    7:48 Forgot to mention Greece signed a 2021 mutual defense pact with France that exists outside of NATO. Article five would not really kick in if Turkey and Greece start fighting because both are NATO members. The deal with France though, that is separate. It would immediately escalate a conflict over the Agean by bringing in a nuclear armed regional power into the mix. Probably a good idea for Paris to have entered into this deal with Athens though. Turkey has a larger population, military and economy than Greece. This advantage can lead to aggressiveness and miscalculation that can result in war. The deal with France can be a deterrent that stops this conflict before it flares up.

      Article 8 prohibits a NATO country to invade another. So technically speaking the invading country would be kicked out of NATO and the other country would invoke 5 and get the NATO support. Of course a real application of this would be insanely more complicated and really all bets are off.

      Have you heard of a guy named Luigi Lucheni? Probably not. Back in 1898 he assassinated Franz Joseph's wife Elizabeth. Even though he was later hagned, today he regarded as a hero of Italian people. His actions didn't spark a war because Austria probably wasn't convinced that she could beat newely unified Italy. Oppose that to Princip's case, where you have a small country with maybe few million people whom Austria resented for years and tried to occupy/colonize it for years. There were many times when Austria tried to provoke Serbia into escalating-occupation of Bosnia, which was very much inhabited by Serbs, discrimanation againts Serbs throughout Austria, ordering Serbs to step away from Adriatic sea during the First Balkan war, creating Albania on those territories,...Make no mistake, Franz Ferdinand's assassination wasn't a cause, it was an excuse for war, the war that Austria wanted and the war that they thought they would win.

    • @jezreall7837
      @jezreall7837 Рік тому

      first of all, history is variable, and at that time Anatolia had its own local people and Armenians, whereas the Greeks did not. The Romans are carrying out the first genocide against Armenians in history, and the Armenians are moving from the Mediterranean to the north of the Caucasus. thousands of years later, the Turks are entering Anatolia. The invasion of Anatolia by the Oghuz Turks took place in 1071, but between 1020 and 1070, with the arrival of the pre-turks, Anatolia begins to be turkified, the Turkmens driven out by the Oghuz Turks came to Anatolia with a slight migration. The Armenian genocide is real, but there is no such thing as the Greek genocide. according to the agreement signed with the population exchange, the Christian Turkish and Greek communities are going to Greece, and the Turks in Greece are going to Turkey. also, if you are not objective in history and continue to study history with the classic stupid western understanding, you will be wasting your brain.

    Interesting, some scenarios I never would've thought of and glad you didn't jump to the obvious one of Taiwan but kind of surprised you didn't mention Armenia-Azerbaijan. Specifically if there is some type of ethnic cleansing or even full scale invasion of Armenia. Azerbaijan has the backing of Turkey and Armenia has Iran, perhaps in a situation like this the two get into a proxy war, the two already have beef. It could stop "just" there but with Saudi Arabia always involved with its proxy conflicts and the number of groups in the region could maybe become something real ugly.

      It's great that you're trying to defend your country, but unfortunately, you got your facts wrong. At the time of independence in *1947,* India and Pakistan were partitioned along religious lines. Areas with a Muslim majority became part of Pakistan, and areas with a Hindu and Sikh majority became part of India. India became officially secular after the Constitution came into force on January 26, *1950.*
      As of June 2023, Pakistan has the second-largest population of Muslims in the world. The largest population of Muslims is not in India, it's in Indonesia-a very different country. India comes third.

    • @Saravjeet2012
      @Saravjeet2012 Рік тому +1

      The foundation of India was secular. The whole point that Nehru and Gandhi made was that India is a secular country and Muslims do not need to fear. But it was Jinnah who stoked the fear for power. India had various minorities at the time of Independence not Just Sikhs. There were Jains, parsis, Christian, buddhist and jews in India at the time of Independence. Just because it took some time to form the constitution doesn't mean India wasn't secular. And Pakistan have a couple of more hundred thousands of Muslims overall. India will take over Pakistan in Muslim population sooner or later.

    Keep in mind that something will happen when the Supreme Leader of Iran dies, and he is said to be very sick. What the outcome will be is something only a fool would predict with certainty. Long story short, the body that chooses the next leader is badly divided. The current leader has been promoting his son, but many grumbling that they didn’t fight a revolution to create a new dynasty. Many in the group and other important bodies like the revolutionary guard corps are less ideological than many assume, and they care far more about maintaining their privileges than ideology (high ranking members of the guard corps own ports, huge estates and even an entire terminal of the Tehran airport). The Supreme Leader has encouraged this division over the decades to maintain power, as well as the privileges of ultra-loyal, but not ideological, elite. Once the glue that holds it all together dies, it will be quite the drama, especially with a large majority of ordinary people fed up with the whole system. How all of this will reverberate to Israel and beyond is anyone’s guess, as is the final outcome- if there is one.

Support from Russia for Iran isn't much of a threat we can see how badly Russia is doing in Ukraine and the massive losses and logistic issues which have occurred even with a country right on its border. Russia having to move weapons and troops 1,000 miles plus to Iran/Israel doesn't seem much of a threat, I also suspect Israel could deal with Iran on its own. Unless it becomes what Ukraine War is and a proxy being fought by NATO and Russia within Ukraine.
