Don't get me wrong. I'm super happy that this was nominated for the Grammy for Best Alternative Rock Album. It absolutely deserves that honor. But it not being nominated for Album of the Year is an absolute crime. It has been years where I have enjoyed a new album of any genre as much as I did this album. It is truly an incredible work of art from Halsey, Reznor and Ross.
Well, a few albums nominated for *ALBUM OF THE YEAR* aren't nominated elsewhere and might get robbed. But *'IF I CAN'T HAVE LOVE, I WANT POWER'* has high and fair chance of getting Halsey her first GRAMMY
There truly hasn't been any music that sounds like this in so long. It's a breath of fresh air and a handful of soil on a day when the seasons are changing
Agreed. 1000% she has the recipe and if she wanted to be an Ariana grande, Demi, whatever. She could. She is so god damn original. The way she speaks. Her writing style. It’s relatable and all The same time so enchanting and magical.
Literally the best artist out there. No one is in on the same level as her, lyric-wise, her voice, visually. The story she creates with each of her songs. So underrated even as a mainstream singer 💜
You need to listen to far more artist. Such as the guys who produced this. Nin aka trent and attiticus. Men who have created great music long before she was a sparkle in her dad's eye. Lol.
When she says "I hurt myself to make sure I exist" and "I need someone to tell me how to feel" those are references to Nine Inch Nails, who produced the album! In their 1994 album The Downward Spiral, they say in the song Hurt, "I hurt myself today to see if I still feel", and in the song I Do Not Want This "Don't you tell me how I feel, you don't know just how I feel"
This is my favourite track. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve listened to this. Shame it’s not on the standard album but I’m glad it’s had an official upload now.
@@markc1669 as a Halsey fan, it's absolutely not like that. We are extremely grateful for NIN. I think this album is a such a good opportunity for fans of different artists to come together and celebrate!!
Ever since I heard it and it got deleted from UA-cam I could not wait to hear it back again such a wonderful song. Could easily be the definition of hauntingly beautiful
Ok, now I know why this song instantly reminded me of "I'm Afraid of Americans" mixed with "The Hearts Filthy Lesson" when I heard it for the first time.
You should listen I'm Deranged by David Bowie. You can notice where Halsey got its inspiration from. I agree. It's delicious. The piano section is from none other than Mike Garson who also did the piano section for that David Bowie song.
this song feels like driving down a city road with all the lights lighting up the sky at night with the windows down, the piano part feels like the car crashed
Been listening to this on repeat ever since the extended album came out. I can see why it was cut because of the flow of the main album, BUT I’m so glad it’s available now because it’s fantastic.
How. The. HELL did I miss this song at the end of the album?! Also... Whole album.. The fucking production! It gives me goosebumps and I've listened to it dozens of times over and over
I love this song, and as a NIN fan since 1990, I heartily recommend those loving this to check out not only NIN back catalogue (Downward Spiral & The Fragile as being my favourites) but also How to Destroy Angels 'Welcome Oblivion' album.
I love that while each song has its own unique message, the album feels to have a continuous message running through it. This is the kind of music and artistry I love.
I hadn't heard a single one of Halsey's songs until about two months ago, now I'm absolutely obsessed! I'd love to thank Trent Reznor for introducing me to her music!
This isn't usually the type of music that I would listen to, but I took a chance after I heard of Trent Reznor's involvement. This album is outstanding. She has a great voice and very good range. Glad I stumbled upon this. One of my favorite albums of the year.
I’ve been trying to understand the meaning of this song ever since it came out and I think I finally managed. I think this song is a metaphor to fame. Fame is fleeting; you become famous, remain famous for a substantial amount of years, and then people eventually forget all about you and all that’s left is the money and the memories. “People disappear here” refers to that idea and this is why this lyric video features a clock. Having figured this out, this song means so much more to me now… I love insightful and deep lyrics as is the case in this song. I wish this was on the original tracklist but it being on the deluxe makes it even more special and subtle 🤍
I’ll seriously never get over how amazing this album is.
The best album I've heard in years. I love this album!
YESSSS!
Same
That's because it's produced by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. The same guy who put the unappreciative bum Marilyn Manson on the map.
never ever ever

Yeah, I totally agree with you. It's criminal.
the grammys hate halsey

Atticus and Trent did a phenomenal job producing the score for Gone Girl.

THIS ERA IS SO BEAUTIFUL
Meh, that clock at 2am lol
I can finally stream this LEGALLY on streaming platforms
lol
Omg yeah🤣
Yeah finally but I got it on the target exclusive one too
I'm so happy about it
Same literally
The piano tones in the end are the most beautiful thing
It's Mike Garson he also played piano for many of David Bowie albums. This song a similar taste and inspiration of I'm Deranged by Bowie.
This album/era is being a hidden treasure

Quite sad
I wonder if she also referenced that in "Whispers" with the "this is the voice that says "you do not want this"!
@@freezepops34 maybe! I guess I didn't notice that line before you mentioned it

I have not seen anyone else mention that the production is fricking awesome and how great a job Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross did...
Truly amazing work all around, oddly “ at times” it feels like her fans don’t like us invading.

I love how she talks about dissociation
i will always love how halsey makes the music they want to make, and doesn't go with the current or whatever's poppy.
Can Halsey and Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross just make music together forever?! Such an incredible collaboration.
Ever since I heard it and it got deleted from UA-cam I could not wait to hear it back again such a wonderful song.

Why was this video deleted? Same with Nightmare Reprise.
@@sammidiaz4892 from the comments I think it was leaked.
She crushes every gene. Rock, new wave, alternative, punk, pop. Apples and oranges but she’s up there with deftones for me.
I'm just getting all the way into Halsey's catalog. I always liked her voice, but I'm honestly blown away at how talented this woman is.
Best trent reznor instrumental!
absolutely killed piano by the one and only Mike Garson, keyboardist of David Bowie. So happy to see him collaborate with NIN & Halsey
It sounds very similar to I'm Deranged by David Bowie. I didn't know it was him.
Ok, now I know why this song instantly reminded me of "I'm Afraid of Americans" mixed with "The Hearts Filthy Lesson" when I heard it for the first time.
This is too good to even be a bonus song, one of my favourites. So dreamy and the lyrics are beautiful. Her lyrics really touch your soul 🖤✨
What is this masterpiece and why I haven't heard it before? Also that jazzy piano at the end, DELICIOUS 🙌

Best song on her album best song ever by her besides gasoline amazing the piano the dark tones reznor vibes gosh amazing piano, everything!

I really hope they release Gasoline reimagined on streaming services!! I love them so much and am so incredibly proud of them!
Who’s here from her most recent song
I love this song! This would be a great credits song at the end of a movie. Like a Sci-Fi drama, or something like that.
Halsey is a huge inspiration to me and I WILL produce a song for her one day.
Yes you tf you will

this might be my new favorite Halsey song.... I also know it's just a lyric video but I love the way this video is designed, the way the lyrics flow!
This track is fire. 🔥🔥🔥
The production, the lyrics and the music. Very inspired to The Downward Spiral.
ooooooooo 😮 I see where this is from. Is this nine inch nails?
Listening to her sing is always a pleasure. ❤
I love that she made all her songs long enough to Meditate on this legendary voice ❤️❤️
