How To Make Ice Cream With A Frying Pan [DIY Cold Stone] - NightHawkInLight

  • The weather's warming up! In this video I put together a DIY Ice Cream Cold Plate and make some seriously good ice cream. Give it a try!
It's been brought to my attention that dry ice is not legal in some countries. You can make ice cream in the same way on a thick piece of steel or stone that has been left in the freezer overnight. You just have to work fast because it won't stay cold enough for very long.

+Magnificent Sarah It is and can be fun to use for other fun things too, when my brother was little he had a homemade volcano cake for one of this birthdays and my mother used dry ice to simulate the smoke!

Just a general tip - *don't use metal utensils/tools on non-stick pans *EVER**. If you do, you will scrape up and ruin the non-stick coating completely. For non-stick pans, it's best to use plastic, rubber, silicon, or wooden tools/utensils so that they won't ruin the coating. If you have a stainless steel pan with no coating or, better yet, a cast iron skillet like in this video, you're good to go.

Cold Stone's ice cream originally used pudding as the cream base. I made homemade pudding ice cream once and it was amazing. Almost exactly like Cold Stone.

Had this by some street vendor in Turkey, if you plaster the mixture with your chopped strawberrys to make a thin layer like your laying grout over the pan and wait a bit, then use a scraper to scrape up in a single motion, you can form little rolls of ice cream that pack neatly into a cup and can be eaten like finger foods.

If I build one my goal would be to make it under $60 and make something more convenient that the salt and ice ice cream maker I have now. Having a few set up for fund raisers would be great.

Isn't it cheaper to just buy the icecream instead of buying dry ice and putting in a load of extra work.

Depends the price of the ingredients, but in my opinion I think it's cheaper buying it

Instead of dry ice, which I've not seen available at any grocery store around here, why can't you put the pan in the freezer?I've seen this on other videos and it turned out the same.Cool video.Looks yummy.Going to try the freezer method.😊

I like how he's like: you can use rubbing alcohol but be careful to not get it in the ice cream... but he's fine with the dry ice? Like... None of it is going to touch the ice cream. You don't need to be using expensive alcohol.

if you can get dry ice just crush it and mix it in to cream it co2 is eatable
and if you don't reach dry ice. just use old ice and salt water trick will work to cooling Frying Pan below freezing point
