For another very emotional singer, try Adam Duritz in the Counting Crows. Anna Begins is spectacular and Rain King is fantastic.

@@joelliebler5690 I did say "biggest hit" and it was the #1 hit of the year 1976. Nothing I posted is wrong. "Every Picture Tells A Story" is my personal favorite then "Maggie May" and "The Killing of Georgie (parts 1 & 2}". By the way "Maggie May" was a huge hit too in 1971.

i love your sincere reaction you felt the right thing! When it comes out from the right place, it goes right in the right place. Heart to heart. the guitar player was Ronnie Wood, guitar player in the Rolling Stones since 1975, after a common decision with his partner Rod Stewart to split the band. Rod wanted to be Rod and Ronnie was invited to join the world wide band The Rolling Stones. They are still best friends today.

Rod can stun you with unexpected, brief little vocal runs like at 2:46, or 3:16, etc. _He doesn't overdo it though._ That's the key to it. He lets the _tone_ of his voice and the beauty of the _melody_ wash over you first. Only when _that's_ established does he start embellishing it. (Aretha Franklin was also awesome at this.) Great reaction to a great song!

She loved this always and its my favourite too. He is a wonderful singer and I think he is still going strong. The music you play kickstarts the memories and that is a wonderful gift to give sweetheart. Peace to you, love and hugs and God bless you Mary-Ellen UK

At Rod's concerts everyone is up on their feet wearing their hands left to right and singing this with him. Amazing!

They'd play this occasionally when we were deploying in the Navy, see you in six months then they'd play this.....my eyes leaked more than once, yet here I am 33 years in and still serving.

Rod did a lot of work with guitarist and friend Ronnie Wood (now with the Rolling Stones). They were in the groups Faces and Jeff Beck Group together. If you want a goodie but oldie, listen to "Ol" Man River sung by Rod.

For a heavier side of Rod, check out (I Know) I'm Losing You, Stay With Me (with The Faces) or I Ain't Superstitious (with Jeff Beck).
