Of all the trainers I've been around....and seen....your understanding and desensitizing methods are far superior because you understand it takes time...others use it but in a more pressed for time method which doesn't fully get it done....what you produce is what I consider a "bomb proof" horse in any situation ....a superior well rounded ...versitile horse....and it takes time...patience.... knowledge...understanding and love of the horse....love watching you and the different things your channel takes us along on....keep it up and don't change
Thank you so much Steve 🙌🙌 Much appreciated, I am so happy to be meeting other people that are like minded. A good horse takes YEARS ☺️ Thank you for coming along all of our adventures!
You are such an awesome trainer. The way these horses respond to you is amazing. The horses are so comfortable and at ease with you. You really have earned their respect as they have for you, I absolutely love watching you and your happy dance!
I'm exhausted just watching "the Dance"! I saw some of that horse napping going on too and it is a generous statement as to the excellent teaching/training .....NOT "breaking" in old school bronc riding as Cisco says. Couple of times I could see those ears saying..."that girl needs to cut back on the sweet tea" 😂. A prime example of quality and professionalism ....unless you include "the dance" in their take home video, just kidding...I loved it 😉
🤣🤣 Trust me I laughed so hard making this video... I surprised myself and was like WOW is that how crazy I always look when doing this dance 😂 I am sure these colts think I am a crazy lady but I am glad they will put up with me 😂 Glad you liked this video ☺️
Carrot Cake be like, whoa the crazy one’s back to dance? (You need to do a clip with captions of what you think they’re thinking…maybe one of the cookie videos). She’s a purty horse!
Another great video...Carrot Cake is my favorite...I have a love for 4 white socks! My favorite horse for years was a chestnut gelding with 4 white socks...he was a character too!!
It’s so awesome watching you, the horse’s reactions to you, how much they admire and respect you, they know you are doing everything in your power to make them better and able to relate to the humans for that thank you and Cisco are just the best!
Amry, you're one of the few trainers I've ever watched who train with such gentle consistency, patience and horse sense. It's fascinating to me. Though I must admit, Carrot Cake is so gorgeous, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Thank you so much for sharing! 🤠
Thank you Amry! These are such perfect training videos, especially now- I’m so excited- we are buying a yearling! And it’s from someone you know!! 😊 And I’m gonna need all the help I can get!!
Carrot Cake is a riot. Her mane is crazy! And she was giving the crazy dance some serious side eye! 😂😂😂 Can you tell us a bit on each horse - are they yours, are you training for someone else, will they be for sale, etc? ❤❤❤
Right 🤣🤣 Carrot Cake was like... ohh boy this girl!! Ha! Carrot Cake is my personal horse, Blue Jean and Hank are owned by my dad. We bought all three of these horses from The Pitzer Ranch in Ericson, Nebraska last fall when they were weanlings. These three all have the same sire - Dukes N Diva, but they all have different mamas. At the moment they are not for sale. They could possible be for sale in the future but most likely not until they are 5-6 years old. Hope that answers some questions for you ❤️ (as a side note we just enjoy buying babies and raising/training them then selling them when they are ready for a new home) ... a few of the horses we don't sell if they become 'keepers' to us ☺️
Hi again AMRY Lol I'm thinking there's a good chance Carrotcake was thinking she better stand still in case you really lost it lol! You've got the moves girl and thinking after that you've definitely made huge progress!! Must say using the fence that way is something I always thought good prep for the future as you mentioned but must say I've been laughed at for a dumb idea even though I knew it worked. More trainers should use it to get ahead for year two. What's the status on Carrotcake? Will she be for sale at some point? Her breeding? Seriously you've done an impressive job with all the colts and will so look forward as their training continues. Thx as always for sharing. See ya again soon...
Hi there CC! HAHA! That is so funny! Carrot Cake is like 'everyone be still this girl is nuts' haha. I am glad you enjoyed this video and some of my training techniques ☺️ Carrot Cake is my personal horse ... when I saw her for sale I just knew I had to have her, she has the same mama as my favorite 'Shorty' horse. But then the icing on the cake was her 4 white socks and a blaze. At the moment I don't see myself selling her... I would like to keep her and compete on her at the HPI in Nebraska and the Riata Buckle in Oklahoma (when she is of age). I would really love to breed her also and maybe just have her raise some babies for me ☺️ That is my thinking at least... we'll see ☺️ Her sire is Dukes N Diva and her damn is Hombress Goldbaroness (Shorty's mama). So she was born special to me ❤️ Thank you so so much !! Catch ya next time ☺️
I am a long time horse lover, had a few back in my days, I just wish I had U Tube back in my days to help me train the my horses. I no longer have any animals. We are retired and I am not physically allowed to ride any more, but I enjoy your clips. TY for sharing.
Wife..... OMGOSH 😱 feeling so embarrassed Amry, I didn't realize how old this video is. DUGH !! Forget half of what I said earlier, everything except for anything you did while working on desensitizing. Love you sweetie 😘
@@cnahorses wife...... Hi sweet pea, just wanted to wish you and Cisco a Happy Halloween 🎃👻👹☠️. I love Halloween 😃 No matter how old you are in life, I think ya gotta have fun, be fun, to stay young and fun in your heart. So y'all have fun and be safe. Love you and can't wait for more videos 😃 God Bless 🙌 Jennifer 💞
Thank you!! She is such a cutie ☺️🥰 and yes she did... she can be ornery at times and tried to get some food with the older horses. She thinks she is bigger than the adult horses... she put up a fight tho! But the scab is starting to heal now thanks to some carona cream ☺️
An idea for additional revenue: you could offer riding lessons on a schedule, individual or small group lessons. You and Cisco would be great instructors. Just a thought.
Hi Amry, hope you all are well. I was wondering if you and Cisco would mind talking about bits and how you all use them. When and how you start your horses on them and why you like certain ones over others. It would be awesome to hear from you two about it. Thanks, Kat
Thank you Dave! I agree ☺️ Carrot Cake is a quarter horse. Her sire is Dukes N Diva and her damn is Hombres Goldbaroness... she was born at The Pitzer Ranch and I purchased her as a weanling ☺️
I think that is a great idea! If I had spent more time I think I would have eventually put a saddle on these guys. When I was swinging my leg over them on the fence I would let my leg weight rest on their back (which isn't much at all). But I am not against that at all and would agree the sooner they get used to carrying things on their back the better 🙌
Hey Dave! I don't have an updated list of horses that we have for sale.... we do have about 3-4 horses that will be listed in the next month or so. Hey Tom! Clinton Anderson is a person I highly respect and look up to. I have never had official training from him but I watch all of his videos and take what I can. I would say at least 75% of my methods come from his training ☺️
My preferred way is to take a 2 year old and saddle them about 15 - 20 times (and by saddle I just mean them wear the saddle without me on them). I like to put maybe 5-10 rides on them where I actually sit on their back and start teaching them cues from their back. After that I like to turn my 2 year olds back out to the pasture for some more time to grow up ☺️
She’s registered with AQHA but because she has a white spot on her belly she could be double registered with APHA as well. I just haven’t gotten around to registering her as paint
Please realize that a horse has not finished growing until about 5 years old. To start riding a horse at two with an adult weight is hard on the horse long term. I highly recommend waiting to ride them until they are 5. Lots of time to get them all dialed in with ground work until then.
Hey Gerry! I can agree with you and see your valid points. I understand horses are not fully developed until age 5-6. I focus a lot of ground work when they are young. But at 2-3 years old I like to put a few rides on them. I know everyone does things differently. We ride VERY lightly when they are young. If you would like to follow along and watch how I do things I would be more than happy to share. We have several horses that have come through our program and they have had long term success and health.
