What a throwback in so many ways, for Lorde and for James blake. I feel like both artists have evolved a lot since then, but thats not a bad thing at all. I feel like this was a special time.
Evolved from Retrograde? The song is perfection...
Real recognizes real.
Very nicely done, Lorde.
Randy Marsh still got it.
Ya ya ya ya ya
Great call 😂
I am Lorde, I am Lorde. Ya ya ya ya.
Lorde Lorde Lorde yayaya
This is from 2014, just for people who missed it in the description.
I'd been wondering why my Tuesday had become a Friday. 🥴
Oof long ago lol
Gosh, those were the days.
I was OBSSESSED with Lorde’s lipstick 💄 I wore it all. The. Time.
“now the cherry black lipstick's gathering dust in a drawer”
I remember discovering this some years ago on some other channel. I was surprised seeing the thumbnail because i thought she was going back to this look.
Her and Kimbra have my fucking favorite arm movements in recordings like this. No matter how awkward or repetitive they might seem you can see them really focusing.
Thanks for uploading this! What a classic
Oh my God finally the official channel uploaded it!!!❤️❤️
Just as amazing as I thought she would be!!!!! Love me some soulful musicians
love love love
I love that lorde and I have the same taste in music she’s awesome
Wow. This cover reminds me of my ex. Beautiful and sorrow filled memories rolling back. Amazing cover though!
I love this song so much! I might still prefer the original but she did a great job.
doubt, she sounds like me 3 am drunk
Take me back
I don't know what it is, but even having watched multiple interviews and videos with lorde I'm not confident I could pick her out of a line up. And then if you pointed her out and then got me back 6 months later I'd fail again.
But if she sings a single note, I'd be on to her in an instant.
I AM LORDE, LORDEY LORDE, I AM LORDE.- Randy Marsh
Lorne’s Musical Technique Is An Unique Process😊
LORDe!!!
To: Future potential comment leavers
Yes. We all already know that South Park once referenced Lorde previously. Thanks anyway.
If music is dying musicians are killing it - Mike patton.
An others are recovering art
I am Lorde, I am Lorde, la la la
This was hard to listen to especially for a James Blake cover… I tried to hang in there but it just got more painful
From this is year is this video?
Soul would be helpful here
lorde 🤝 james blake
ruling the 2010s
The rhodes is soooooo loud
Lorde. No kidding, eh?
As expected for Stan Marsh
The instruments are terribly simple and bland in this performance, lacking depth, expression, and probably would have been nice to play reverb and heavier samples. But then again it's from 2014, i'm guessing the Like A Version of today would make sure it was produced more substancialy.
I’m not entirely sure what I just watched. For some reason it reminded me of Tropic Thunder😳
yall should put me on here next
I wish people would choose either to see a song and appreciate it, or just don't say anything and turn it off.
Ah, but this is the Age of Twits.
I don't envy the job of future historians when they try to sort through the 'records' of this era. Such an abundance of chaff records that bury the wheat.
But hey, you know the saying. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. 8D
Well, that was depressing.
An entire minute of just vocal exercises??
so those are the best vocal exercises

Nice to see Randy still performing
Lorde owes us after years of disappearing and dropping a mid Album
Wtf is this?
The sound of the keyboard is too loud compared to the voice.Too bad.
she really invented singing in cursive and i hate every moment of it
Uffff. Her voice doesnt suit this song at all.
As someone who'd never heard the original I thought she performed the piece wonderfully. Then I went and listened to the Blake's original performance, and I think your (or the) issue is that Blake did such an amazing job with the song in the first place.
..While I'm here, hey triple j, wouldn't it be respectful to the original artist to provide a link to their original in your summary? 🤔
It’s a COVER, therefore their own style of rendition and interpretation. Nothing needs to suit anything.
First?
Depressing
that sounds so fucking bad omg
haters gonna hate,,, go to sleep biach
Randy wtf
this is a very bad performance
