    The piston is compatible with many models of the series. I fixed mine (Krups EA8150) using the same piston MS-0697072.
    Note: there is a "nine" missing in the piston replacement part in the video description. Thanks again and regards.

    I just want to thank you a tonne for putting these videos up. The place i'd go to charged me $100 to replace the O-ring alone. That O-ring at most after taxes and shipping costs something like $10, so these guys value their time at $90 an hour, which is ridiculous. It's a pleasure to actually get into the machine and learn how to fix it myself. Would love a video on how to replace the pump as well if that's something you'd be interested in looking at. I will be replacing the entire piston as soon as I receive it in the mail. Thanks' again. Additionally, in the description you are definitely missing a "9" in the part code.

      Before I found this video (and your comment) I can proudly say I've done the same to replace the o rings only which cost little money and that do the job perfectly, I don't think piston needs to be replaced even there are signs of use. 6546 cycles on mine.

    Hi Tom, are you familiar with the Distributor on these Krups Coffee Makers … I was told mine may be clogged and it’s causing the piston to push up and leak coffee from the top of the piston area and/or during the cleaning cycle It drips coffee all over the counter from the bottom of the machine. I did change the O-Rings on the piston and the Gasket/Seal at the bottom of the piston assembly but it still leaks. I also purchased a entire new Piston with O-Rings but I have not changed them yet I greatly appreciate any insight or suggestions you can provide

    Hello, I have a similar Krups coffee machine which has served us for about 3000 cups of coffee already. The coffee is now quite watery, I suspect it is the burr that has been shifted to a coarser setting (larger gap) even at the machine's finest grade through the dial. If you know how to fix it, please share with us. Many many thanks.

    Hi Tom, great video. Although the top didn't come off as easily as in your instruction, it worked eventually. However, the first run still leaked water, which comes out at the very bottom of the machine. There's a small gutter, I think especially for leak issues. After a few runs, perfect coffee but a small drip hangs at the bottom. It's not clear water. Do the rings have to set? Or could the part below the piston also be leaking? Did I attach the piston too tight? Hope you can share some thoughts

    • @fixittom
      @fixittom  3 роки тому +2

      I’m sorry to hear you are still having problems. If the leak is not clear water then it likely has something to do with the brew chamber - it sounds like you have replaced the O-ring so you should be able to look into the cup warmer area and see if any coffee is coming out at the top of the brew chamber (around your new O-ring) If the leak is still there you may have to replace the piston and the O-ring. If there is nothing coming out from the top, then it becomes very hard to diagnosis, there are a few locations from which it could be coming but you’d actually have to see the drip before you would be able to solve the issue. I’m sorry I can’t be of more assistance.

      @@fixittom Hey, well I fixed it eventually. I opened it all up again, and noticed that the piston came up quite a bit when making coffee. So I unscrewed it a tiny bit, aligned it better and tried again. Viola, no more leaking. Apparently the piston needs a little room to move?

    • @fixittom
      @fixittom  3 роки тому

      Although I’m not a Krups repair tech, I believe the answer is yes. I believe this is a pressure relief mechanism that allows any water that cannot be pushed through the coffee an alternative place to go. It shouldn’t be a huge amount.

      Hi mate.
      I'm not sure if you ever interested in the topic after 2years, but for anyone else reading this I want to tell I have the same issue. That is, after leaking problem and finding solution (I repaired by myself, before seeing this video and I did only o rings, piston wasn't replaced) I noticed the grinding time is much shorter and coffee tastes awful. I have no idea where is the sensor for the grinding motor to stop grinding, I assume there is some, and probably this is due to dirt or some other residue making false sensing and affecting in grinding too short. So far, I followed what you did and run the cycle without coffee beans. Doing that few times (maybe 3 or 4) I could hear the grinding is getting longer. Don't know for how long this will solve the problem, as you mentioned it comes back. I can only say this is some more common for this machine if you and me already had this. I only wonder if there is anybody else with solution out there...
