    Ok you guys I watched this video at least 5 times to figure out the beer beerloto. Did some Google searching and got the Rachel Ray recipe. I never heard of it but have since had 24 of them. Yeah, I'm addicted. 😋😉

    Very well done video. 👍 Crystal Beach is our spot. We love riding there and the fragrance as we pass the chimp farm. Love to learn more about your setup as my wife and I are getting into biking and may plan a trip similar to yours.

      Thanks for watching! The chimp farm is a pretty unique place to visit, lol. We also have an online journal of most of our bicycle trips which provides additional info that may be helpful, www.crazyguyonabike.com/dallgire

    Awesome. I so new to gravel biking, I trying to figure out how you get back to starting point, or how most do it.

    • @PedalPowerAdventures

      It depends, but the best options are renting a car or Uhaul Truck. Depending on the distance Uhaul trucks are typically the cheapest and are in almost every small town.

      Thanks for the sub. much appreciated! The backpack is an Osprey Raptor 14. www.amazon.com/dp/B07GH7KCK4/ref=twister_B0942WZGHJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 This was my backpack that my wife was using, she has recently switched to an Osprey Salida 12 which fits her better. www.amazon.com/Osprey-Salida-Hydration-Black-Cloud/dp/B07JF7KJ5R/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2QFT32WW87KAS&keywords=osprey+salida+12&qid=1647619396&s=sporting-goods&sprefix=osprey+Sali%2Csporting%2C111&sr=1-1

    Thanks for sharing the trip! For those who want to do this on a gravel bike, are there reasonable work arounds for the gnarlier single track?

    • @PedalPowerAdventures
      @PedalPowerAdventures  2 роки тому

      It is possible to skip the singletrack trails by taking paved roads on some and in Santos area you can take the paved bike path. Everything is doable on a gravel bike, just may have to walk some of the sandy sections. Thanks for watching and happy trails!

    Just finished watching this trip vlog. Enjoyed it very much. Think the trails are doable on a gravel bike? Have ridden some of them mtb. Live in Melbourne.

    • @PedalPowerAdventures
      @PedalPowerAdventures  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching! I would think it's doable for sure, you may just have to push the bike a little more in some of the sandier sections.

    Nice adventure ride. Wonder when you went out on this trip to avoid the heat ?

    • @PedalPowerAdventures
      @PedalPowerAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching! We started this ride on March 2nd. I think this ride would be ideal from November to March, possibly could do it in October or April but could be too hot. Another thing to consider is hunting season at all of the wildlife areas, that is something you just have to check and wear orange if needed. Ride on!

    Lovely! I copied your salsa cage fork mount setup on my S7, I haven't gotten to test them out much yet, how have they been holding up? Considering the micro panniers instead of the seat boner; what was the thoughts/choices in going that route in your setup? What are you using for framebags on the S7, with it's curves?

    • @PedalPowerAdventures
      @PedalPowerAdventures  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! Awesome you have an S7 and hope you are enjoying it as much as I with mine. My wife and I both have a little over 2,000 miles of bikepacking with the salsa cage fork mount setup and so far it’s been perfect. The only thing I did after I made the video was add two extra heavy duty zip ties to each mount for extra insurance, not sure if they are needed or not though. It’s all personal preference, but the main reason for going with the Revelate Design’s micro panniers and Old Man Mountain racks initially is my wife is 5’-1” and was concerned a large seat bag would not work. But now after using this setup for over 4,000 miles I don’t think I will ever go with a large seat bag. Those Revelate Design’s micro panniers are awesome and keep your load low, secure and never get in your way. The added benefit with a rack is it’s more versatile too. We keep our food in a dry bag and shoes on top of the rack, held down with two washboard straps. The rack adds a little bit of weight but to me it’s well worth the trade off. For the framebag I got a custom one from Bedrock bags, super easy process. I sent them a picture of my bike with a tape measure along the top tube and they used that to make the custom bag. I have a medium frame S7 and wife has a small, for her bike she was able to use her Revelate Design small framebag. My medium Revelate framebag did not work with the medium S7. Hope this helps! Ride on.

    Wow... what an amazing Video ! and journey . We really appreciate your time and effort in sharing your experiences.We know that it takes so much time in settings up and editing your footage ( thank you ) . I live in Fl. and you show things and places that most people do not know exists. I have mostly done road touring and over the past five years I have gotten more into Bikepacking . With the growing concerns of increasing traffic and Distracted Drivers and so much more to see without as many concerns we can see the popularity growing. Have you mapped your route? How would one acquire it if you have.
    Thank you again Ken Britton

      Hey Ken, thanks for watching. Bikepacking is the way to go, totally agree with you on the busy roads with distracted drivers. We were really impressed with this route and it's worthy of going on the bucket list of epic adventures. If you are interested in riding this route, and I hope you do, you can get the gpx route for a small fee from Karlos at www.singletracksamurai.com/ . He spent a great deal of time and effort developing this route. I would normally share the gpx file but I can't on this one, hope you understand.

      We have not ventured down to SE Florida yet, but there are a bunch of dirt roads out there in the Everglades that I'm sure you could make into a nice bikepacking route.
