    This why I watched your videos. I remember it was from you that I learned how to note down my work coordinate after I homed the machine so it can be used to get to the job coordinate if something happen during the job run. I think this will complement that approach. I'll certainly play around with this G30 code. Thank you very much.

    It is a good code to use to save your start position of your xyz. I use it if I have multiple tool paths or tool change and run out of time to finish a project. Then I can resume later.

    Thanks for this JDD !! You have no idea how much better G30 is going to make my laser PCB fabrication. I have been manually writing down my start position for laser jobs..... Like a caveman !!!!!

      @@lannywestgard6131 I was also doing that for a long time until I found i could do this 😁

    Brilliant, thanks very much, I don't use the cnc as much as I should, but this is certainly going to help a lot.

    On my 3018 i have no limit switches. Can I perform a manual home before the G30 commands? I have a simple home point marker fitted so I can reliably find Home manually.

      Even 3018 without limit switches can be manipulated with a keen eye & finger reflexes. Manually jog to absolute end of travel, eg Front, Left, High. just touching frame. Press the reset button on the controller. That will reset Machine coordinates to Zero. You can apply the G30.1 command. And recall it with G30.
      When creating macros, ensure you select Machine Coordinate system G53. You can then apply G30, G54 - 59 etc

    Thank you for another amazing video! I really want to start CNCing some aluminum can you suggest the best desktop setup for that?

      For aluminium, your probably looking at the 3030 Pro Max or the 4040 Pro Max from Sainsmart. They are the most rigid vs size and cost at the minute

    Hi if i start a completely new job, do i need a new G30 gode, if i understand correctly G30 is job start position coordinate code.

    • @JamesDeanDesigns
      @JamesDeanDesigns  16 годин тому

      @taaviliiv5904 G30 is basically just telling your machine to remember a certain location. So if you always start your jobs from the exact same position, then no you only need to do it once. If you start in different positions each time, then yes, do the G30 command before starting each job

    Do this work on lasers?

  • @Jimbojenkins
    @Jimbojenkins 12 годин тому

    a command is not a memory position! Semantics mean something, words mean things, learn them. you're a ball of confusion hahahahaha

    as well as G30 etc, typr in $# and see what is returned.
    PRB: The location where you last probed your CNC
    G54 : you didn't set it but it's your last Zero'd XYZ location
