Thanks for the detailed review. I've been looking at this, but the complaints I've seen online about Echelon's customer service have scared me off of it. I'm taking a hard look at the Sunny SF-T722022--I'd love to see you review it; it's got a similar footprint and is also a fold-flat style. I realize I'd be taking a flier on the Sunny with its limited warranty (I did see that you included the Sunny Smart Strider in your list of best inexpensive treadmills for 2023--the SF-T722022 is a little cheaper and adds an auto-incline feature). I've also been looking at the 3G Cardio 80i. Its warranty and customer are really appealing, but it looks a little too heavy for me (I'm 5 ft / 100 lbs. and only plan to use the treadmill for walking; I'm not sure I could move the 80i by myself).
Good review. I'm looking at this treadmill and given the small motor and weight I was concerned but I'm around 180 and older so 6-7mhp is plenty. Seeing the guy run it sold me. I thanks again.

Avoid Proform and NordicTrack if you can. They have horrible customer service..If an issue comes up with your treadmill it will take an herculean effort to get it resolved.
Hi! Great review. Are there any other treadmills with similar space-saving features/benefits (folding up, small spaces, etc) that rival this one? Or exceeds it?
On the echelon site and other review sites it says 12 levels of incline but 10%. I am just confused to know if it actually reaches 12% incline or if it is only 10%.
All these UA-cam videos saying anything lower than 3hp isn't recommended for running is ridiculous. All the videos even say 2.5 HP isn't enough...I don't know why .. .My old treadmill that my family purchased in the early 2000s still runs!!! I use to run on that thing with no issues.. and it's def not 3hp.
Hello, I love the echelon for its minimal design and compact footprint. You mentioned that it’s constrictive for larger users. I’m 5’11”, 295 pounds, 66 years old. I’m on a weight loss journey so I won’t 295 forever, hopefully :) I’m a walker. Would this work for me? If not, can you recommend something similar that would work for me? Thank you.
The max user weight on the Stride is 300lb, and you're pretty close to that capacity. The Echelon can be a bit wobbly for larger users. We'd recommend looking at the Sole F63 or Sole F80 if your budget allows. They are stronger and more durable with a larger deck and higher weight capacity. The F63 is currently $1100 and the F80 is $1600.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thanks for the response and recommendations. What I love about this treadmill is the low profile. I have a Nordic trac that I’m sending back because it’s too big. Is this the best option in low profile treadmills?
Thanks for the thorough review. How hard was it for you to move around, lift from the flat position , etc? I’m really interested in knowing how easy or hard it might be for a smaller woman to maneuver.
It's relatively easy for our reviewers to move it around using the wheels, even our smaller reviewers can wheel it around from the flat, folded position. But keep in mind that It does weigh 156 lbs. It's more difficult to lift it up completely off the ground and this really requires two people.
Thank you for this review! I have limited space, my house is a small cape. At the moment I plan to put on the second floor, my roof is still caped, I love that this machine folds flat. I have been a frequent user of a treadmill at the gym. on average running at a speed of 5mph for 30min a day. overtime I can work to the faster speeds, do you think the motor will support average usage like that? I also have my mom who will probably use it at 2mph and my brother who has spinal bifida, I like that the width to get on isn't high.
What seems appealing about this is the folding design seems awesome but my doubts are about the reliability and durability it’s not cheap so av5 year warranty would have been good
I do like the treadmill except one issue - when you switch on the start button it is such a loud start up prompt and I don't know how to adjust or stop that.
Looks ideal this but in the UK you only get 1 year warranty which is a short period of time for such an expensive item. They will extend your warranty to 5 years if you take out a membership for £30 a month. That's s a lot of money.
We like both of these treadmills. The Echelon, however, has more training capabilities, it inclines up to 12%, has a larger weight capacity, and has a larger and faster deck. For a compact treadmill, it does a lot. The Botorro is a bit more compact than the Echelon, so if you're really short on space this one might be the better option it just doesn't have as many training options.
I'm 5'11 around 195-200lbs, do you think this would hold up for light jogs and walks? The max speed I would put on this is maybe 8mph. Just looking for an indoor alternative for me and my wife when the weather isn't the best.
Thank you for information. Can you please recommend me a basic but good quality tread mill. I only need the information for time, speed, calories and distance. Thank you.
@@chrisd4454 That makes sense. If you are okay not having an extremely compact machine you could check out the Horizon T101. Great review. Does the belt slip to one side? I owned a compact treadmill and the belt eventually slipped to one side. No matter how I tweaked it, the issue repeated. I read somewhere that higher value treadmills don’t do that. Mine was a cheap one from Amazon. This is more expensive but I watched someone’s video review where the belt was shifted to one side.
We have multiple reviewers test each treadmill at various speeds and inclines and haven't noticed the belt slips. This could be something that occurs with extended use, but we haven't noticed that problem.

My only concern would be the size of the deck. Your weight is perfect and as long as the deck provides enough length for your stride, it would be a great option. The deck is 55" long.
It only matters for those who plan to run, are larger users, or who need extra cushioning. It isn't a hard surface, but it isn't quite as cushioned as other treadmills. It is a great option for the size though
I am 6'3 about 285. I need soemthing like this to save space and I have absolutely no plans to run. I have lost a good portion of weight walking but as we go into the winter months Im stuck. As my wife and kids love to point out, most of my height is in my torso, so I am not sure my stride would be an issue. Thoughts?
The Echelon Stride is a good option for you. You can also check out the Horizon T101 and Sole F63 models. These treadmills don't fold flat and aren't as compact as the Echelon though, instead, the decks fold up when you're not using them. All of these treadmills are great for what you're looking for and should have enough room for your walking stride.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru This is fabulous thank you. I actually had done some more research and found the echelon on sale. I need something that hits all the points and the sale pushed it over the top. Thanks for your feedback!
@@Leo.SKDXL05 I did. Exactly what I wanted. Allows me to walk and is able to be stowed away. Excellent purchase - especially as I got a deal for Black Friday.
My partner and I are both relatively short (5'6" and under) and light (150 lbs and under). We need a treadmill for our smaller apartment and plan to use it 3-5x/week total, with her using it for walking and slower jogs, and me using it for the same with occasional runs of 2-3 miles at paces between 7-8 mph. I'm a little concerned with the horsepower listed for the Echelon Stride - can someone please weigh in as to whether it will suffice for our needs?
If you don't need the extra length, the Botorro R5 may be a good option. It is 50" long and 18" wide, so it's smaller, but has a 2.5HP motor and feels very sturdy. The Sole F63 is another good option with more power - it's just a bit larger. Here's our review on the Botorro: www.treadmillreviewguru.com/botorro-r5-treadmill-review
The Echelon Stride inclines up to a 12% grade which we've found to be a nice incline range. If you want a higher incline however, we recommend checking out other models. For reference, the incline trainers from NordicTrack incline up to 40% which is some of the highest incline we've seen on home treadmills.
The Echelon may not be large enough for you. Would a full size, folding treadmill work? The Sole F80 or Horizon 7.8AT would both be great options, they are full size, but they do fold up when not in use to save space.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru what I mean is it seems like the tablet would sit in the lower one and that would secure the top of it. I don't think it was ever intended to have a phone or tablet above the screen. I'm just guessing here.
@@lucasvoag6738 Oh I see what you mean, yes, that is the case for sure. When you include the tablet, it will cover up most of the console but if you bluetooth sync the tablet to the machine all of your metrics and data will show up on your tablet. Then you will still have access to the speed and incline buttons on either side of the tablet. Hopefully that all makes better sense now.
Excellent review thank you. When you walk on the treadmill can you increased walking speed from 3 to 3.5 or do you have to choose 3 and next speed 6 which is the jogging speed?
You can manually increase speed by pressing the + button. You aren't limited to the preset speeds only - these are there for convenience if you want to quickly move from a walk to a jog. But intermediate speeds are available using the manual buttons.
We don't really recommend this treadmill for running because it has a shorter 55" long deck and the 1.75 motor size is best for walking and some light jogging. For running I would look at treadmills with at least a 3.0 HP motor and 60" long deck to handle this level of training.
FYI, 5ft 9, 10st and run between 12-15kph for 60-90 minutes at a time. My worry for this is how long it'll last, will that kind of regular use batter this thing within a couple of years? (Or worse)
Can you please help me with figuring out why Amazon says this has a 3.0 motor? Echelon site from your link says $1299 but won't give spec details. Amazon shows $1299 for the one with 3.0 HP Also shows "new" for over $2000. Is there a premier model I'm unaware of? Or is that a 3rd party resaler trying to make a profit? Walmart says "Stride Sport" for $697... Only difference seems to be a 1.35 HP motor? Just wanna know what to look for so that I'm getting the actual 3.0 motor. For the actual price. We need a treadmill for running for heavier users. 200 to 250 lbs. Incline. Compact/foldable with a minimal footprint while stored under bed or against a wall.... If this isn't the treadmill for us, what is?
Amazon is incorrect, the Echelon Stride has a 1.75 HP motor. The model up from this one is the Echelon Stride-s which has a larger 3.5 peak HP motor than the 1.75 HP motor on this Echelon Stride treadmill that's in the video. Peak just means that it can increase the horsepower to 3.5 for short periods to handle higher speeds. Unfortunately, Echelon only lists the Echelon Stride-s as a 3.5 peak HP motor so we don't know the actual motor size and we've haven't tested this one. Echelon's premium treadmill is the Echelon Stride-5s which has a 3.0 HP motor, but doesn't fold flat like you're wanting. The Stride Sport listed at Walmart doesn't sound like it will work for what you're wanting. I'd say the Echelon Stride-s is better for what you're looking for, it has a longer deck and larger motor and folds flat. Overall though, a compact treadmill that folds flat is going to be more limiting when it comes to using it for heavier running. If you do want a treadmill for heavier use, we recommend checking out a treadmill with a deck that folds up because you'll have more options for running. I understand if you're limited on space though and need one that fits under a bed or against a wall. In that case, I would definitely check out the Echelon Stride-s. If a treadmill with a deck that folds up could work though, let me know and I can recommend other options. Please let me know if you have any questions.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Wow quick reply thanks. I'll look at my options for the stride s and 5s. Folding flat is preferred But so long as it folds up within the space we intend to put it in can compromise on space for the better motor

@@ChrisBurrisMusic yes. Working with Echelon customer service was cumbersome at best but after a couple weeks and several phone calls they were able to get it working.

@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thank you 😊
I am 6'3 about 285.
@@SethKamins did you pull the trigger? if so, how do you like it so far?
@@Leo.SKDXL05 I did. Exactly what I wanted. Allows me to walk and is able to be stowed away. Excellent purchase - especially as I got a deal for Black Friday.
Do you have heart monitor sensors ?
Here's our review on the Botorro:

@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thanks for your very helpful response.
Would this treatmill be good for running 22 miles a week at 7 mph? I'm 6.3" 215 pounds or should I better look at models ike the Nordic Track C1750
This might be a bit small and underpowered for you. I would recommend the 1750 as a good starting option.
Great video!! Thanks!
Is there heartrate monitor on this ??
I want to do hike classes from my peloton App. These class are walking on a high incline. Will this machine work good for this?
The Echelon Stride inclines up to a 12% grade which we've found to be a nice incline range. If you want a higher incline however, we recommend checking out other models. For reference, the incline trainers from NordicTrack incline up to 40% which is some of the highest incline we've seen on home treadmills.
What brand Shoes are you wearing? I am looking for good shoes to wear for walking on the treadmill or running.
Nike Infinity React flyknit. They are soft and have good cushioning.
I’m looking for a small footprint treadmill good enough to train for a marathon, I’m 6’2” 240 looking to do hour to 2 hour training sessions
The Echelon may not be large enough for you. Would a full size, folding treadmill work? The Sole F80 or Horizon 7.8AT would both be great options, they are full size, but they do fold up when not in use to save space.
Is this the tread sport model? Or regular echelon. The tread sport is a smaller model for echelon. I bought one at Walmart. If u can clarify, thanks
This is the Echelon Stride, just the original treadmill from them. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Is that top clip not a top support for a tablet?
It can be used as a tablet holder but it's a bit small for a tablet.
Do you think it’s safe to store horizontally (leaning in a wall for example)?
It can be leaned up against a wall vertically, so it probably can be stored on it's side leaning against a wall, too.
Would this treadmill be appropriate for walking 3miles per hour 30 mins to 1 hour 4 times a week
Yes, the Echelon Stride would be perfect.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru thanks
Excellent review thank you. When you walk on the treadmill can you increased walking speed from 3 to 3.5 or do you have to choose 3 and next speed 6 which is the jogging speed?
You can manually increase speed by pressing the + button. You aren't limited to the preset speeds only - these are there for convenience if you want to quickly move from a walk to a jog. But intermediate speeds are available using the manual buttons.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru thank you so much. Have a great day.
Would this be recommended for 60 minute runs at around 10-11km/h
If not what's the issue?
We don't really recommend this treadmill for running because it has a shorter 55" long deck and the 1.75 motor size is best for walking and some light jogging. For running I would look at treadmills with at least a 3.0 HP motor and 60" long deck to handle this level of training.
So running 12-18k a day this would be a bad choice?
FYI, 5ft 9, 10st and run between 12-15kph for 60-90 minutes at a time.
My worry for this is how long it'll last, will that kind of regular use batter this thing within a couple of years? (Or worse)
Can you please help me with figuring out why Amazon says this has a 3.0 motor?
Echelon site from your link says $1299 but won't give spec details.
Amazon shows $1299 for the one with 3.0 HP
Also shows "new" for over $2000.
What is max weight, I dont see any notations anywherr... thank you
The maximum user weight is 300lb
I wonder why the motor is not better for compact treadmills!
Is this a Canadian channel?
No, we're U.S.
thanks a lot
Nice!
This looks more premium against the Butorro r5 which is a lot less expensive tha Echelon
My Echelon Stride S arrived with an inoperable screen and so far the company has refused to help. I have called and messaged multiple times. If anyone knows how to get in touch with a supervisor please let me know.
Did you ever get this fixed?
@@ChrisBurrisMusic yes. Working with Echelon customer service was cumbersome at best but after a couple weeks and several phone calls they were able to get it working.
I can't understand what she's saying about the speed. She says "3 is an average walking pace, 6 is kind of a base running pace, not too fast, about 10 miles per hour (which is 16 km per hour?) and then 9 is going to be really fast - so that's about 6,5 mhp". It makes no sense.
Great, but great review girl 👍❤️🔥👌. Pura Vida
It has a weak motor. 1.75 HP motor. I would expect at least a 2.5-3.0 CHP motor.
What does the motor determine?speed or what
👋
I’m confused. Other professionals say this is good for running. But you say it isn’t.
Many of these walking pads/treadmills motors tend to overheat prematurely according to Amazon reviews.😡
very noisy & wobbly when running, price is high, warranty is short time, but portable for condo/apartment.
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
