Currently in the process of training my 9 month old filly! I call it kindergarten hahah. This video is super informative and helpful! I love how you included literally every part of the process and all of the realistic parts of training. I feel like so many training videos these days are too vague + over edited and don’t show the entirety of the process - real training sessions are a lot longer than the 15 minute edited videos, and you showed that perfectly. Keep it up!!
He is settling. You are so very good, Amry, and a great teacher telling us what you are thinking and why. I like how you explained he didn't appreciate the rest. Excellent to take him away because of Buddy Sourness.
That was an excellent session with Kix 🐎. I think he did a really good job, and picked up on your cue's pretty darn well. Unfortunately Amry, there's always going to be some "Negative Nancy's" out there, that feel the need to correct you, when in all actuality, you need NO correction at all! So to them I would just like to say, shush 🤫 she knows exactly what she's doing!! I think your going to have a pretty easy time training Kix, he seems pretty smart, and eager to learn. Can't wait to watch session 2 with him 😃. Again Amry, nice job 👍. Love and Blessings always ❤️🙌 Jennifer
VERY impressed with Kix... built well, smart ...very smart, willing, and still just a baby. This is gonna be a well worth the watch training between horse and trainer. I for one am looking forward to it. CNA all the way, ground work to pay window. 🙂 ...also took note of the over 10k now ...congrates
There's something similar between great horsemanship like yours and a great teacher of people (in my opinion)---you don't take undesirable behavior too personally. I wish more trainers of all types, including parents, learned that skill, along with patience and gentle tenacity. Thanks for posting your adventure with Kix, Day 1 was amazing!
Thank you Heather! I wasn't always so patience... horses taught me more than any person ever could. They have made me a better person. Can't wait to show the rest of this journey ☺️
He's a smooth mover and seems to have a good mind and will to please.... especially for a young stud just coming into his own and their inherited trend toward dominance a stallion has in Nature
Hi again AMRY A really good first lesson Amry. Your patience repetition and consistency is spot on. He's a very nice smart colt and you'll give him a top notch foundation with your skilled training. Plz know there will always be critics and nasties. Constructive kind suggestions can be tried and possibly put to good use. But hold on to your confidence and your methods that have already proven to be very successful! Always enjoy that time close to finish when they get tired and are ready to listen and kinda like ya lol! Good job lady! Looking forward to seeing those three get their great start with you... Catcha next time.
Before you start, I just want to let you know how much your training and your kind heart means to me. If I ever have a chance to get a horse (I have had horses all my life, but am older and living in a town), I will contact you to put the foundation on her, as I would want a filly. Sorry. We shall see. I have put it out to the universe, but you are hopefully in my future.
So happy we get to see your work with Kix. He is a very nicely put together guy, just gorgeous. Hope his personality matches his looks! A bit of a challenge with the round pen having greenery! Whatever happens with Kix in future, I do hope he is allowed to stay a stud long enough to bulk up. He is very pretty now, I can imagine him in a few years of bulking up. Then geld him if he won't be used as breeder stud, but I like giving them all their God given hormones for as long as possible. I do the same with male dogs that I have raised over the years. I not not neuter them as pups like so many do, and unless bad behaviors show up sometimes I keep them intact. Of course I am always careful to know where an intact dog I own is, secure in his own kennel run so as not to be able to run after any neighborhood females in heat.
Thank you for this video Amry love watching you😊 kicks is absolutely beautiful He’s a sassy boy isn’t he really talkative? He just wants to get back to his buddies but he’s doing great.
He isn't too young. It is easier at this age. And so much more manageable. He wasn't paying attention the first time. The second he watched. I like haltering and leading early, like while still nursing. Allen did some of that, but not a bunch.
How often do you plan to train Kix? That was quite a workout for him. And, he is still missing his mama. The mustang is feeling that as the mustang did live in a herd longer than most. Those mustangs are quite something, mentally-empathy knowing that Kix is just not mentally weaned, scared, and reaching out to be rescued by his mama. The mustang was trying to comfort. That is why it is so excellent you took him and the mustang away from the ranch. We have much in common as I also like Rocky Road ice cream--my favorite. Too much to say in this venue. I did write Allen and told him to start working that filly a bit. She is coming around, but she needs human contact. Runs away when humans come near and that should have been nipped in the bud. Allen has too much going on to get to the details at this time. But the older a foal gets, the harder it becomes. I watch Steve Young from Wales and he is really against cookies. I never used them, so am just curious. I have a litter of German Shepherds coming up. Interested?😉
Thanks for the update, good to see they are ok 👍🏼 Kix looks real good! 👍🏼When he kicked out, reminds of my boy when I warm him up , he still does at 18 yrs old when I push him to lope. He is top of the pecking order where I have him in the pasture , so I think he thinks he is Alfa over me! What do you think? 🤠🐴🇨🇦
His name should be pistol hhe is full of himself and being a colt and built up endurance n going the distance at his young age is a plus sport horse potential great job AMRY 🌞
The lead ropes were fine but your over sized halters could have caused a problem, easily gotten a leg through, you know horses can be amazing at getting into trouble. I have been doing since i was 7...I am now 70. Just "think" as Ray Hunt said with a open mind . Today was great!!!
G there are so many methods of training. I have watched this it been into this for years and somebody can do something really likes it and the next person doesn’t like the way they were training that horse. It’s just what it is.
You can't untie the bowline if the horse throws itself & has weight on the knot, you need to get slack in it to untie it. There are a variety of quick release knots that can be used, but they work better if you take several wraps around whatever you're tying to that way it doesn't pull the knot too tight. If you're using a halter that they can break, you use a rope they can't break, run it through the halter & tie a bowline around the horse's neck, but take several wraps around whatever you're tying to. The bowline around the neck won't choke them & you can always untie it once you get slack in the rope. (I love the bowline too.) (Experience)
Yes! I use a lot of Clinton Anderson methods - he is my favorite. I have also learned lots of little tips from local trainers. I will learn from anyone who has nicer horses than mine ☺️
Are you going to make Kix a gelding or leave him a stallion? I love his spirit. What goes into your decision on making a colt a gelding instead of letting him be a stallion.
We will most likely sell Kixs as a stallion - we usually geld colts at 1 - 2 years of age. It will be up to Kix's new owners if he is left a stallion. In my opinion stallions take a lot of work and owners should breed responsibility. I think there is a lot of prep and consideration that should go into keeping a stud to breed. This would be a good topic for a future video ☺️
My mare foaled while I was recovering from triple bypass, so he wasn't handled. Now, I haven't been able to touch him. He looks at me, but won't allow me to touch. When I feed, I stand beside the pan, he won't relax and eat. He runs in, grabs a bite and runs off. I need to get a halter on him. Suggestions?
Amy you are an awesome trainer I love watching your videos those colts are all so cute Kix did awesome today you set him straight right from the beginning when he turned his butt to you you get on him like I do my Mustang baby I got him at 10 months. You have to or they don't see you as a leader. I love how calm you are you always say (but that's ok) 😂
This was news to me as well just a few years ago... I will have to research more specific lines that have the pacing gene... I have come across a few recently but they all had different bloodlines. Personally I like to stay away from pacers - not my style.
What I call a normal trot (most quarter horses) trot with front and back legs moving forwards on alternate sides. A pacing horse will move their front and back legs on the same side - If I ever train a pacer I will make a video showing the differences.
I respect your opinion - go watch someone else who believes horses should run free forever. Let me guess you own a dog and/or a cat.... remember those are also domesticated animals.
Amry. I have watched him on rt 66 Farm right after he was born he is a pretty colors and horse keep the videos coming good luck I will be watching for them

You know what you're doing, that's for sure---you're a great trainer! Kix seems like a young horse with a well-developed sense of himself! lol
Thank you!! and I agree about Kixs ☺️🤣
He is settling. You are so very good, Amry, and a great teacher telling us what you are thinking and why. I like how you explained he didn't appreciate the rest. Excellent to take him away because of Buddy Sourness.
Thank you - glad you are enjoying this process ☺️
It is great that the young horses are used to the dogs and trailers already.
Gosh!! I love the looks of Kicks66!!
He is gorgeous!

Thank you Richard!! 😎 I agree! Kixs will be so fun!
Kix s is pretty smart, picking things up,and just learning.

Liked seeing Kix progress. Will be looking forward to more Kix and also seeing the other babies learn.
Nice job today! He is super good!
Amry...nice job watching you work with the colt. Kicks did so good on his first day of school. Intelligent horse 🐎
PS...the merry go round music...cute touch to your footage! 🙂
I thought it was fitting and exactly how I was feeling 🤣🙌

Can you imagine how muscled up she's going to have this guy by the time she's done with him?? Those muscles will really be popping!
MUSCLE BABY 😍
Good boy Kix!!
❤🎉 This is so fun to watch you working with Kix, Amry!! I think you're really gaining his respect. 🦄🎠🎪
Thanks for your videos. ⭐❤️🥰
He's a smooth mover and seems to have a good mind and will to please.... especially for a young stud just coming into his own and their inherited trend toward dominance a stallion has in Nature
I agree! ☺️
`Amry I think you bonded with Kix when you took him off of Allen's trailer. I love to watch you work with him.
I already love him 🥰

Looking forward to all the training steps of the colts! K 's is off to a great start.

Wow, Alan will be thrilled when he sees this. Great first session. You rock, Amry!

Thank you for this video Amry love watching you😊 kicks is absolutely beautiful He’s a sassy boy isn’t he really talkative? He just wants to get back to his buddies but he’s doing great.
Thank you for coming along our day Nancy ☺️ Kixs is a little talkative but we will see how he progresses. Until next time ☺️

Great job. They are all awesome but I have been loving Kick66 since he was born. Can’t wait to see all you are going to do with him.
Pretty special to watch him grow from birth 🥰🙌

Thanks for addressing the snot. I would freak.
Great job!
Appears he will have speed and agility
Nice presentation!!
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦

Keen to see where this goes and where he ends up, trail, wester pleasure, performance?
I definitely think Kixs has the ability to be a high end performance horse - it will be exciting to watch him grow ☺️
Rebel (roan) and Atlantus (cream) names
PS love your channel! (other two)
❤
I want to know about the coat that you got off of farm 66 in Arizona
The lead ropes were fine but your over sized halters could have caused a problem, easily gotten a leg through, you know horses can be amazing at getting into trouble. I have been doing since i was 7...I am now 70. Just "think" as Ray Hunt said with a open mind . Today was great!!!

Arm chair critics!
😳👀👀
Do you have a trainer whose methods you like most, Clinton Anderson for example?
Yes! I use a lot of Clinton Anderson methods - he is my favorite. I have also learned lots of little tips from local trainers. I will learn from anyone who has nicer horses than mine ☺️
Look at those rear muscles.
What is your pack rides ?? Just ride /camping or hunting ??
We aren't much of hunters so our pack trips are usually just an adventurous camping trip with horses ☺️
😊

Are you in a new housing development with horses right in the middle of it ?
I didn't know aqua horses would ever have a pacing gait gene. Are the ones with this gene registered? Just curious.
This was news to me as well just a few years ago... I will have to research more specific lines that have the pacing gene... I have come across a few recently but they all had different bloodlines. Personally I like to stay away from pacers - not my style.

No snide low cut remarks against your fellow human beings, ok people.
I am not concerned with the lead ropes as that is what I do. Every one has an opinion.
He is kicks 66
Knix is going to make a great horse, not as good as Butter, a great first day, fast learner.
You sure love Butters 🥰🤣🙌
People freak about leaving halters on too.
What is the parentage of Kix? What is his age? Has he been gelded?
the othr two are catching upheight wise
No on Sloppy.
Where is Milo? Is he on vacation for awhile or watching Animal Planet and sipping a beer?
Oh Milo - he's been running wild 🤣 Him and Cisco have been on adventures lately!
Milo wants to be where the action is. He’s no dummy!🤣🤣
But where’s Milo?
Milo needs an update!
He is a tired boy.
L👀king good. Like your technique. ❤️🫶❤️ N.C.🇺🇲
You are very consistent and you repeat many repetitions. You would probably be a good dog trainer.
Feel sorry for these horses. Horses should be free. Not whipped and dominated.
I respect your opinion - go watch someone else who believes horses should run free forever. Let me guess you own a dog and/or a cat.... remember those are also domesticated animals.
If you would watch Amry and Cisco the horses are never whipped and the horses enjoy being with them. I see the horses get a treat after a ride!
Your allowed your opinion on horses, but please get your facts correct before writing, he's not being whipped at all!
Amry. I have watched him on rt 66 Farm right after he was born he is a pretty colors and horse keep the videos coming good luck I will be watching for them
