    Hello Aboutelectricity
    Will it be the same if you wire channel by channel; like fro s11 through E-stop to S21 and from S12 through E-Stop to S22?

    • @AboutElectricity

      No. Terminals S11 - S12 is one channel and s12 - s21 is the second channel.

  • @ryanjohnson3606

    Hello AboutElectricity, I've got a question. I notice that you don't have the E-Stop button wired into any 24V in the video. Why is that? I'm assuming, that whenever channel 1 and 2 are happy and you hit your reset, it sees both channels are closed then and that allows the relay to latch? An answer would be awesome!
    Maybe I'm just confusing 24v e-stop daisy chained circuits to the pilz, which I'm not entirely sure what all the differences are yet.
    Also, what are the 13 and 14 terminals for? From my understanding it looks like it keeps power latched onto the coil for the contactor(s), for whenever the circuit isn't tripped.

    • @AboutElectricity
      @AboutElectricity  4 роки тому +1

      1.yes.You only wire 24V to power the relay and e-stop button to the monitoring channels. During reset if booth are closed then the relay turn on the safety outputs 13-14.If for some reasons we will lose one channel the safety relay will de-energize safety outputs.

    • @GettinChrixy
      @GettinChrixy 8 місяців тому

      @ryanjohnson3606 The unit itself sends a 24 through the e-stop from S11 and S21 and monitors that it receives the signal on S12 and S22. When it loses the 24 signal (when you push the E-stop) it will then open the contacts for the circuit it is controlling. This is then reset when the e-stop is pulled out (can see the signal again) and when it gets a pulse signal from the reset (terminal S33 to S34)
      Hopefully I explained that clearly.

    Hi, couldn't the reset bypass the contractors and just go 33 to reset then straight back into 34. Or is this done to make sure a short hasnt developed on the contacts themselves.
    Thanks

    • @jeffjeff8562
      @jeffjeff8562 2 роки тому

      Normally you wouldn't put the reset circuit through the n.c. contacts on the relays. You would just wire the n.o. reset button on the S33 to S34 terminals. The n.c. contacts on the relays are then free to use as feedback to the input card on the plc or simply an indicator light.

    Can i connect feedback circuit to two relays in series instead of contactors ? why would just not connect NO contact reset between s34 and s34?

    • @AboutElectricity
      @AboutElectricity  4 роки тому +1

      1.I have seen many machines and they have always been fitted with contactors.It is because those contactors are switching main circuit where current is higher and might exceed rated load of the relay contacts.
      2. If your application does not require feedback circuit then yes, you can wire only NO contact between s33 and s34 as manual start.

      @@AboutElectricity Thank you for quick reply. I am working on low voltage 24vdc circuit, outputs are pneumatic sv 24vdc dump valve 24vdc buzzer 24vdc ect., inputs are sensors that are 24vdc.
      I think in low voltage circuits i can use small 24vdc relays with safety relay 24vdc? correct me if i am wrong..
      Another question is that in small machines based on PLC with maximum 8 inputs and outputs - push buttons, proxy sensors, solenoid valves, buzzers, dump valves all operating on 24vdc - i would need to implement safety circuit - means e-stop and safety relay, there is no guards that would require interlocks or light curtains.. all i need to drop air from the pneumatic system and trigger buzzer at the event of emergency machine stop (e-stop depressed)
      1.) would be necessary to disable inputs 24vdc?
      2.) would be necessary to disable outputs 24vdc?
      3.) would be just connecting pneumatic dump valve and buzzer to safety relay with 24vdc relays in series?
      Regards,
      D.

      @@yattaman71 I would still use contactors instead of relays.I would wire safety relay with emergency stop like here ua-cam.com/video/SYkYQCfPVPI/v-deo.html
      When E-stop depressed two contactors will drop out disconnecting power supply to the valves.On top of that,use one set of contact and wire it to the plc and plc program should deenergize all outputs.But you have to chceck if it works.

      The purpose of using aux contacts on contactors is to prevent a safety circuit reset in case of a contact weld in one of the contactors. You would also use a safety rated contactor that's built differently than a standard model.

      Well, you have to check feedback circuit. It looks to me that some of the normally closed contact is not really closed ( and it should be).Check how many NC contacts you have in the feedback circuit then take a multimeter and check the voltage before and after each contact.
