Youre detail work and appreciation for all things MCM is commendable!! I love mahogany!! This pair is quite the find and i'm sure now worth a pretty penny. Thanks for sharing!!
Your attention to detail is AWESOME! When you used the putty knife to clear out the stain that collected in the seams I did a big "WOOP WOOP! THAT'S MY GIRL!!!!" Lovely work as usual! Thanks! 😊
Great Video! Your Close-up Camera Work is Amazing! Things like that Small bit Veneer You fixed or Working Around the Latch, There was Nothing Rushed and You Gave a Nice Step by Step Approach. They Really Are Beautiful! Your Color choices are the Best!
Very nice work. Watching this reminded me that I need to try my small scraper on a current piece. It is a corner and so far, I tried 3 different strippers & sanding. Your work with the blendal powders was spot on. Thank you.
Excellent job. Mahogany is not an easy wood to get right color wise, but i must say you did it. Even when new, the furniture companies had to spray toner on mahogany to even if out, because it could be so red and blotchy. I also like the unpainted pulls, they show some age and originality to the cabinet. Well done imo.
New subscriber. I've only done a few MCM pieces, but those smooth flat veneers are always stunning when finished. Loved how you did the Mohawk powders mixed with sanding sealer for touch ups.
Have I been pronouncing Delcraft incorrectly? (Dell craft). I do not clean my pieces until stripping and sanding are done either. I loved the little veneer shutters you made with tape 😂 Ive not been well the past year, so I haven't been able to work on anything.. Watching you is killing me, lol. I miss it. Just got some new meds, so maybe I can start slowly. Great job ❤
@@mcm.walnuter3479 Ha! It could be pronounced differently! All I know for sure is that it comes from the first 4 initials of Dominion Electrohome industries Ltd! It’s always bitter sweet watching videos on something you enjoy doing but can’t! Hopefully things will work out and you can start again. 🤞Thanks for tuning in. 😊
@@Marie-Heath Thanks. If I remember correctly 220. But the veneer wasn’t that super thin type you often find. It was substantial otherwise I would have hand sanded it off. ☺️
I see in the video that you use a Bahco scrapers. Are these scrapers sharp for a long time? I ask because this scraper cannot be sharpened because its blade is made of sintered carbide. Is it worth buying? Please tell me how you rate it, whether you have been using it for a long time and is it still sharp. You renovated the cabinet beautifully, it looks fantastic, congratulations on the successful renovation.👍
Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the video! I have had that scraper for a couple of years now and I always sharpen it when it gets dull. And it always works better after I do! I am no expert on scrapers tho, I just know this one works for me! 😏
Sanding sealer does a few things. It gives a great base coat for repairs so the touch up colours don’t penetrate too much. Also you can tint your sanding sealer and use it as a toner to change colour of wood. Also it helps seal the wood so no contamination (if there is any) transfers to top coat (lacquer in this case). Hope that helps! 😊 Thanks for tuning in.
I’m very impressed with this restoration. The brass hardware is beautiful.
Thanks, I agree, I love the round knobs! 😀
Lots of care went into your redo. Even the way your pour your spirits. Smooth!

Thanks for your kind words! Mahogany is always a bit of a challenge. But I am happy with the results! Thanks for watching! 😊
These look beautiful, great job on the restoration 🤩👏😍
Thanks so much! 😊
Nice looking cabinets! Great job!
I’m so in love with those handles and they cleaned up so beautifully! Beautiful job altogether.
I agree, the handles really add that bit of pizazz to the piece! 😊

Thanks so much. I am still working out all the kinks of refinishing and filming at the same time! It’s more challenging than I originally thought! 😂
Teak stain may have looked nice also. Nice job!
Thanks! 😀

@@amybucher5439 Thanks for watching . I’m still very new with the Blendal powders, lots of experimenting ahead! 😊

Thanks. I often struggle with mahogany...walnut is much more forgiving! ☺️
so good!
Come again!
Very pretty ❤
Thank you! 😊
Those turned out really well! I love that you didn't spray the hardware. Very nice work!
Glad you liked it! 😊

Thanks for subscribing! I am new to using the powders so I have a long way to go to get the perfect blend of colours!
So one piece had drawers and the other didn't? Anyway, they look beautiful now. Nice that you didn't paint the hardware--great job!
That’s right. One had only a shelf and one had two drawers. Unusual but useful! 🙂
we back

✨Inspiring!✨ When you sanded back the pecan stain you didn’t like, what grit sandpaper did you use to avoid breaking through the veneer?😬
