I use a bit of everything but haven't put any time into Logic or Cubase. Each DAW makes me approach the process differently which is why I like to switch up. I'm surprised you didn't mention Reason.
Bolo. Ableton Live is incredibly flexible! On Scene mode, it allows you to trigger scenes (with a Midi machine as Novation Launchpads or Ableton Push 2) so you can audition it with other scenes. This feature alone helps you organize and arrange your final song/ beat! It feels Almost as a DJ playing/ auditioning records simultaneously, to combine the final mix!

Hi Bolo. I've been an Fl. Studio (Fl) user since about 2011. A couple of things: I'm an emerging intermediate hobbyist. Most likely you have used Edison. You can sample chop within Edison due to its add marker function. What I don't like about Fl. Is the continued use of 32-bit plugins. J Bridge is ok for converting 32-bit to 64-bit. Cubase has abandoned 32-bit programs as of Cubase 10 I think? Also, the file system in Fl. (like Reason) is really clunky and has always been a hit & miss with me. Have you tried ZGame editor? (it's not about games) it will blow your mind. Plus Fl. has free lifetime updates. Other than the above Fl. Studio is pretty awesome. In closing, yes I know the title of the video, but you make no mention of i0s and your experience with Beat Maker 3. That's probably a subject for another video. lol
You are so right about FL Studio. I got it because I collaborate with a younger music producer. The only thing I do not like about FL Studio is the GUI. I hate the way GUI locks to your primary screen. If you have a laptop and secondary monitor set up, when you launch FL Studio, it locks on the laptop screen. Other DAWs allow you to move the entire GUI around. I've been in the FL Studio forum and everybody is clueless on this issue. Most FL studio users are on windows. Small % are on Mac. Other than that, all the other DAWs you mentioned I use as well. LPX, Studio One, MPC Software/Hardware and sometimes Reason. I know a little bit of Ableton. Salute Bolo
I'm team Reason, FL, Cubase, Ableton, MPC Studio, and now Bitwig. I'm really falling in love with Bitwig - I wish they add a midi scale fold like Ableton in the piano roll, and it'll probably be my main DAW. Oh, and Beatmaker on my iPad.
This video resonated with me off the rip. I ventured into music making years ago. However, I gravitated towards iOS and never looked back. Multiple DAW’s definitely serves a purpose. No matter if your set up is mobile, desktop or Mac, each app/program has its own unique function. Nowadays we can break the rules and be very innovative. Thanks for sharing fam.

@@TreigusPereira Use each DAW for its unique strengths. For example, FL is amazing for MIDI note entry and editing, Ableton excels at stretching audio and for loop-based production, Pro Tools and Reaper are great for linear audio production and mixing, etc.
first thanks for the content. I've learned so much from you in the last 3 years. I have used all FL, Logic, Abeton,Beatmaker 3, pro tools and now I own a Mac live2 thanks to your videos. keep posting bolo. keep helping out the community
When I was a beginner I mixed my songs on NERO soundtracks. And recorded my loops and sounds with Nero editor. My first DAW was HipHop Ejay4, but I always experimented with sounds. Never used ready patterns.
I use Pro Tools and I use Studio one. I used to use reason in pro tools through rewire before the new version of pro tools. I used to use the motif and I figured how to synch it with pro tools to record and I never looked back.
I have the feeling that FL Studio is particularly popular in the hiphop industry. Whereas if you would want to do a collab in, let's say, the techno scene you would typically run into a lot of Ableton heads. Ableton, especially in combination with the Push 2, is highly recommended btw. Once you've got your head around the Session View (which is basically using multiple MPC tracks at the same time by selecting them like pads) it becomes insanely powerful. Also, its looping capabilities (which are pretty poor on the MPC) are second to none.
I use Mpc with fl studio. I export my beat in Mpc mix down to WAV set it to export tracks to sdcard. Set your bpm on fl studio and drag your tracks that’s what I do
Actually….. this post has got my mind reeling with ideas of extending how I used to record before I ever started using a DAW. Time to experiment some more! Salute, Bolo ✌️😆💯‼️🔥
Ableton 11 might be the most user friendly daw...it’s a modular instrument. The pitch bending, the resampling, the arrangement view, fast parameter movement, Synthesis, open source(user designed plugins). Then you can play it like a dj in clip view...it’s an instrument
I use so many different daws. Machine. FLstudio20, Abelton, MPC studio, studio one, Serato Sample. Etc. Like you said they all serve their purpose. And I use each for different reasons.
Ableton is great with audio....real time timestretch on audio and samples....drum racks reminded me of the mpc....session view allows u to mix and match parrs from different sequences in real time so u can experiment with different patterns...and its easy to drag and drop or record from session view to the linear arrangement view...or u can just compose in a linear fashion like every other daw.....for sound design it can't be matched....instrument racks allow u to layer and indicually process any plugins in the rack....the routing is as simple as selecting options from a pull-down menu on each track.....for me it's incredible...I'm using ableton and/or the mpc.

i feel the same way about Abelton . 1 it came free with most keyboards, 2. The interface did not look Professional it looked toyish to me. And the font is hard to read so I really did not investigated the sounds much. I found out you can change the color of the interface from the pale blue to black and grey with white font. It feels like night and day more Pro vibe. I wish Mpc Beats had a skin change option. I also use several other daws. Abelton has allot of free expansion sounds you can get too. Thanks for all your good work .
Using different things to produce with opens up the creative side of the mind. By forcing your self to produce in a different DAW or Hardware it forces you to make beats different. This is the ultimate way to grow as a producer.
I used every DAW except reaper. I use Maschine x ProTools Studio 1 is good Albeton is good as well I like that the effects are at the bottom. But I been using ProTools since 2002.
It's fun using different software....I mostly use Ableton, but also Bitwig and FL. I tried studio one, it's not a bad DAW. You should try Ableton, the things FL falls short on, Ableton gets it done pretty easy. For instance, there are far less drop down menus, and the workflow is more streamlined than FL. The sampler is actually one of the best in the game! You get several options for chopping and it auto time stretches unless u want to be more detailed... it give u the flexibility

I sure hear what you say about Ableton Live seeming "backward." I learned on Mixcraft, which is a timeline-focused DAW like Cakewalk, Cubase, Studio One, and Logic. I'm pretty good with manually triggering samples and loops, I can jam on that, but I still can't get my head around Ableton's way. I'd like to, though, because I want to be able to play out with my electronic stuff and Ableton seems to have the best solution for that. My DAW of choice is Cakewalk, but I got Studio One Artist with a Presonus interface, and it's pretty good, too. If Cakewalk (as SONAR) had died forever 5 years ago when Gibson dumped it, I'd probably be using Studio One.
I would definitely tune in to the Studio One Tutorials!!! The first DAW I had just not as popular FL is cool and easier but if I wax proficient I'd use Studio One and MPC
Always logic and when it comes to making money and doing a professional job. I’m old school too and started with logic and MPCs. Back then it wasn’t easy to click in notes unless you had your music theory on point. I’ve always enjoyed learning and using different equipment and DAWs, and it depends on my mood. Love FL studio and MPC, but Logic when im on the clock and can’t afford F ups and weird quirks…
Oh bro I use my mpc 1000 & mpc live with FL Studio. Yea you can track with & without the clicks being recorded. I assume that’s what you mean by the “shift to transient” right? I can walk you thru how to do it.
I Agree Ableton was backwards to me and the MPC X to me sounds better in controller mode maschine works great with my east west sounds and I still use motif and integra 7 so I definitely get it But definitely try Reason I think it bridges the gap in many angles😎😎
....to me logic is a go to daw for 10 years too...using ableton for acapellas time warp..its just amazing for that...and also tried cubase 12 and bought it recently...i was blown away by the sound engine, still can't use cubase as logic x but it sounds just fantastic compared to logic..much cleaner warmer sound...you should try it sometime....regards
Some programs solve certain problems better than others. Do you transfer parts of projects between DAWs ? How is your experience working with more than one program at a time ?
BOLO FOR 100K 💯 🔥! I use Logic for my beats mainly because my dad 10 years ago used to make beats using Logic so I followed his word! I personally think FL Studio has the fastest workflow to new producers from all DAWs. I feel like Logic has a bit of a slower workflow, but I like the slower workflow and I don’t like clicking in notes a lot and I like to play on my keyboard more, it’s what I grew up with and always messing around on the keyboard instead of clicking!
I get it Bolo why you’re using these programs, but where does your iPad game fit in for producing or is that something you just use for creative purposes to get projects or ideas started when you’re alone? 👍🏽
If you got an Ableton push I think it would help you learn Ableton better. I too use several daws including all the ones you have mentioned except Ableton lol. When I had a push Ableton was actually pretty fun but without it like you said it feels backwards haha
I use multiple daws to help with beat block, and it helps when hitting different studios and collaboration work. Logic Mpc software Protools ,Digital Performer, Acid pro, Serato Studio, Maschine software but could not get into abelton just didn't do it for me .
Abelton seems so complicated and simple at the same time, I understand what I want to do but I'd be damn if I know how to get there constantly, same with the MPC studio software, if I'm using a mouse alone it's a wrap compared to controller mode with my Live 2 which is just a simple screen tap
ABLETON IS KING!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 The compatibility it has with the MPC workflow is amazing!
Can you please flesh out your workflow with the MPC and ABLETON?
I’d love to hear this too.
Me as well.

Studio One is my Goat go to to finish everything
I used every DAW except reaper.
I use Maschine x ProTools
Studio 1 is good
Albeton is good as well I like that the effects are at the bottom. But I been using ProTools since 2002.
You should try Reason, not sure why it’s so slept on.
Thanks!
You close to that 100k homie!!!! And I’m Logic Pro X and Reason Gang
First time I heard a bolo beat was when I used to listen to Doe B . R.I.P.
Yessir!!
Trap Muzik and IDGAF made on Logic 💪🏾
Smile made on FL Studio 💪🏾
Studio one....but I run my mpc5000 with motif fantom triton thru 24 track mackie..to studio one....then once I track everything then If I need to my studio one has M1 all 20 sound cards triton extreme ms20. Prophecy all korg and Roland keyboards....dream come thru
Dude. Thank you so much.
I love the mpc software sequence it works better for me
Oh bro I use my mpc 1000 & mpc live with FL Studio.
Master of your craft!
Reason user here, give it a go when you get a chance 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Dope and informative.
....to me logic is a go to daw for 10 years too...using ableton for acapellas time warp..its just amazing for that...and also tried cubase 12 and bought it recently...i was blown away by the sound engine, still can't use cubase as logic x but it sounds just fantastic compared to logic..much cleaner warmer sound...you should try it sometime....regards
Some programs solve certain problems better than others. Do you transfer parts of projects between DAWs ? How is your experience working with more than one program at a time ?
Not really, sometimes I transfer my MPC stuff into logic or studio one
i use maschine within fl studio playing in my stuff pretty streamlined
I wish I knew more about logic
Fl studio is 💯 but Mpc software awesome
I’m gona look into studio 1 for sure
Just got a decent pc
Everybody sleeping on Roland. Zenbeats is the one, especially for mobile users.
I got a year subscription to Studio based off of watching some of your videos….good decision
Mad versatility very interesting topic 💯 btw liking the vids pretty new here u mad entertaining to watch
FL user but I feel the same way about abelton… I want to get into it but abelton throws me off man I can’t explain it
I use multiple daws to help with beat block, and it helps when hitting different studios and collaboration work.
