Hey, Barry. I'm a new subscriber (returning the favor). I love this video of that playful bison calf jumping on his momma. I stopped at Custer State Park on a drive out west during 2017. It's an awesome park and the Black Hills are fantastic. I drove from Kentucky to Omaha (Offutt A.F.B. is the Mecca of my military service). Then went to Wounded Knee, looped through the Badlands, and stayed overnight at Hill City. I can't remember what order I did things in, but while I was in the area, I also went to Wall Drug (LOL), Mt. Rushmore, the Crazy Horse monument, and Virginia City. Out west of there I drove on I-90 through the Powder River Basin, and from the road I could see how they mine coal out west. It's quite a bit different from how we mine it in Harlan (and Louisa!). I also dog-legged south to see the Devil's Tower national monument. I mean, you can't get that close and not go, right?!? I ended up going on out to Yellowstone after that. Anyway, this sure brought back memories of that great trip. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
I thought Custer State park was awesome. We flew into Denver and rented a car and drove up to Rapid City. Each day we would hit a new site. I actually love Wall Drug :) I was to crazy about Crazy Horse but Rushmore, Wind Cave, Deadwood and Devils Tower is unbelievable. My parents are from around Prestonsburg , I was born in Louisa but we later moved to Columbus Ohio. I was selling a lot of jeans on eBay, then hats and trying to do print ads. I have a fraction of what you have listed but you give me hope.
Amen!! So True!!!
So true!
