😂 taking it in and out of a bucket gives you a higher chance of messing up and getting shocked... so joey did good
I love the respect you have for this animal, I love that you openly say that you are scared, I love the way you take this seriousl and I also love how you and your family interact with each other. A lovely video ♥
Can we just say joey looks so happy with tamara she really supports him, and you can tell he appreciates it. Off camera, she's hitting him with that pot 😂
@thekingofdiy she's adorable! You can tell she is so genuine, and she loves you to pieces! Plus, you can tell you love her as well. I'm loving her channel!
Fish are always bigger in person. They look great! My goldfish are dinner plate size. no predators in my possession yet. I have electric blue acaras and angelfish if they count. 😅my acaras do bite lol
9:30- if we think of those who work with electricity they use a type of rubber glove, so would those help when transferring an electric eel in the case of them possibly jumping out of the net and you need to rangle them back in. Just for safety...
Darius has grown. I still remember when he named the puffer. Yes Darius be the next King of DIY. Out do Joey and toss him off of his thrown. You've been given a clear advantage. You've watched Joey and heard him all these years and probably longer than all of us. You've got the know how. You can do it. Consider it a bit of payback for his messed up joke of putting you up for adoption. 🤣🤣🤣
Bucket with lid to avoid temp shock running outside as the water will act as a temp "buffer" and avoid dropping him is the way a would personnaly go but what works works and it's easier to avoid touching him the way you did
Bad planning on the transfer. You should've had gloves on in case it jumped out of the net because you'd need to put it back in by grabbing it somehow or push it back into the net. Also, your son should've put the towel over the top of the net when you lifted that part out, while the fish was still in the water. You should've gone over the plan, and made contingencies in case of problems.
Awesome video as usual. Do you plan on setting up any audio so that you can hear the eel emit electricity. If so, please show us a proper setup. No one on UA-cam has a video doing this! Thanks!!!
Awesome setup as usual the bricks are cool on camera they look real. But you need a dimmer light and some low light sword plants for the tank he would look phenomenal in a darker lit tank.. with some greenery
I have an electric eel from the same batch this one came from. Her name is Eelanor Roosevolt, she wants me to pet her. when i hold my hand against the tank she comes zooming over and swims back and forth like shes rubbing her tummy on my hand,
Could you put water from the tank he's going into in a bucket, then net him from his tank and put him in the bucket ? That way, you could just tip him from the bucket into his new tank
I would have had a bucket /tote with water in it the right size to: Net the eel, place eel net and all into container carried to the new tank then just left net and eel and put in tank. This would have eliminated any cold air from hitting the eel and the eel would have still been in water except for the two pick up moments.
Enjoyable content; like the old days. How about panda garras or Ancistrus L519 or Wabenmusters(sp?) for algae control? Hope your partner is recovering apace.
Joey, I tried your exact method of bar keepers friend on hard waterstains. Sadly, it did not work. What should I try next? And this is on the outside back panel.
Oh damn! As someone who’s been watching the channel for i think 7, maybe actually even 8 years now.. i didn’t even recognize Darius! I think the last video i remember him being in was when you all went on vacation.. which i think was also when we first saw Tamara.. he may have made a quick cameo in another video.. but jeez! Ahh, dont sweat it! Pros and cons to having kids early VS later. Later, i woulda had my life together and ready. Early just meant... well... hopefully they get out soon so i can relive my 20's! haha (kidding, i hope they never leave me... all i ever wanted to be was a father)
why dont use a large plastic bag thats how i move large koi and cat fish !and just slip them out into the tank ! less stress and easy to handel and use a RUBBER APRON ! TO STOP ANY SHOCKS ! GOOD LUCK ,
Fun fact, i go swimming on empty stomach, then i eat on the resturant that is where the pool is, and litterarly 3 minutes after im done eating i jump out in the water again :P
Happy to see Darius getting strong. I remember seeing him as a little pup.
My daughter is home in a couple weeks. might get them to react to the gallery again... first time in years!

So nice to see your son. He is so big and very handsome like you Joey. Great video, I was on edge when you moved the Eel
I definitely agree the net and run method is the best way to do it.

Shark: am I a joke to you?!
Yes.
@@thekingofdiyhaha
Get a neon sign to put in front of the door to the tank and have it hooked up to whee whenever the eel produces electricity the neon sign lights up.
Wow! Look how much better he looks now compared to when he got to you. He's not skinny anymore!
He’s grown up sooo much!!! The last thing I remember he was just a youngin
Carry on the legacy Darius!!
WOW...Darius has grown so much since I've last seen him. Good to see him again.
Holy shhhh bro that’s was your boy !! How time flys .. keep up the great work!!

Joey....That is the healthiest Eel I have ever seen! Congrats!! that's do to your expertise! Cheers Lovi
I think it comes down to environment and diet. We have to focus on whats best for the fish as opposed to what we think LOOKS good.
As always I like what your doing. Haven't seen your son in a while. He is growing up 😊
Great job. And it's awesome to see this side of your life.
The biceps run in the family!

His little side flap flaps are adorable. Now I want one 😂 if I can get rid of my small tanks I just want a few big ones lol

I feel like the electric eel is Joey's most favorite fish of all. He call him bro as if he's a real bro.
Darius, for the new King of DIY !!!
LMAO Joey !!!
@uarujoey the funniest family video with potentially serious ramifications!!! 😂😂😂 ✌🏿💯
WELL DONE !
😂😂😂😂 brilliant joey so lovely to see you so happy xxx
I remember when Bruce Wayne was in your basement. Is that Tamara's new pot!?!?! (Five seconds later. Tamara:"my new pot" that's priceless)
ya, that was it. i didnt even know she had a new pot.
Love to see the family.

Hey Joe, I remember when your sons was this little boy you call to name the “Flowerhorn”, damn he is bigger than you now😮😮😮
Hes a beast now wow
Awesome setup as usual the bricks are cool on camera they look real. But you need a dimmer light and some low light sword plants for the tank he would look phenomenal in a darker lit tank.. with some greenery
Wouldn't swords need a much thicker layer of substrate though? They're heavy root feeders.
This is awesome, family time🎉🎉
Now that's cool watching him eat

Problem with that is you're working with an animal that could literally kill you if you touch it so the fewer steps the better I reckon
Love being able to see the eel. Need more Oscar's
Love the vids but premier at like 10pm uk time please joey thanks lol also please a huge shoal of clown loaches of pictus for the 21ft tank
It will be 1030pm your time. I won’t be home until the time it’s set to now. I want to be in the chat too!
Thanks joey keep up the amazing content
Holy cray Darius has grown up
Wow.. i dont remember the last time i saw your son in your vid.. suddenly all grown up! Haha...
Bro the bichir got YUGE
Yo Darius became a menace
I can see your love for your son. Hopes he likes to be the prince of diy. I think I am his age too .
You should put an electric catfish or an aba aba knifefish on the other side of the TV to go with the electric eel
Love the eel
hi Joe how's your discus? you haven't upload any update about them.
you could have put a small piece of tuna fish in the tank a week before to feed the beneficial bacteria and start the cycle going
Enjoyable content; like the old days. How about panda garras or Ancistrus L519 or Wabenmusters(sp?) for algae control? Hope your partner is recovering apace.
I think you did a fantastic job 🎉
before the prince replaces the king he must get 20 inch biceps
With the electric eel to the left of the flat screen, should there be an insulator between the eel and the screen? possible arcing.
haha its not like that! but maybe i can rig something up to power it a bit?
It would be so nice to actually see fish keeping in the same tank long term ! Everything is so temporary.
Which fish specifically?
Awesome vid again Joey been awhile since the boy been in one Tamara was probably thinking 2-3 days for bathroom should of been yesterday 😂
How did Darius grow so fast 😂
He has got so big and much healthier
I rather do it your way than having your hands close to him and threat of getting shock by an electric eel. Safety First
Joey, I tried your exact method of bar keepers friend on hard waterstains. Sadly, it did not work. What should I try next? And this is on the outside back panel.

I’m honestly curious maybe I missed it what happened to the shop he was starting
That feel by the wayside thru no fault of Joeys videos way back about it possibly a year or more ago
Darius grew up fast, wasn’t he just a little guy?
ya. 😥
RIP ROD...LOL
.....or Joey. lol
that poor brand new pot😅 my wife would kill me if I do that to her pot.
ya, my son is garbage. been telling him that for YEARS! haha
Just a thought if you do put him up for adopting it could potentially free up a room for more tanks 😂😅😂
FACTS
Marine ells would look nice in the tank next to him
Who is Tamara? She is absolutely stunning!
My GF... then Fiancee... and in 5 months... my wife. And shes "OK"... she'll do. right?
Why not buy more arowana ? In america they have arowanas like guppys
Do you think you will get more electric fish? Like the catfish and other fish that i don't know about?
Net him and put him in a tote with water from the new tank so you can Carrie him over to the new tank and dump him in IMO
you didn't cut it out 🤣
